~Nyra

“What?” I exclaimed, glaring at her in shock.

None of this made sense to me anymore.

“H–how?” I blinked multiple times at her. “You’re a human and he’s a werewolf. Not just any kind, but a Lycan—and the King, too.”

She folded her arms and waited for me to finish ranting.

“You’re not of the same status or species. He’s not even in your league. Where did you even meet him? When did you fall in love? When did you get married?” I screamed.

Mother smiled. “I told you I still had charm, but you never believed me. I’m not that old, Nyra. I gave birth to you. I know my worth—even as a human. No man can resist me. Not even a Lycan King.”

I parted my lips, baffled by the fact that she chose now, of all times, to brag.

“Mom, do you even realize what you’re walking into? It means you’re automatically his Luna, and that pulls you into his world of supernatural beings. Do you think the other werewolves here will welcome a human Luna?”

She sighed. “You worry too much. The werewolves here respect their king. They won’t dare do anything that could anger me. And since we’re in love, they’ll accept me.”

I scoffed at the word. “In love? Mom, I’ve never seen you interested in a man before. Sometimes I wonder how you even charmed my father—may his soul rest in peace.”

She waved me off. “Believe what you want. It won’t change the fact that I’m already married, and we’re moving in with him immediately.”

“We?” I shrieked.

“Shut up. Don’t scream at your mother!” she snapped. “I’m doing this for us. How long do you plan on running from Eryndor? Aren’t you tired of moving from place to place? We can’t keep doing this forever. Eventually, they’ll catch up to us.”

I released a shaky breath, an involuntary shiver running down my spine. I was no longer just afraid of Eryndor—but also the triplets I’d encountered the night before.

“Mom, it’s not safe here. I didn’t escape those vampires on my own. Some werewolves showed up—and they wanted to claim me.” I paused, giving her the most terrified look I could muster. “I’ve never been so scared in my life. They were worse than Eryndor, and they promised they’d come back for me.”

Mother clenched her jaw before sighing—something we both did when we were overwhelmed.

“The fact that they let you go means they don’t intend to hurt you… Besides, once we move in with Reid, he’ll make sure no one lays a hand on you. He’s ready to accept you as his daughter, Nyra.”

I swallowed hard. “But Mom, we don’t know what we’re walking into. You’re tying us to Blood Hollow with this marriage. Once we move in, there’s no going back.”

“Don’t you want to feel protected for once? Don’t you want to sleep peacefully at night?” she pressed.

“I’m scared, Mom. I don’t want to be trapped again…”

She hugged me then. “I’m sorry I couldn’t give you the protection you deserved as a child. But I promise this is the best path for us. Reid will protect us from Eryndor. We can finally stop running.”

In the end, I gave in. I had to go with the flow and let her handle things this time.

By evening, a luxurious black car came to pick us up.

Cars were almost extinct now, and only the elite had access to them. Never in my life did I think I’d ride in one—until now.

“I told you things would get better, didn’t I?” Mom said, wiggling her brows.

A man stepped out and bowed. “I am Kelvin. I will be your driver to the Thornevale Estate. Please, allow me to carry your luggage.”

For the first time in my life, a man of higher status was speaking to me with respect. It felt like a dream.

“Mom, pinch me.”

“You’re not dreaming, Nyra. It’s real.” She smiled at Kelvin. “Our luggage is over there.”

She pointed to the door where we had stacked everything. He nodded and lifted them two at a time.

I blinked as he loaded our bags and opened the car door.

It wasn’t until we started driving that everything truly hit me. I began trembling—a strange mix of fear, nerves, and excitement swirling inside me.

I stayed silent the entire ride, gasping only when Thornevale Estate came into view. My breath caught. My nerves spiked.

“We’re here,” Mom whispered as the enormous mansion emerged from the trees.

It sat on vast land, surrounded by beautiful landscape—and yet, it gave off an unsettling feeling. I couldn’t shake the sense of dread.

Kelvin parked in front of the grand entrance, where a tall man stood flanked by maids and guards.

“Reid!” Mom called as we stepped out.

“Lyora, my beloved. I almost thought you wouldn’t come,” he said, his voice heavy with authority.

“Why would I stay away from you? You’re my husband now. You’re stuck with me,” she giggled.

Reid turned to me. “You must be Nyra. I’ve heard a lot about you from your mother. You’re just as beautiful as she said.”

He took my hand and kissed the back of my palm. “It’s an honor to have you as a daughter.”

I widened my eyes. Mom wasn’t lying—he was really ready to accept me.

“Nyra, meet my sons—Sylver, Cassian, and Rylan,” he said, stepping aside. “Boys, come out and welcome your new sister.”

My breath caught in my throat. My mother had forgotten to mention one very important detail.

He had children.

And those “children”…

Were the exact triplets I’d run into last night.

“What a small world…” the green-eyed one whispered.

My blood ran cold. My mind blanked out. The world tilted beneath me.

I had walked right into the hands of the monsters I thought I’d escaped.

“Nyra? Are you okay?” Mom’s voice came from somewhere distant.

My legs gave out beneath me. I started to fall—

And just before darkness claimed me, I felt warm arms catch me.

The last thing I saw were glowing green eyes.

