“No matter what is going on, I have decided to trust you, Dante, but the way you are going with Guilia, I do not think it is right. She is going to think you do not want her to have a happy life.”

When Elowen said this, I pulled away from her, staring at her with my mind bugging with thoughts and overwhelming emotions.

“First was Xavier, and now Flynn.” She added. “I just want you to be fine, Dante, and I’m here if you need me.” She pulled me into a hug.

I asked Ralph to take Elowen home while I headed to the warehouse, where I kept Guilia and her friends captive. When I pulled up at the warehouse, I paused for a moment to coordinate myself.

Elowen was right, and it was high time I stopped treating Guilia like a kid.

I walked into the warehouse, which had a few of my men littered around, then I went straight to the guardroom, pulling it open to see the three of them bundled in a seat.

I untied the hanky in Guilia’s mouth, and she gritted her teeth.
