Slowly Dexter gain consciousness he opens his eyes but was dazzled by the strong light of the sun coming from the window. He looks on the other direction and try to figure out where he is. He sees the wall made from light materials, the floor made from bamboo and the door leading to the kitchen. He figured it out, he is inside a small hut. But he wonders who brought him there? On the other hand, he is very thankful, someone helped him. Someone takes good care of him in the worst part of his life.

He tried to move, to stand up, but he is still very weak, he again falls back where he lies before. He can only move his hands and his head to look around. He can hear from outside, the singing of birds from the trees nearby. He remembers, he is in the forest. Good there is a hut in the forest, meaning someone is living here, the one who helped him. But it is located in the middle of the forest, in very remote place. Who is that guy who decided to live here?

A foot steps comes from outside the house, after a while, it come upstairs toward Dexter. He try to see, who he or she was. He moves his head and focus his eyes toward the direction of the steps. To his surprise, she was a young lady, with long hair, dark eyes, heart shape face, slim body, white brown complexion, wearing white blouse and dark skirt. She is beautiful and cheerful, proven by her communicable smile on her red lips. She comes close to Dexter.

“Are you feeling well today?” she asked him.

“I am quite ok but still weak and still cannot stand up” he answered

Dexter wonder, why and how in heaven’s name there is a beautiful lady here in the forest?

“Are you the one who carry me here inside the hut”

“Yes, I found you lying on the ground helplessly”

“Thank very much for your help, if not by you I am dead by now”

“You are too young to die, I feel obliged helping you when I see you yesterday”

“Are you alone, on this hut? It would be very dangerous for you”

“I can take care of myself, and I am strong more than you can see” then she smiles to Dexter.

Dexter presumed the lady is just kidding, how can she be strong more than a man? Possibly her family is just around busy doing business along the forest. No woman at her age can live alone in this place, he is very sure of that.

“May I know the name of my Savior, whom I owe my life”

Like any man Dexter become poetic in front of a beautiful lady like her. She is pretty charming and worthy of admiration to any man. He is not yet feeling well, but he is man in the presence of a woman who can arouse physical sexual attraction.

“I am Shayne, and I live in this place my whole life”

“Have you not wished to move somewhere else, away from here”

“No, I am this place, we are but one and the same”

Dexter speaks poetically but the woman in front of him, speaks idiomatically. She is not just ordinary woman; she is a woman with wisdom ang great understanding of things around. Shayne helped Dexter sit down leaning his back at bamboo post on the wall of the hut. Then she hands over a cup to Dexter containing something.

“You better, take this, so you can regain your strength in no time”

Dexter sees, it is a juice of something he does not know, a forest medicine. He is not in position to refuse with the kind hearted care of his host, he drinks it straight, even it does not taste good at all.

After taking the medicine, the lady gives some food and water to Dexter. Hungry for not eating almost two days, he ate all the food. Shayne leaves him afterwards, the cool breeze coming from the window make him sleepy and forget everything. He is tired and sick and his body actually needs a lot of rest.
