He is so arrogant, how could I have thought that first impression for him didn't matter. At least his first impression is way better than the second one, I mean who takes someone he had just met to his investment office to show her his investments.
If he was hoping that I would just jump into bed with him after I have seen how much he has, he is going to be so surprise when he sees how off marker he is.
"Hello, good afternoon Mr. Adeyemi, can I get something for you to drink?" the same girl who has been yapping around him since he stepped into the building asked, this time she had popped a button on her top and was leaning towards him, giving him an eyeful... or would have if he was looking but he barely glanced at her which meant he was used to this kind of scenario happening often.
"No thank you I am not parched." Kola as I have relearnt his name said not even looking at her. "Babe, what about it you?" He asked looking at my face.
"Clean sparkling water." I tell her with a smile as she look towards my direction with a frown on her face.
Kola nodded at her without even checking her out as I struggle not to laugh, I would have like Kola's behavior if he didn't chose this place.
"Why the face?" he asked.
"Nothing." I replied, quickly smoothing my expression.
"If we are going to be friends, you have to stop lying, it is not something that I take lightly." Kola informs me with a frown as I snorted at him.
"Pretty high handed of you to assume that we will be friends, after this obligatory meeting, I would delete and block your number and get on with my life." I tell him simply as he stared at me in shock.
"What did I do now?" he asked.
"I don't like arrogant people." I tell him.
"Arrogant?" he asked confused.
"Don't act like you are not aware of what you are doing, so you carried me here to show me that you have hundreds of thousands in investment so I would fall in bed with you or what?" I demanded and when he opened his mouth to talk again, I cut him short as I continued. "Let me tell you it won't work, you are not the first person to throw money at me and think that I will just fall into your arms naked. It won't work."
"If I wanted someone in my bed, there are dozens of applicants, you just met one of them and they certainly won't give me the kind of wahala (stress) you are giving me. I also was not throwing money at you, I have never done that and the reason why we are here is because I need to do this today and also you told me you couldn't be brought, remember?"
"so you decided to see if I would go back on my words." I fumed.
"No, I decided that you can accompany and you wouldn't change your mind about me because of money. That is refreshing and one of the reasons why I want to be your friend."
"Let's call a spade, a spade here. You are not looking for friendship." I voiced.
"True but I am also not looking to jump into being more without trying out that friendship route fist." Kola replied as I glared at him.
"So if I get naked for you now..."
"I will cover you up, put you on a cab and you will never hear from me again." He replied without missing a beat. I leant back into my chair as I regarded his words.
I was wrong about him.
And I am happy about that.
And that gave me mixed feelings, he just gave me an out. If I never wanted to see him again, all I had to do was get naked for him but did I want to take that.
"Nice Try mister man but I will not try to do something that extreme just to get you off my back." I tell him as he rolled his eyes at me.
"Who turned you into the cynical person, because I don't think you were born this way." Kola asked me with all seriousness and when I glared at him he added. "You became judge, jury and executioner on my character without giving me a chance to explain myself. You concluded that the reason why I was doing what I was doing was because selfish not looking at it from my perspective that I was trying to protect myself. I don't like judgmental people." Kola stated firmly as I hid my face in embarrassment, I had that coming all along with the bitchy way I was acting.
Before I could open my mouth to defend myself because that was the route I was taking, the door opened and two men stepped outside, one nodded at us and left while the other approached Kola and gave him a man hug. "My Guy, how far na, wetin you dey do for here."
"No be you threaten me say if I nor come, you nor go accept any money from me." Kola replied with a roll of his eyes as the guy smiled.
"I be nor know say you go run come, na just yesterday here we be get that conversation." The guy chuckled.
"So you speak pidgin in the office Victor." Kola asked as Victor smiles.
"Any one make go make the company money na I go speak." Victor replied cheekily. "But, let's get serious. Welcome Mr. Adeyemi."
I was so shocked at the 360 change that my jaw dropped, the action made the guy look at me fully. "Well hello pretty. I'm Victor and you?"
