*Selena's POV*
I didn't know what to expect when I said those words, but I definitely wasn't prepared to see him chuckle."Do you think I'll accept your rejection, Selena?"
"Why wouldn't you? It would be best for both of us. I don't want you, Alpha Duncan, and I'm determined to reject you countless times."
"But I want you, Selena. I've been searching for you for a long time, and now that I've found you, I won't simply let you go. You're my mate, and the sooner you accept that, the better.
"
"But I—"
"I don't care what you want," he interrupted, moving closer to me. He held my chin, ensuring I met his gaze.
"You're mine, Selena. You belong to me, and I won't let you go. I won't leave this pack without you. You'll come with me to where you truly belong," he said with a smirk.
I slapped his hand away. "And if I refuse?" I questioned defiantly. "You can't force me into something I don't want."
"If you refuse, be prepared to see your beloved pack reduced to ashes. I won't stop until I get what I want. I always get what I want, Selena. Don't test me."
"Are you threatening me!?" I seethed, my fists clenched in anger.
"If that's how you see it, then so be it." He turned his back to me. "Let's go back. We need to announce to everyone that you're coming with me," he said, leaving without giving me another glance.
As I watched him walk away, my hatred for him multiplied. I didn't want to leave with him, and I contemplated discussing this with my Alpha. Maybe he would help me.
I returned to the palace and found Alpha David and my brother Fred engaged in a discussion with Alpha Duncan outside.
When Alpha David saw me, he sighed with relief and motioned for me to approach.
"Selena, Alpha Duncan has expressed his desire for you to accompany him, and since you're his mate, I see no reason for you to refuse," Alpha David said.
I shook my head. "I can't do that, Alpha. I don't accept this bond. I can't leave with him," I refused, glaring fiercely at Duncan.
Duncan seemed calm and unaffected, which only fueled my anger further.
"You can't refuse, Selena. He's your mate, and you must accept this," Fred replied.
"What's gotten into you, Fred!? You're my brother. You should be on my side, not his!" I cautioned angrily, but neither Fred nor Alpha David said a word.
"What have you done to them, huh!?" I yelled at Duncan. "Did you dare to threaten them!?"
"Selena!" Alpha David called, his voice filled with disappointment. "Do not speak that way again. No one has threatened anyone. You will go with him. I won't hesitate to use force if necessary," he threatened.
I glanced at my Alpha and then at my brother, a sinking feeling settling in my chest. It dawned on me that no matter what I said, my words would hold no sway. Their decision had already been made, and it left me feeling powerless.Reluctantly, I agreed to accompany Duncan.
"Fine, I will go with you, but I have a condition," I stated firmly.
"You're my mate. I should grant you anything," he smirked.
"Even if it means your own life?" I questioned, a smirk forming on my lips. Seeing the anger flash in his eyes brought me a strange sense of satisfaction.
"Don't worry, Alpha. I won't ask for your life," I scoffed. "I'll go with you, but on one condition: you are not allowed to mark me. If you go against this, I promise you, I won't hesitate to end my own life," I declared with utmost seriousness.
"Alright, I agree," Duncan replied with a chuckle.
"I'll go pack my things," I said, turning away from Alpha David and Fred without giving them a second glance. I still felt betrayed that they had chosen to give me away instead of standing by my side.
Back in my room, I packed my things into a suitcase, muttering curses against Alpha Duncan. I couldn't believe my bad luck and wondered who had cursed me with this awful fate.
Thoughts raced through my mind: Why did I have to leave everything behind? Was there any way out of this? I felt a mix of frustration, anger, and sadness as I packed my belongings.
Each item reminded me of the life I was leaving behind, and it felt like losing a part of myself. But I had to make sacrifices, even if it meant sacrificing my own happiness.
As I packed, I heard the door open, and I turned to find Alpha David and my brother Fred entering.
Despite David being the Alpha of our pack, he had also been my childhood friend.
"You both must feel so satisfied after betraying me like this," I folded my arms, feeling a mix of anger and hurt.
"We're both sorry, Selena. Believe me, if we could have done anything to prevent this, we would have. But we can't risk a war with the Lycan king. The safety of the pack comes first," David explained with a tinge of regret.
"I'm sorry too, Sis. But Alpha David is right. We don't stand a chance against him in a battle. It's for the best," Fred added.
