Snow

I run after Cody after he leaves me flustered on the couch with a red face. Meeting him at the staircase, I call his name to stop him from climbing up.

He turns around with a smug grin tugging at his lips. "Please don't tell Lee or Sam or anyone that I was attacked today."

"Why not?" He frowns.

"They'll stop me from doing what I'm doing. And don't ask me because I won't tell you what it is."

"Then I won't ask. But at least the police need to know."

I raise a brow. "Are you sure you won't ask?"

"Why bother if you won't tell me?" He rolls his eyes. "I'm not going to waste my time forcing that out of you. You'll come to me and you'll tell me all by yourself."

The nerve he has to sound cocky. "That's not gonna happen. Just don't tell anyone. Maybe you can tell the police that I almost lost my life today, but don't tell them I was wondering around looking for–" I instantly clap my hand over my mouth and Cody snickers.
