“Morning dear, don’t be scared. Remember that you’re my brave little wolf.”

In that moment of pain and fear, my mother was like a holy being from the heavens. Sent by the Moon goddess, specifically to rescue me from my plight.

I found that the tears that had evaded me at my juvenile realization of the true meaning of death finally came in full force.

My tears flowed freely and I hugged tightly to my mother’s waist.

Her gaze turned back to the fire she had just leaped over. The wall of flames had grown even higher as the wood burned more readily. I noticed that she had sustained a few burns on her body from when she had leaped over it earlier.And now it was far worse.

But I wasn’t worried because I knew my mother would always find a way to solve every problem that I could bring towards her. That was the way it had always been. And of course this was just another problem that I had caused so she would be able to solve it easily.
