LOGINAlicia stood speechless in the living room after her mother left them. The house staff were terrified, as they feared those gunmen were robbers. But no one was killed, except that Mr. Max was kidnapped.
The head of the maids had even phoned the police, who arrived a few minutes later. "We heard that Mr. Max was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen. Is that true?" one of the two police officers asked. However, the second police officer's eyes fell on Alicia, and he rushed to her. "Babe, what's going on? Is this where you live with your family?" Samantha and Caden's eyes widened in shock as they hadn't expected the police officer to know Alicia. "Yes, Jonathan. This is where my family and I live," Alicia lowered her head in shame, knowing that she had been keeping it a secret of where her family now lives. She recalled that five years ago, she had heard her parents arguing. Since then, their lives hadn't remained the same. "Tell me, what happened to your father. You need to give us the report on how to help him get his release from the unknown gunmen," Jonathan Leonardo asked Alicia. He was a 32-year-old light-skinned guy, and he loved Alicia so much and wanted to marry her, but she kept on dribbling the talk of him coming to see her father for her hand in marriage. "No, Jonathan. You cannot do anything to save my father. He owed Damian Tucker, the ruthless mafia boss," Alicia announced, moving away from John's embrace. She calls him John for short. "What?!" The two officers exclaimed. Of course, they knew who Damian Tucker was. "How did your father get to do business with Damian? Is your father into the Mafia world?" the second police officer, Sergeant Brown, asked. But Alicia and her siblings shook their heads. "We don't know. Our father has been owing Damian for long, going on five years now, so they came here and took him away and ordered us to pay his debt," Alicia cried, and the two police officers sighed. "Hmm. You know that Damian and his boys wouldn't just come here if your father isn't among their group. We would need evidence to know what the embezzled funds were all about. Do you have any idea what the business money was for?" Jonathan queried. Alicia quickly shook her head and replied, "We don't know. All that doesn't matter now. If we get anything endangering that could expose their group, that would be a threat to our lives and to my father in their grip. They only told us to pay, or else they would deal with him." Alicia cried as she moved back to sit on one of the black couches in the living room, and the two officers sighed. "This is serious. So, how much are you guys told to pay up?" Jonathan inquired, a look of worry washing over him. "$10 million," Caden said, and Jonathan gasped. "What?! That's a whole lot of money. Anyway, you should assist us to get the evidence to get Damian behind bars. That way, the police would apprehend him and take him into custody." Caden shook his head and said, "I don't know about my father's business. It's a secret business, and maybe that's why they took him away." "How about your two sisters? Can't you use them to get closer to Damian to see if she can get any information on how to arrest their group? We need solid evidence, or would your mother know what her husband does?" Brown questioned. "None that I am aware of. And I cannot allow them to have Samantha or Alicia. We will have to raise the money to pay them up," Caden said, shaking his head sadly. "I agree with him, Brown. You don't expect me to offer my girlfriend to that son of a devil. I want to marry Alicia next month. Now all this is happening. Where is your mother, Alicia?" Jonathan asked, and Alicia sadly pointed towards the stairs. "Come and show me to your mother's room. We should see if she knows how to help us get evidence," Jonathan said, to which Alicia rose from the couch and sadly followed him. "Don't worry, baby. I will help you raise the money if the need arises. Your father cannot get killed," Jonathan assured her, but Alicia shook her head and doubted him, "Where do you want to get $10 million from? Do you want to get involved in illegal dealings just for my father's sake?" "Don't worry, babe. I will go to any length for you." Jonathan kissed Alicia's forehead as they arrived at the front of her mother's room door. Alicia knocked and entered the room with Jonathan. Meanwhile, Mrs. Jennifer was on a phone call, calling Mr. Max's older brother to see if he could help, but the man refused, saying that "Max has never helped me when he was rich, and you don't expect me to lend you a helping hand now." The call ended, and Mrs. Jennifer sadly looked back at Alicia and then the police officer in black, who were holding hands together. At