MY GIRLFRIEND IS A FAIRY

           Dexter is silently watching his target from the horizon, he calculated that the deer is possibly 600 meters away from him. The small shrubs and the vegetation give him an excellent covers plus the direction of the wind which is coming from the east, the direction of the deer. When he peeks on the sight scope of his gun, he doesn’t have clear focus of it, possibly because of the glare of the heat of the sun, or it because it is still far and out of range. It is almost noon, they have more than eight hours there in that thick forest, in the top of the mountain for a hunting expedition. They are all eight in the group, with complete equipment to face the harsh condition that they may possibly encounter. They separate to each other, so that everybody, may have a fair chance to kill a game by themselves. They have hand held radio transceivers, to contact each other, when it is needed

                Dexter doesn’t move, he waits the deer to move towards him, he knows it so elusive, it has excellent hearing and smell. A slightest sound from the dry leaves scattered around can send  it away, much more any strange sound that it may hear. It can also smell humans from a very far distance if the blow of the wind is coming from the direction of the hunter. Dexter knows them all, and he has done all repercussion in this situation. He aims his gun, he waits long, he needs to be patient and careful.

                The deer walks slowly toward him, while it is grassing, once in a while it stops, it put high its head and look around. It has not seen Dexter, it continuously grassing. Dexter waits and wait.

                Dexter peek again on the sight scope of his gun, he can see clearly his target now

                He squeezed the trigger of his gun slowly holding his breath.

                The sudden burst of gunfire disturbs the place

                The birds crawl, and fly away in panic.

                The deer also suddenly jump high and ran away

Dexter is sure he hit it, he aims well, and it that short distance, he is sure he will not miss his target.

Dexter run after the deer, believing it will collapse somewhere.

He will not let it scape from him. Once he gets it, he can brag with his companion, with his friends.

He sees there is a stain of blood going in the direction the deer ran, meaning it is wounded. He run fast as he could following the blood in grass. He run and run and almost out of breath. He is getting tired. He examined the bush and the grass looking for the deer, is nowhere to be found. The blood stain on the grass was lost. He does not know now; in what direction he will look for the wounded deer. He continues looking for an hour or more. He found nothing. He wasted a lot of time and effort. He is getting thirsty and hungry.

                Dexter looks for a good shade and rest there. He gets his food pact and eat. In his watch it is already two o clock in the afternoon. After eating, he turns on his radio transceiver, he tried to contact his companion, all squills and hissing sounds, he cannot contact anyone of his friends. He wonders, what happened. His radio is working well and it is not yet low of charge.

                Does he run so far, that they become out of range? There radios had a range of 4 to 5 kilometers away. Did he had exceeded that distance from any one of his friends? Dexter is getting nervous. He does not want to be left alone in the middle of this forest. He walks and walks until the darkness is slowly covering the horizon.

                He tried and tried calling his friends in the radio.

                No one answer him.

                He is now lost in the forest.

                He is alone.

                He does not know the way out in this forest.

                His compass is not working well. Its needle does not point in one direction.

                His friends have left him alone!

                He has nowhere to go.

The veil of darkness is slowly covering the whole place. He has consumed all his food and only half bottle of water remains. What is awaiting him here in the middle of the forest?