"Nor even go there." Kola warns Victor who laughs but stops when he caught a look on Kola face.
"Stella." I replied as Victor nodded.
"Nice to meet you Stella." Victor said, this time with more respect and less roaming eyes, it was as if something had passed between them and Victor was acting more courteous because of it. "Shall we take this inside?"
"Sure." Kola said as he placed his hand on my back to guide me inside, it was the most intrusive touch he has ever place on me and yet, it didn't feel that way at all.
“Who is it?” I shouted as I stood up, a little woozy from my excessive drinking even though my head was clearer now. I opened the door without looking. “What?” I screamed into the face of the person.“Gross. Try that again and I will hurt you.” Stella threatened from my door step as I blinked a couple of times to determine that she was real. “So are you going to let me in or am I going to force my way in?” she demanded and her words broke me out of my stupor, I stopped blocking the doorway so she could enter.“Stella what are you doing here?” I asked her as I shut the door behind her and followed her to the sitting room.“If you are not happy to see me just tell me now so I can leave?”“What’s the point, you are leaving either way.” I tell her not referring to her leaving my house. Her sa
“I can’t believe that you are leaving me in Nigeria. This is not fair oh.” Ivy complains as she tries another of my shoes on.“Madam, shey you supposed to dey help me pack.” I glanced at her but continued to zip my luggage up.“Eh en, wetin you think say I dey do so?” Ivy commented as she smiled at the shoes she had on. “Dash me this one na, you will see beta ones to buy in Georgia.”“Ivy.” I complained.“Alright.” She removes the shoes. “I still think that I need it more than you though.”Before I could reply her for her statement, my phone rang, I saw it was an unknown number but I picked the call without hesitation. It could be Bode, he recently lost his phone and has been using different numbers to call. Buy phone in Nigeria like a normal person but no, he has to order one

Today was the day. I breathed out heavily, hoping to release the tension I was feeling but it didn’t help. I was going to attend Tomi Traditional marriage, the white wedding was tomorrow but I wasn’t sure I could get the chance to have a private chat with Kola then.“Are you sure you want to do this?” Bode asks.“Of course, she will so be worried about my presence, I want her to feel uncomfortable a little bit.”“But it is Kola brother who is getting married, why will the bride feel that way?” Bode asked again as I smiled at him. He doesn’t know the full story and no matter how much I was upset with Tomi and Kola, I wouldn’t tell another soul what happened since it can affect her happily ever after. I didn’t get mine because of her but that doesn’t mean that I will repay evil with evil.“Okay oh, let’s go.” Bode said as I smiled and came down from his car the same time he did and rou
Uncle Tony made good of his threat, he left jail the next day after posting bail. He also sent men to kidnap me but the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crime Commission) swooped in and arrested him. Apparently, according to the small information that I could hear while I was still bundled up in the kidnappers nest when everything had gone down, Uncle Tony was being investigated, had been for a while and that someone tipped them off that something was going to happen to me so they watched me too and used this to pin Uncle Tony down.“… Chief Anthony decided to confess his crimes for a reduction in his sentence, from NTA, I am Aisha Yusef reporting.” Bode clicked the TV off in my hospital room.“We need to celebrate.” Bode turns with a flourish and a grin so wide, you could probably count his thirty two teeth.“Alcoholic beverages please.” Ivy added after letting out a whoop and a shocking waist roll that
“You asked to see me Kola?” Tomi asked as she entered my office, she must have gotten my text the night before, I sent it the night before and I couldn't care less when she got it. It didn't matter to me if she had to rush here. Somehow she must know that this is our last time together.“Have a seat.” I tell her. When she sat down she started to talk but I didn’t call her here to listen to her talks, I called her here for her to listen to me. “I never meant for you to be unhappy Kola, believe me…”“Stop, I am not in the mood for your apologies. Why did you do it? That’s all I want to know, why on earth were you convinced that you like me or that I liked you, yeah sure, I might have liked the idea of us being more but that was because you were a safe place for me, why did you have to ruin it?”“Because I thought we would be more.” Tomi
