Maeve POVWe lay down on the mat, our stomachs full, as we stared at the sky.“I am so full,” I groaned. He chuckled, his head near my neck. He was actually facing me, his hand on my stomach.“You wouldn’t stop eating,” he said, his hand moving to my baby hair.“It was so good. I had to finish it,” I said, gulping. Maeve POVI remove the blanket covering my body, putting my feet down.“What do you mean?” I asked. He sighed, coming to sit beside me.“The guards received a note today, and according to the note, the person is asking for your custody or he attacks the pack,” he said. I sighed, breathing out. Is it because of me they killed everyone in the pack? They wanted me. But why? Maeve POV I breathe out heavily, lost in thoughts. The conversation was just replaying repeatedly in my head. I didn’t want to believe it, but I knew deep down it was all true. Father always taught me how to control my temper. He knew of the destruction I was going to cause if I ever got angry beyond control. He knew about everything, but why didn’t he tell me? He should have warned me of the dangers ahead. So does that mean I have a psycho moon goddess behind me and an enemy that wiped out my entire pack? Maeve POVIt’s been two weeks since I found out about Selene. These past few weeks have been very boring for me. I sleep, eat, and repeat. Ario has been very busy trying to train the warriors, and I am usually with Maya most times. She introduced me to her pup, Lana, and she is a bubbly little thing. I can’t wait to carry my pup in my hand. I see how Maya looks at her, and I want the same for myself. Talking about Ario, he has been busy but always followed me for doctor's appointments; the pup is growing healthy; I am healthy, and now I can’t even hide my pregnancy again. Maeve POVI looked at Ario as he came out of the bathroom in his towel. His hair was wet, his lips a dark pink, but a frown sat on his handsome face as he glared at me.“You look cute when you are angry,” I said, smiling widely. He growled at me as I entered the closet. A few seconds later, he came out wearing black joggers with the band of his boxers out. He sighed, coming to me and carrying the tray off my lips, then he left again. I chuckled, laying down. He is mad at me for acting recklessly today. He has been mad at me and growling at me since, but I find his anger cute because, what can I say, he is still doing what he will normally do. Maeve POV“We are here,” Ario said, looking outside the car window. I looked outside, and everything was in ruins. The door opened, and Ario came down, helping me down. I took a deep breath as my feet touched the ground, and I didn’t get any familiar scents. My heart ached as I looked at the pack grounds. This used to be a bubbly place, with pups running around, parents taking a stroll or just going about their day, the beautiful houses—they are all gone. Now the air smells like death; the once-fine buildings have collapsed; some don’t have any roofs. I sighed, holding my tears. This is really just so sad.“Should I tell the warriors to excuse us?” Ario asked in the link, holding my hand.“No, let’s walk around,” I mind link, walking forward, and he followed me quietly. Ario POVI stood by the wall, looking at everyone as they had gloomy faces and most of them were crying with Maeve, who was whimpering. There are two things I noticed on getting here: 1 was how much they loved their alpha, they respect him, cherished him and how they missed him. Alpha Harold was a strong-willed man, he was a great alpha, and he definitely earned my respect, he was there alpha and he loved everyone, treated them right and put them above himself, he was fearless and he died as a warrior; he protected his pack, and that’s why he deserved all the love. Another thing I noticed is how they love each other. They are an actual family, strong together and vulnerable together. Eve never liked crying in front of anyone. She held her tears while she was with me and cried in the room alone. Sometimes she looked on the verge of crying, her eyes watering and her jaws locked but she never cries, but here she is crying openly. She didn’t hold back her tears, and she didn’t need to.

Ario POVIt has been a half an hour, and I haven’t gotten tired of watching the wolves. I was mesmerised; I was impressed, and I couldn’t just stop staring at them. They played together, colliding into one another playfully. With the howl in the air, the teenagers were doing really silly things. One male wolf jumped on another male wolf playfully, and he growled at him. Then another male wolf came, bowing for the other wolf he jumped on, and I could tell that was his father. But it all ended in loud wolf laughter as he licked his father’s face, running away. The men laughed together, running after him, and I was just so happy. It really takes a village to raise a child, and that’s what they are doing.“You’ve been watching them for some time now,” I heard a deep voice say, breaking me out of my thoughts.
