What's he doing here?

Debra didn't let me go until I told her everything, from the time we went to the hospital and Dad's reaction to it. She gulped everything down, eyes wide whenever necessary, and let out sounds of shock. “Your dad didn't!”

“He did.”

I smiled, recalling how scared I had been then, thinking it was over for me. I never expected Dad to accept us, at least not that easily. I thought it would take time before he would do that, but guess luck was on our side.

Debra grinned. “I'm glad he accepted you. It would have been a bummer if he didn't.” She let out a sigh.

“Debra! Come here. We need your input on this,” Clara called out to her.

“I will be right there.” She got on her feet and dusted her butt. “I'll be right back, darling, to get the rest of the story.”

“No problem.”

She winked before she hurried over to the others, and soon, she was back in her director's mode. Shaking my head at the lame joke she made about the tree men, I focused on the paper she tasked me with cutting. I refused t

  • Make Me Yours, Brother   Ready for a confrontation

MATTI wasn't myself throughout the ride back to the office. I kept on glancing back occasionally, convinced Scott was following us. My guts had been right. Someone was indeed watching me. Funny how it turned out to be the alpha I sent to jail, one I used to regard as a friend. I knew I should have left the car then, run after him and confronted him, but I didn't. Even though I knew I could take him on if it came to combat, I couldn't ignore the promise I made to Jay. I promised to always let him know and to stop being reckless. Losing a baby is more than enough.Henry didn't inquire what was wrong with me. If he noticed how jumpy and nervous I was, he didn't ask, knowing the response wouldn't be what he hoped for. The second the car stopped, I jumped down from it and rushed into the company. I didn't even wait for the engine to stop running. Henry called out in alarm. "What's going on?! Are you okay?!"“I'm good.” I waved at him while racing for the front door. I let myself in wit

  • Make Me Yours, Brother   What belongs to him

SCOTTI lifted my gaze to the sky, feeling the warmth of the sun on my face for the first time since I stepped into that dreadful place. I couldn't tell which tricks those motherfuckers pulled, but they got me locked up in solitary. While others could play out, I didn't see the sunlight… I was locked, doomed to spend the rest of my days in the dark. I had given up all hopes of getting my revenge, of putting my hands on that slutty Omega who kept me in such a situation. Matt. It was funny how I still felt a tug in my stomach each time I thought about him. I should hate him, resent him, and wish him dead. I do, but I still want to make him my bitch, to own every part of him and show him what having a real alpha feels like.Unfortunately, I was locked up, unable to break free from this place unless by some sheer stroke of luck, which I wasn't even counting on until I met him. He was my first visitor. I didn't know the tricks he pulled to get them to allow him visit me, but I would for

  • Make Me Yours, Brother   A mind trick?

MATTYou know that feeling when it seems like someone is constantly staring at you, and you have to always look back, to be certain there wasn't any creep like that? It followed me throughout the way here. Even when we got to the location. The hair on the back of my neck rose. I rubbed the back of my neck, looking around at the empty car park. “Are you okay?” Henry asked, noticing my distraction. Nodding at him, I forced a smile and tried to act like I was good. I didn't see any reason to tell him what I was feeling. He's not Jay. He might brush it off as nothing. Jay wouldn't. He would walk around the property to ensure there was no threat. I followed them inside the new site. It was a building that Dad was overseeing. In case I failed to mention, Dad's company deals with a lot of things, engineering, plumbing, advertising, and even modelling. I discovered this some weeks ago when I ran into a male model. The tour I got on the first day I started working didn't cover all the floo

  • Make Me Yours, Brother   Didn't they go alone?

Debra and I spoke until Dad returned to my office. We tried to narrow it down to the person who might have given Scott Matt's phone number, but we weren't successful. We couldn't think of anyone in our small circle who would be in contact with that bastard. It all boiled down to one way he could have gotten it. He must have taken Matt's contact from someone's phone or had someone track Matt down. The latter was plausible. If he had actually tracked Matt down, he wouldn't be asking where he was. He would have shown up instead of going back and forth, texting him. He must have taken the number from Richard's phone. Richard was the only one I knew who could be so careless with his phone. And to think he doesn't even lock that thing. He must have left it lying around in a bar and Scott happened to pick it up. Which would mean he had been tailing them.“You have to be careful, too. He might come for you if things go awry." “Don't worry about me. All I need is for you to promise to keep

  • Make Me Yours, Brother   Did he escape from prison?

Dad and I shared a look, eyes wide as the realisation sank in. “His ex-boyfriend?” Dad asked, confusion marring his features. He looked at the phone in my hand and back at me before asking, “Why? Didn't they part on good terms? Why will Scott try to harm him?”Unlike Matt and me, who already knew what transpired between them, Dad still thinks they parted as friends, as we lied to him about.I shook my head and dropped the phone on the desk without sending a message to him. I joined my fingers and smiled. “No, they didn't. Scott tried to…” I inhaled, fists clenching in anger when I remembered what that motherfucker did. Or almost tried to do.Even though I was grateful to him, for what he did brought Matt and me together, I couldn't forget how scared my baby had looked that night when I went to get him. How broken he had sounded when he told me the story.“What are you saying?” Dad drew close to me, his brows furrowed. “What do you mean they didn't? Matt said —”“He lied to you.” Exhal

  • Make Me Yours, Brother   Baiting him?

JAYI stared at his phone almost all morning. I wouldn't lie and say I did something productive. I didn't. I was waiting for a text from the person who contacted Matt. Dad asked me to keep my attention on the phone and wait for a message, which I was doing, although it seemed like I was taking things a little too seriously by ignoring the piles on my table. When his phone dinged with a notification, I rushed to pick it up, thinking it was from the person with that threatening message, but it wasn't. It was just a spam email. Hissing under my breath, I stared into space. I had believed we were free from the past and wouldn't have to worry about it repeating anymore. Matt has finally moved on. That dullness in his eyes had disappeared. We couldn't afford to have that fool spoil everything for us. Which is why I need to solve this with Dad before it escalates. Dad said I shouldn't send a message to him and wait for him to contact Matt first, something I might disobey if I don't get a