I understood their reasoning, and I couldn't bear the thought of harm befalling the pack because of me.
"It's okay, you two. I appreciate what you did. No matter what happens, the pack's safety should always be our priority," I said, managing a smile.
"Just take care of my brother, Alpha. I won't be here to watch over him anymore, so I'm entrusting him to your care."
"You have my word, Selena. Fred will be safe here," David assured me, and I nodded.
We held each other tightly, cherishing our last moments together. Tears welled up in our eyes as we realized the inevitable separation that awaited us.
"I'm going to miss you both so much," I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion.
Alpha David and Fred hugged me even tighter, their love and support comforting me in this difficult time.
"We'll miss you too, Selena," David said, his voice filled with sadness. "Stay strong and take care of yourself."
Fred nodded, his eyes sparkle with unshed tears. "You're always in our hearts, sis. We'll keep the pack safe, I promise."
I choked back a sob, unable to find the right words to express my gratitude. Instead, I squeezed them tighter, silently conveying my love and appreciation.
But David eventually broke the embrace, a somber expression on his face. "Duncan is waiting for you, Selena," he said softly. "We shouldn't keep him any longer."
Reluctantly, I pulled away, wiping away my tears. With a heavy heart, I nodded and took a deep breath, steeling myself for what lay ahead. It was time to face my destiny, even if it meant leaving behind those I held dear.
I finished packing my suitcase, and together, we made our way outside. Duncan's guards helped load my luggage into the car, and I bid farewell to my brother and Alpha David once again before stepping into the vehicle with Duncan.
I had no idea what awaited me in the Lycan king's pack, but little did I know that I would soon face unexpected challenges and trials.
*Selena's POV*As we embarked on the journey to Duncan's pack, the hours seemed to stretch endlessly. The landscape outside the car window blurred into a hazy mix of colors, indicating the passing time. My mind drifted, lost in a windstorm of thoughts and emotions.I couldn't help but wonder how this decision would affect my life. Leaving behind everything I knew and journeying into the unknown was both frightening and exhilarating. My heart fluttered with a mix of eagerness and unease.Glancing at Duncan, who sat beside me, I couldn't read the thoughts behind his indifferent expression. We hadn't exchanged a single word since we set off, and the silence between us was both a blessing and a curse. It offered respite from his overbearing presence, but it also left me alone with my twisted thoughts.I pondered over the circumstances that led me here. The twist of fate that bound me to him as his mate felt like a cruel joke. How did I end up with a man who fills me with fury to no end? T
*Selena's POV*The next day, I wandered through the palace, exploring its corridors and rooms. I hoped to enjoy the grandeur and beauty of the place without Duncan's interference. However, no matter how hard I tried to avoid him, he persisted in pestering me. It was frustrating and irritating. I just wanted some peace and solitude, away from his constant presence. But it seemed like he had other plans, determined to make himself a nuisance in my life. One thing I also came to notice was the sexual relationship Duncan seems to share with the females here and it made me angry seeing them shamelessly flirting with him and him doing absolutely nothing about it.And as for me, each time they see me, they all kept looking at me like I was some sort of alien who fell from another planet, but I choose to ignore them instead and glared at anyone who gave me a look of disgust.Tired of all the drama, I went back to my room. I couldn't stop thinking about what was happening at the pack and how
*Selena's POV*It had been a whole week since I arrived here, and I did my best to avoid Lina's trouble. But if she wanted a fight, I was ready to stand up for myself.Duncan's naughty behavior kept getting worse with each passing day. Whenever he saw me, he would tease and make sexual comments, trying to get a reaction out of me. I tried my hardest to ignore him and not let his words affect me.Sitting near the window, I found comfort in watching the full moon shining brightly. It was peaceful until I heard a knock on my door, breaking the silence.I felt curious and cautious about who could be at the door. Should I answer it or ignore it? After a moment of hesitation, my curiosity won, and I answered."Come in." I said as I stood up and then Duncan walked in looking so serious."What do you want?""Take off you mask Selena, I've been asking you to do this but you keep refusing, take the damn thing off and let me see your face." He ordered."So that's the reason you came all the way