And the last thing I heard—

“Welcome into my territory, sister…”

~NYRA“May the soul of the departed, our dear Lycan King Ried… And his Son, Prince Lyon Thornevale, the brave witch princess, Kalista… and all those who died in this war rest in perfect light…” the officiating priest announced. It had been weeks since we defeated Varek. He was gone for good. Odette was gone too… but I could still feel her as a memory that sharpened my thoughts. And somehow, Cassian tried to bring back some normalcy in the land starting with this ceremony. We all stood there, paying our last respect…I stood between my mother and Danielle, who had been given life back the moment Kalista died.Rylan, Sylver and Cassian were by Ried’s casket performing the rites as his sons.As I watched, my feelings were mixed. I was sad, true. But I was also happy.Especially for Lyon. Even in death, he got the title of a prince. He got recognized, bringing pride to his mother. And his people, Cassian didn’t let them go empty handed. Kai was pardoned and they worked a treaty with the c

~ODETTEEverything inside of me shattered as I watched in horror what Cassian had done to himself.Time stopped and it felt like each of us were stuck in our own little box of denial.Rylan was shaking. Lyora’s eyes were wide with shock… And Sylver, he still kept fighting the invisible hold around him so he could attack Varek or stop Cassian… who was already dead…And this hit me even harder…How could he do this? How could he dare kill himself? Who gave him the right to sacrifice himself when I was here?“I was going to fix this… Cassian didn’t have to—” the words stumbling out of me suddenly stopped as a blinding pain shut through me.It erupted from deep within my core and life essence. And I screamed…But so did Varek. We both dropped to our knees and through my own pain, I saw his increase…“No… No… NO!” He roared as his skin started glowing with what could only be an inner explosion. Then I felt it. From deep within me… where our connection was rooted, I felt it snap. Then like

~CASSIANI still had control of my senses. I just couldn’t override Varek’s commands. They were like the commands of an alpha. The only difference was that he was a million times stronger than the regular.I just couldn’t refuse him. No matter how hard I tried. And I knew that consistently fighting back would only drain me. So I pretended to soften while I tried to think of a way out.It wasn’t hard to zero the options to Kalista. But as I went to move her to the car and her state became clear—I knew that even that plan was dead on arrival because Kalista couldn’t save us. She was dying.Fear crashed brutally into me— Especially when Varek commanded that I leave her there. But just as my body robotically moved to obey Varek, Kalista’s bloody fingers grabbed my wrist.“You can— you can end this.” She whispered. “Only you have the power to end this—”My eyes narrowed. I wanted to ask her questions and my body was already on the verge of fighting Varek’s control— when Kalista added;“Do

~ODETTE“No. Father… wake up…” Rylan cried out, holding firmly to Ried’s lifeless hand as if that could bring him back.“Come-on, we forgive you! I forgive you— just wake up… Please.” Rylan continued, his voice breaking with every sound.Something pierced my heart. But I quickly moved my attention to Sylver and Cassian.Unlike their younger brother, they didn’t say a word. They just held their father, trying to be strong. But I saw the tears trickling silently down their faces. The sight was like swallowing pieces of broken bottles. It tore through my heart in ways that I refused to admit.Ried wasn’t my favourite Werewolf. In fact his arrogance and silly pride got on my nerves most of the time—Yet, seeing him lifeless and the triplets crying over him, I couldn’t deny the tug stirring deep within me.But I ignored it and focused on the fact that Lyora wasn’t hurt.Varek’s evil claws had not gone through her— if they had…My brain quickly shut out the thoughts as the pain in my heart

~LYORADeath was coming for me.My heart was pounding hard as Cassian and Sylver held me down.I was struck between shock and horror. I didn’t know how to act.My whole life, I never thought death would come for me like this… I never thought this would be the end…And my daughters…My eyes slowly went to Odette and I saw that the calm she was trying to portray just moments ago was gone. It was replaced with fear. She was trembling in Rylan’s strong grip, unable to break free.“Lyora!” She snarled, trying one last time to kick out of his hold.“My child…” I mouthed, my tears masking my voice. “My poor child!”“You need to run, Lyora! Run!” She screamed. The pain in her voice made the moment stand still. And somehow, it was no longer Odette, the Old priestess… but my Nyra.Tears streamed down her eyes as she fought Rylan’s hold. “Mother, you need to run!”Her screams jolted me back to the moment and adrenaline pumped through me like a drug.I jumped to my feet, the sudden movement catch

~ODETTEHoly fucking goddess! My heart exploded as the new idiot jumped into my perfect plan. Ruining everything!“Shit!” Lyora cussed under her breath. “Not this guy again.”My senses instantly stood alert at her words. It was clear that the new fool wasn’t random.I scanned him carefully using Nyra’s memory paths. At first I found nothing, until I saw it.He was an old acquaintance of Lyon— the real Lyon. And his pathetic name was Kai.My eyes then took in everyone’s expression and it confirmed my discovery.Lyora’s eyes were wide as she tried to figure out what was going on…But I pieced it together. This Kai didn’t just stumble out of nowhere. He must have been the intuition the witch Kalista kept having. He must have been eavesdropping on their conversations and then trailed them all the way here…“Huh,” I scoffed as my racing heart calmed.Maybe my plans were ruined, but seeing the look on Varek’s face, it was clear that Kai didn’t know what he was up against. The fool thought h
