NATHALIE’S POV

I couldn’t immediately process what he had revealed.

What in the wide heck? What is he saying? What happened during the whole week that he is saying all those things?

“Nathalie... Help me. Bring back my daughter’s smile.”

Hearing Sir Calix’s voice was like a wake-up call, and I snapped back to my senses.

I continued to approach him.

I placed the towel on his back and spread it in front of his body.

I sat down facing him. “Stand up first, Sir. You don’t have to do that; there’s no need for you to kneel.”

“I’ll do anything,” his voice pleaded, holding back tears. “If Brianna were to learn I am not her real father, it would leave her with a profound question. The pain wouldn’t be a fleeting moment upon learning the truth; it would resonate deeply and endure. She might carry this wound, this trauma, for the remainder of her life. I would become a permanent source of trauma for her.”
