LOGINAlicia stood speechless in the living room after her mother left them. The house helps were terrified as they feared those gunmen were robbers. But no one was killed, except that Mr. Max was kidnapped.
The head maid had even phoned the policemen, who arrived a few minutes later. "We heard that Mr. Max was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen. Is that true?" one of the two policemen asked. However, the second policeman's eyes fell on Alicia, and he rushed to her. "Babe, what's going on? Is this where you live with your family?" Samantha and Caden's eyes widened in shock as they hadn't expected the policeman to know Alicia. "Yes, Jonathan. This is where my family and I live," Alicia lowered her head in shame, knowing that she had been keeping it a secret of where her family now lived. She recalled five years ago that she heard her parents arguing. Since then, their lives hadn't remained the same. "Tell me, what happened to your father. You need to give us the report on how to help him get his release from the unknown gunmen?" Jonathan Leonardo asked Alicia. He was a 32-year-old guy, and he loved Alicia so much and wanted to marry her, but she kept on dribbling the talk of coming to see her father for her hand in marriage. "No, John. You cannot do anything to save my father. He owed Damian Tucker, the ruthless mafia boss," Alicia announced, moving away from John's embrace. She called him John for short. "What?!" the two officers exclaimed. Of course, they knew who Damian Tucker was. "How did your father get to do business with Damian? Is your father into the mafia world?" the second policeman, Sergeant Brown, asked. But Alicia and her siblings shook their heads. "We don't know. My father has been owing Damian for long, going to five years now. So they came here and took him away and ordered us to pay his debt," Alicia cried, and the policemen sighed. "Hmmm. You know that Damian and his boys wouldn't just come here if your father isn't among their group. We would need evidence to know what the embezzled funds were all about. Do you have any idea what the business money was for?" Jonathan queried. Alicia quickly shook her head and replied, "We don't know. All that doesn't matter now. If we get anything endangering that could expose their group, that would be a threat to our lives and to my father in their grip. They only told us to pay, or else they would deal with him." Alicia cried as she moved back to sit on one of the black couches in the living room, and the two officers sighed. "This is serious. So how much are you guys told to pay up?" Jonathan asked, a look of worry washed over him. "10 million dollars," Caden announced, and Jonathan gasped. "What?! That's a whole lot of money. Anyway, you should assist us to get the evidence to get Damian behind bars. That way, the government would apprehend him and take him into custody." Caden shook his head and said, "I don't know about my father's business. It's a secret business, and maybe that's why they took him away." "How about your sisters? Can't you use them to get closer to Damian to see if they can get any information on how to arrest their group? We need solid evidence, or would your mother know what her husband does?" Brown queried. "None that I am aware of. And I cannot allow them to have Samantha or Alicia. We will have to raise the money to pay them up," Caden said, shaking his head sadly. "I agree with him, Brown. You don't expect me to offer my girlfriend to that son of a devil. I want to marry Alicia next month. Now all this is happening. Where is your mother, Alicia?" Jonathan asked, and Alicia sadly pointed towards the stairs. "Come and show me to your mother's room. We should see if she knows how to help us get evidence," Jonathan said, to which Alicia rose from the couch and sadly followed him upstairs. "Don't worry, baby. I will help you raise the money if the need arises. Your father cannot get killed." Jonathan assured her, but Alicia shook her head and doubted him. "Where do you want to get 10 million dollars from? Do you want to get involved in illegal dealings just for my father's sake?" "Don't worry, babe. I will go to any length for you." Jonathan kissed Alicia's forehead as they arrived at the front of her mother's sitting room door. Alicia knocked and entered the room with Jonathan. However, Mrs. Jennifer was on a phone call, calling Mr. Max's older brother to see if he could help, but he refused to help, saying that "Max has not helped me when he was rich, and you don't expect me to lend you a helping hand now." The call ended, and Mrs. Jennifer sadly looked back at Alicia and then the policeman in black who were holding hands together. At first, Mrs. Jennifer wondered