“I may be able to get something to do the trick.” I said carefully.

Our conversation had just become very very dangerous.

What I was currently peddling was highly prohibited in the packlands. Wolfsbane was far too potent a poison. With a few tea spoons of the powder having the potency to kill a wolf. A single tea spoon is enough to prevent shifting, that was a state that no wolf would want. Being unable to shift was like loosing your arm or worse. You lost an instinctual ability that you had for half of your life- or at least the parts that mattered.

Apart from Wolfsbane, I knew of no other poisons that could threaten a wolf, talkless an Alpha.

I turned to Olivia, her skin shone in the moonlight.

“I knew you would be able to get something.” She said with a knowing smile.

I felt a shiver run down my spine. I had only taken her as a girl with an attractive body before then. Just another female for me to conquer. But that night I felt there was more to her. And I decided to be more cauti

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 151: MORNING

The knife inched forward. Images of Phoenix and the team. Images of the laughter we shared. The fear as we ran for our lives. The companionship. I remembered how Phoenix looked at me. It was different from how people usually looked at me. There was no hate or fear in his eyes. Only… love. There was no way I was going down here. Not when all their lives were at risk! Even though I had already lost a lot of blood and I only had one hand to work with, which just happened to be my left hand because why not. Even with all that, I wasn’t going to give up! Slowly, the hunters focused expression changed. He looked calm and assured as he used all his strength and willpower to move my own dagger closer to my neck. But he no longer felt assured. That was because his wrist had already started turning. My progress was far from quick, but it happened slowly but surely. The hunter’s facial expression morphed as his wrist turned further and further. Soon the tip of the blade

The burning sensation subsided. But it was almost impossible to notice because of how badly my hand hurt. I had been bleeding badly before, but once I removed the dagger my blood loss grew at an alarming rate. I swung my head sideways and the dagger flew away. It was at a safe distance. Neither I nor the hunter would be able to get it at this point. My blood sprayed all over the hunter under me and his face contorted. I gritted my teeth. If there was ever a time when I felt like screaming, it was now. The pain that assaulted me was on another level. And the blood loss affected me mentally. I knew that it shouldn’t actually have any effects this early, but my mind didn’t seem fully convinced of that matter. I felt as if my life was flowing out of my hand. I got temporarily dazed because of that. It was understandable, but it was still a mistake. I had underestimated the hunter when I remembered that he was a rookie from Phoenix’s explanations. I learned a lesson that no h

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 149: MORNING

The silvery point of the dagger stuck out through the back of my palm. It was already painted in blood. At first, I didn’t feel much pain. That was because I had moved quickly under the threat of death. My mind had been too occupied to worry about an injury. But the very second I was able to stabilize the situation by restraining the hunter again, my body decided to inform me about the injury. My hand tightly held on to the hunter's hand even with the knife sticking through.Even when I felt the burning sensation that silver caused in wolves, I didn’t let go. I knew that letting go would just be giving my life to the hunter under me.He had already shown that he was going to kill me at the first chance he got and without any hesitation to both.If only I could be more like him in that aspect. The hunter tried to move his hand away. At first he tried retracting the knife, but I held tightly to it. His motion caused the blade to shift inside my palm. It caused a great amount of pa

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 148: MORNING

I was almost too slow to notice it.I pinned the hunter to the ground and stared him down as I asked him questions to help pour out my growing rage. For years I had been suffering from the consequences of actions carried out by hunters. And now, for the first time, I had a hunter within my grasp. I wasn’t sure what to do with him at first. I knew I should kill him but I quickly came to the realization that killing wasn’t as easy as I thought.I then started asking him questions. Of course I was genuinely questioning him. There wasn’t really any vital information I felt I could acquire from him. We weren’t lacking information. And even if we were, I soon discovered that he was only a low level hunter. What could he know?My questions were really just taunting and a way for me to pour out my anger. The hunter’s reaction was underwhelming to say the least. Instead of giving any kind of satisfactory reaction, he just cowered in fear through out the entire interrogation. It was actua

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 147: MORNING

The forest was silent around us.I held the hunter down and stared directly at him. He stared back at me with a horrified gaze.I was in the middle of a very huge dilemma. How could I kill someone? It wasn’t like I didn’t believe I could. I had already seen that my strength greatly surpassed these humans. Right now the hunter was completely living based on my mercy. It turned out that they weren’t actually so tough when you took away their silver weapons. In fact, he was actually very scared.“What… are you?” The hunter asked again.I frowned at him, but I decided to answer him this time. I had not been able to make a decision on what to do with yet, so I decided to just reply him. Who knows? Maybe I would be able to come to some sort of realization after replying him. Or maybe I would be able to muster the resolve to simply kill him. “I’m a wolf.” I replied. I wasn’t going to hide what I was from him so I told him in the most direct way possible. I did it deliberately becau

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 146: MORNING

I noticed the whistle immediately. My mind worked very quickly in that instant as I made the connection between the whistle the hunter had a the one that Phoenix had showed us.I remembered how Phoenix told us that the whistle was a way for the hunters to alert their other members. The hunter was far away from me. I had been very wary when I saw him at first and I didn’t even know what to do. But once I saw the whistle I knew that I could no longer back down. What I did now would have a great effect on our plan. The hunter was going to alert the other hunters in his team. Once he did that, there was no turning back.My entire body tensed up and I dashed forward. If not for the special circumstances then I might have had a different reaction to seeing a hunter. But there was no hesitation now. I just had to think of Phoenix and realize that this would be threatening his safety. That was enough motivation. Talk less of when I thought of all the others. I had actually grown an attac