*ALPHA DUNCAN’S POV*She looked at me with anger in her eyes as she stood in front of me in her room.It was obvious that she wasn't someone that would give up easily. "I think it is time that you excuse yourself from my presence Alpha. If you think you can come in here and try to have your way with me as you do other girls in this mansion, you are way over your head mister." She said in an angry tone."I Selena Gomez Rain will never allow, Alpha Duncan have his way with me." She boldly declared, her voice firm and not shaky.I laughed, trying to keep it cool. "What do you mean to make use of you?" I asked. "You kissed me on the lips!" I yelled as she spoke back at me.And you gave a reply." In an effort to justify myself, I said.In addition, since you are my mate, you are mine to enjoy anytime I like.Selena's jaw clenched, and she retaliated,"You are so unwise to ever think that I would accept you as my partner, anytime you come here I feel really uncomfortable."I've explain
Alpha Duncan's PovAs I sat at the dining table, picking at my breakfast, I noticed the maid bustling around, attending to various tasks. With a hopeful tone, I casually inquired, “Hey, has Selena come for breakfast yet?”The maid paused for a moment for a moment, glancing at me with a slight frown before replying. “No, Alpha, I haven’t seen Miss Selena this morning. Shall I prepare a plate for her just in case?”I shrugged nonchalantly, trying to hide my disappointment. “No, that won’t be necessary. Thank you Bethany,” I replied. The maid gave a small curtsy and returned to her chores, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I couldn’t help but wonder where Selena was and why she hadn’t joined me for breakfast.Perhaps she was avoiding me, or maybe she was simply busy with other matters. Whatever the reason I felt a sense of unease settling over me.Why did I care so much if she had breakfast with us or not? It shouldn’t matter, right? But deep down, I knew it did matter, more than I
SELENA’S POVAlpha Duncan's kiss was a topic I wasn't ready to address. I tried to convince myself it was a mistake and should never happen again. Nevertheless, his presence still had a significant impact on me.Despite not wanting him as my mate, I couldn't resist being drawn to him. The idea of him with other women angered me, and I detested cheaters like him.I chose to remain in my room, allowing my thoughts to consume me. My mind was filled with questions. Why did I feel so torn about him? Did I still find myself attracted to him despite knowing he was deceitful? Was I deceiving myself or genuinely convinced I could reject him as my mate?Feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do, I decided to take a walk to clear my mind. As I approached the door, my hand hesitated. The thought of running into Alpha Duncan made me anxious, and I wasn't sure if I could handle that encounter. It was intimidating to think of confronting him after all the feelings he had sparked. I felt unprepar
ALPHA DUNCAN’S POV“Hey,” I said, causing her to startle. Her face scrunched up in irritation, and she shout the puzzle book with a snap.“What do you want?” She demanded, her voice cold.“Just checking on you,” I said. “You’ve been cooped up in here all day.” I said.“I’m fine,” she said, turning her back to me. “Now leave me alone.”she said coldly.I knew that I had hit a spot and needed to be careful of the next word to say.I tried a different method."Selena," I said softly. “Look, I know we’ve had our difference, but I want to make sure you’re okay. Can we just talk?”“Honestly, there is absolutely nothing that we need to talk about. I hate you and that will never change.”“While I’m not particularly fond of you, I think it’s best if we put our differences aside and try to coexist as cordially as possible. There’s no need to discuss the past and the kiss, and I’m not interested in arguing with you. Let’s move on.”She hesitated before looking at me, her expression cautious. "Alr
SELENA’S POVAlpha Duncan got up and headed towards the door. Then I spoke.“What could be the issue?” I asked.“I don’t know yet. I need to find out. Now, if you excuse me.” He said and was about to go out of the door when I asked if I could come?“Can I come too?” I asked looking at his face for approval. After a second of silence. He accepted.“Sure you can come along and so we both went to the coucil chamber. When we got there, I saw Muna there as well. Oh my blood was boiling as I hate her guts.“What’s she doing here?” Muna asked obviously not happy with my presence.“She is here to help.” Alpha Duncan replied.“Muna, please don't start this now. We have bigger things to deal with.” Alpha Duncan said, trying to keep the peace. “I need your input on what's going on with the pack.”Muna glared at me but kept her tongue in check. I could tell she was seething with anger, but I did my best to keep my cool.“What's the issue?” I asked, trying to sound as respectful as possible. I kne