first, Mrs. Jennifer wondered if she was dreaming, but the police officer spoke, "Good evening, Ma'am. I am Officer Jonathan Leonardo, Alicia's boyfriend." "Oh!" Mrs. Jennifer gasped and looked from her daughter to Jonathan. "I know we didn't mean for the introduction to be this way, but I have the plans to come and marry Alicia. I love her very much, and especially now that my rank has been promoted to Sergeant," Jonathan said. "I see," Lady Jennifer replied as she looked at the police officer looking at her daughter lovingly. It reminded her of when she had recently gotten married and fell in love with Mr. Max, before his greed led him to do dirty deals. "So, back to why I am here. We got a phone call that your husband was kidnapped, and we made inquiries from your children, receiving the reports that your husband lent money from Damian Tucker and hasn't paid up yet," Jonathan said, watching Mrs. Jennifer intently. Lady Jennifer stood in front of Jonathan and frowned. "Yes. I didn't know when my husband lent the money, but he claimed to be doing business with Damian's father before Damian took over the company," Mrs. Jennifer disclosed, and Jonathan asked her, "Do you have any evidence of what your husband does for Damian?" "No. My husband doesn't get me involved. He never does, and I don't know what he doesn't." "Hmm. But we need evidence if we need to get your husband freed. Think of any evidence. How about your husband's suitcase or laptop or whatever he uses? We can find a lead from there," Jonathan queried. "No..." Lady Jennifer quickly refuted, as if she was protecting her husband from getting caught in any crime. "I'm sorry, officer. But my husband never let me know what he does. We have been married for 29 years, and we dated for five years, and he still doesn't share his work with me. I just know he is a good man and provides for us," Mrs. Jennifer looked somber as she recalled her past. "Damian gave his word that if we tried anything funny, he will deal with my husband, and I don't want to lose him. The police should look for their own way to catch criminals and not use my family. Please, excuse me as I will like to make a call to my older brother to see how we can raise the money," Lady Jennifer said. "Mom..." Alicia tried to speak, but her mother used her eyes to signal her to shut up. "It's fine, ma'am. I will see how I can be of help too. I will get going now to report to the station about the case, so that my senior can take it from there," Jonathan said, as he bowed to leave. "Alright," Lady Jennifer forcibly replied. Although, she would have preferred if they didn't report the matter to the station. But it could get worse, especially when it involves her family and a threat to their lives. Alicia followed Jonathan out of her father's house, and he paused beside the black car he came with his assistant and said, "I have to go now, babe. Take care, and I will see what I can do to help your family. Damian has been a threat to many lives here, and if we don't get him, we cannot guarantee our service to saving our people." Jonathan looked frustrated, and Alicia placed her hand on him and told him, "It's fine. Take care, my love." "You too, babe. I wish this never happened. I already bought the engagement ring, and now this." Johnathan looked so sad, and Alicia told him, "It's fine. We will still get married." "I know. Take care, and don't go anywhere close to Damian." "Understood." Alicia replied, and Johnathan kissed her forehead goodbye before he hopped into his car. Alicia sighed and went back into the house.Alicia hesitated, not wanting to answer Damian's call.Eventually, she did, her hand clutching the phone tightly as she demanded, "Why are you calling me?"Damian was in his club with his best friend, Henry Benard. He was telling Henry about his good news - that Alicia had accepted his marriage proposal."I am so happy for you, Damian," Henry said, as they sat at the VIP table."Thanks," Damian replied, his lips curled into a handsome smile.Henry asked him, "Are you going to host a big wedding? How about your parents?"Damian's brows furrowed, and he said, "I will have a simple wedding. You shouldn't worry. I will invite you as my best man when the time comes."Henry smiled and continued drinking with Damian, happy to see that Damian had finally gotten the woman he wanted. They continued to drink until the night fell, and Damian set out to leave for his home, not wanting to get extremely intoxicated.Upon arriving home, Damian decided to give Alicia a call."Hello," Alicia answered t