if she was dreaming, but the policeman spoke. "Good evening, ma. I am Officer Jonathan Leonardo, Alicia's boyfriend." "Oh!" Mrs. Jennifer gasped and looked from her daughter to Jonathan's face. "I know we didn't mean for the introduction to be this way, but I have the plans to come and marry Alicia next month. I love her very much, and especially now that my rank has been promoted to sergeant," Jonathan said. "I see," Lady Jennifer replied as she peered at the policeman looking at her daughter lovingly. It reminded her of when she newly married and fell in love with Mr. Max, before his greed led him to do dirty deals. "So back to why I am here. We got a phone call that your husband was kidnapped, and we made inquiry from your children, receiving the reports that your husband lent money from Damian Tucker and hasn't paid up yet," Jonathan said, watching Mrs. Jennifer's face intensely. Lady Jennifer stood in front of Jonathan and frowned. "Yes. I didn't know when my husband lent the money from Damian, but he claimed to be doing business with Damian's father before Damian took over the company," Mrs. Jennifer said, and Jonathan asked her, "Do you have any evidence of what your husband does for them?" "No. My husband doesn't get me involved. He never does, and I don't know what he does." "Hmm. But we need evidence if we need to get your husband freed. Think of any evidence. How about your husband's suitcase or laptop or whatever he uses to work? We can find a lead from there." "No," Lady Jennifer quickly refuted like she was protecting her husband from getting caught in any crime. "I am sorry, officer. But my husband never lets me know what he does. We have been married for 29 years, and we dated five years, and I still don't know his work. I just know he is a good man and provides for me and my children." Mrs. Jennifer looked sober as she recalled her past. "Damian gave his word that if we tried anything funny, he will deal with my husband, and I don't want to lose him. The police should look for their own way to catch criminals and not use my family. Please, excuse me as I would like to make a call to my older brother to see how we can raise the money." "Mom," Alicia tried to speak, but her mother used her eyes to signal her to shut it up. "It's fine, madam. I will see how I can be of help too. I will get going now to report to the station about the case so that my senior can take it from there," Jonathan said as he bowed for leave. "Alright," Lady Jennifer forcibly replied. Although, she would have preferred if they didn't report the matter to the station. But it could get worse, not when it involved her family and threat to life. Alicia followed Jonathan out of her father's house, and he paused beside the car he came with his assistant and said, "I have to go now, babe. Take care of yourself, and I will see what I can do to help your family. Damian has been a threat to many lives here, and if we don't get him, we cannot guarantee our service to saving our people." Jonathan looked frustrated, and Alicia right placed her hand on his shoulder and replied, "It's fine. Take care, my love." "You too, babe. I wish this never happened. I already bought the engagement ring, and now this." Jonathan looked so sad, and Alicia assured him, "It's fine. We will still get married." "I know. Take care of yourself, and don't go anywhere close to Damian." "Understood." Alicia replied, and Jonathan kissed her forehead goodbye before he hopped into his car. Alicia sighed and went back into the house."What's this?" Alicia asked, surprise etched on her face. She couldn't believe what she had just read. To become Damian's wife, she had to live by his rules and please him."Our marriage contract," Damian replied, his eyes fixed on Alicia's face, especially her enticing pink lips.Damian stood in front of Alicia and asked, "You cannot keep up with my terms?""No, it's not that I cannot keep up with your terms, but..." Alicia's words trailed off as she read the five terms and conditions of becoming his wife.Number one: She had to wake up early in the morning and prepare his breakfast.Number two: She cannot leave his house without informing him first.Number three: She needed to make love to him every morning, except due to health issues.Number four: She must not get close to his stepmother and stepsiblings.Lastly, number five: She must prioritize him always and tell him what she wanted.Alicia looked at the marriage agreement and then at Damian's face. She couldn't hold back her la