When Grant arrived at his company, he drove his car into the company's grounds and parked it. Then he went into his company building to do his work for the day.Simon called Grant and told him about Mr. Max's arrival."Let him in," Grant replied calmly as he settled on his office chair.A few minutes later, Mr. Max walked into Grant's office. His expression was cold, as he didn't want to get himself involved with any Mafia again. After Damian's betrayal, Mr. Max wanted to be on his own and retire from working for any of the mafia families. He wanted to face his own family and do simple work for his peace of mind."Welcome, in-law. Have a seat," Grant said, his voice calm as he gestured to the seat across from him.Mr. Max frowned, his gaze cold as he settled across from Grant."What do you want from my daughter? Samantha will never marry you, and you better not touch my child!" Mr. Max glared at Grant, who smiled."I am not going to hurt your daughter unless you fail to cooperate with
Alicia's heart was pounding in her chest as she thought about her acceptance to become Damian's wife. She sat in the car with uneasiness, shifting from one buttọcks to another, despite the fact that she had fastened her seatbelt. As the driver set the car into motion, he peered at Alicia's face, a look of concern etched on his face as he asked her, "Is everything alright, Madam?""Yes," Alicia replied, looking at the bodyguard as she stopped pacing about in the moving car. She pondered how her parents would react to this marriage. The bodyguard who was driving the car remained silent and focused his gaze on the road. He drove the car back to the Dawson's mansion.***Meanwhile, Damian's mood improved after Alicia left his house. He poured himself a glass of wine and anticipated going to the marriage registration the following day.He ordered Butler James, "Get me the best meal and arrange the whole house for a thorough cleanup. We are going to have a guest by tomorrow."Butler James's
"What's this?" Alicia asked, surprise etched on her face. She couldn't believe what she had just read. To become Damian's wife, she had to live by his rules and please him."Our marriage contract," Damian replied, his eyes fixed on Alicia's face, especially her enticing pink lips.Damian stood in front of Alicia and asked, "You cannot keep up with my terms?""No, it's not that I cannot keep up with your terms, but..." Alicia's words trailed off as she read the five terms and conditions of becoming his wife.Number one: She had to wake up early in the morning and prepare his breakfast.Number two: She cannot leave his house without informing him first.Number three: She needed to make love to him every morning, except due to health issues.Number four: She must not get close to his stepmother and stepsiblings.Lastly, number five: She must prioritize him always and tell him what she wanted.Alicia looked at the marriage agreement and then at Damian's face. She couldn't hold back her la
When Alicia pressed the doorbell of Damian's mansion, she stood there nervously, wondering if he would see her. What if he didn't want to see her, and his marriage offer was off?(Ding!)Alicia pressed the doorbell once more, and the huge door pulled open. Standing there at the door was Damian Tucker. He wore a white shirt and black trousers as he peered at Alicia's face.Alicia's cheeks flushed as she had not expected Damian to be the one to open the door for her. "Why must it be him? Why not someone else?" she thought, but greeted him swiftly, "Good morning."Taking a look at Alicia's face and the green dress that she was wearing, Damian's gaze darkened. Why was she dressed like this? Was she trying to seduce him? Damian pondered as the green dress perfectly accentuated her feminine features."Morning, why are you here?" Damian asked, his voice cold as he peered at her face."Um, I came to see you regarding something serious," Alicia said, and she lowered her head."Something seri
The next morning, Alicia woke up in her room, contemplating going to work. "Oh no. What am I going to do?" she asked herself, pacing about in her room. The words of her father's revelation after visiting the Milian's residence echoed in her mind.'The Milians want to use you against Damian, but unlike Samantha, you will be tortured.'"Mmm," Alicia shut her eyes. She made up her mind to go and visit Damian and to end the whole drama. As she went into her bathroom, Alicia bathed quickly, then she got out, dried her body, and wore a green dress and black slip-on shoes. The green dress was a long-sleeved dress that covered her hands and ended at her wrist.Alicia moved over to her mirror to style her hair and to make up her face to look pleasing.Once Alicia was done with her makeup and her hair, she combed her hair and applied a hair cream to it to make her scent feminine and divine.Alicia then grabbed her handbag, took her phone from the shelf. She glanced at the screen and saw that s