When Alicia pressed the doorbell of Damian's mansion, she stood there nervously, wondering if he would see her. What if he didn't want to see her, and his marriage offer was off?(Ding!)Alicia pressed the doorbell once more, and the huge door pulled open. Standing there at the door was Damian Tucker. He wore a white shirt and black trousers as he peered at Alicia's face.Alicia's cheeks flushed as she had not expected Damian to be the one to open the door for her. "Why must it be him? Why not someone else?" she thought, but greeted him swiftly, "Good morning."Taking a look at Alicia's face and the green dress that she was wearing, Damian's gaze darkened. Why was she dressed like this? Was she trying to seduce him? Damian pondered as the green dress perfectly accentuated her feminine features."Morning, why are you here?" Damian asked, his voice cold as he peered at her face."Um, I came to see you regarding something serious," Alicia said, and she lowered her head."Something seri
The next morning, Alicia woke up in her room, contemplating going to work. "Oh no. What am I going to do?" she asked herself, pacing about in her room. The words of her father's revelation after visiting the Milian's residence echoed in her mind.'The Milians want to use you against Damian, but unlike Samantha, you will be tortured.'"Mmm," Alicia shut her eyes. She made up her mind to go and visit Damian and to end the whole drama. As she went into her bathroom, Alicia bathed quickly, then she got out, dried her body, and wore a green dress and black slip-on shoes. The green dress was a long-sleeved dress that covered her hands and ended at her wrist.Alicia moved over to her mirror to style her hair and to make up her face to look pleasing.Once Alicia was done with her makeup and her hair, she combed her hair and applied a hair cream to it to make her scent feminine and divine.Alicia then grabbed her handbag, took her phone from the shelf. She glanced at the screen and saw that s
Grant returned home that evening and went to check on Maria first. As he arrived at the underground basement and saw the state that his only younger sister was in, his fist clenched. "Maria, why are you torturing yourself for a man who doesn't want you?" Grant asked after he ordered Simon to unlock the door of the room that Maria was locked inside. Maria looked so broken. Her fair figure appeared pale as she remained silent, not wanting to say a word. She refused to eat or drink anything. Grant crossed the distance between them. He approached Maria on the bed and saw that she was awake, but she refused to say a word to him. Grant lifted Maria up in his firm arms. Only then did she struggle, wanting him to put her down. "Put me down, brother! Since you want to punish me, go on, but I will not marry anyone except Damian," Maria said stubbornly, and Grant sighed. "Fine. Do as you wish, and that's if Damian decides to marry you, but I will not back you up or have my men commit any c
It seemed that even Lady Jennifer was worried after she heard what her husband said to Alicia. She looked from Alicia's face to her husband and asked, "Is there no way to settle this amicably with the Milians? Why will they drag Alicia into an issue that they have with Damian?" Mr. Max appeared thoughtful and he said, "I do not know. I have also thought about it and I think they were looking for Damian's weakness to get to him. After all, the Milians and the Tuckers are sworn enemies." "Mm," Lady Jennifer frowned and looked at Alicia, who was standing speechless in the living room. Alicia did not have anything to say to her father. After recovering from the shock of what her father said, as it was either she leave for the countryside or marry Damian. Which would she prefer? Alicia shut her eyes and went to pick up her bag. "Alicia, dinner is ready. You should come and join your father and me for dinner," Lady Jennifer said, and Alicia replied, "Alright, Mom. I will be back." Lady
Mr. Troy went back into the mansion and paced about in the living room. He contacted Grant to let him know about Max's visit. "Grant, you need to let go of Samantha right now. You do not know how capable her father is in hijacking some of our clients and drug investors. Let her go back home and you can choose to continue your affair with her. It's becoming a kidnapping if you refuse to hand her over to her family," Mr. Troy vented his anger over the phone. Grant had gone on a short business trip that morning. "Dad, when I return, we can discuss this and do not let go of Samantha. How about Maria?" Grant asked, his voice calm, and Mr. Troy sighed. "Maria still refuses to eat or go on a date with Damon. I do not know what to say to Mark. Now, I have to cancel the marriage arrangement if Maria doesn't want to compromise," Mr. Troy said, as he was also angry because of his daughter. "It's all my fault, Dad. We shouldn't have involved Maria in this. If she refuses to cooperate, then I
