Marked By Betrayal

The Blood Moon was brighter than ever before, the wolves were assembled. Each pair of eyes fixed on her, unwavering and predatory in their anticipation. Lena felt the weight of their gaze in her bones, an immense sense of pressure filled her as she waited...Feeling vulnerable in human form and wishing very much to turn around and run away, her heart pounded and the world span as she thought about what was going to happen next, what she had to do...But she had no choice...She never had a choice. She was the daughter of Alpha Theron, heir to the Steeleclaw pack, and tonight she would stand at the centre of two great forces. The Steeleclaw Pack had survived for generations, but a new threat lurked just beyond their borders. The Bloodfang Clan, a vicious coalition of wolves, panthers and bears, was moving steadily towards her fathers territory. Entire packs had vanished under their claws, some of the Alphas with big reputations had been eliminated...or enslaved. No one had come into conta

Lena woke up shivering and sore, still curled on the cold stone floor. Her temples throbbed and her veins still burned from the injection, Her mark still prickled with the longing for her chosen mate and her heart ached from the force of the betrayal. But worse than the pain was the emptiness inside her soul.Amethyst? No answer....Nothing emptiness.AMETHYST she begged, searching for her in her mind.. But there was nothing but empty space where she lived. Her wolf was gone, they had been together since Lena had come of age, as soon as a person turns 16 they receive their wolf, a gift from the Moon Goddess herself, and Lena's had been stolen from her.Her chest heaved with sobs as she stood on weak legs and stumbled to the still locked door, She beat her knuckles against it until they bled, the wounds no longer closing within seconds, Her wolf had taken her supernatural strength with her, "LET ME OUT OF HERE...PLEASE!"There was no response, only more silence.Hours passed, she tried

Lena's eyes snapped open, but all she saw was darkness. Her body was contorted in a tight space, every inch of her body hurt, she had clearly been in this space for a long while. A sudden lurch of her space and the roar of an engine told her she was in the trunk of a car...Panic exploded through her body, her breaths were coming in short pants, claustrophobia was making the space feel even tighter. The car lurched forwards suddenly and she was thrown against something hard, her head split open with a searing agony, snapping her out of her panic Amethyst? she called to her wolf in her mind Are you there? I'm here Lee, but I haven't got long. What's happening? I'm not sure, I have just awoken too...We are in a trunk, I'm sure you've already figured that out... I think there's two...... Suddenly. Lena felt the void in her mind swallow her wolf again. Amethyst? No reply. She was alone, and that realisation made it all come back to her. She remembered bits and pieces

The dining room felt colder once the food had been taken away. Lena sat in silence, contemplating everything she had learned over the last few hours, the wine and the residual drugs still left in her system made her legs feel weak, but she refused to let Ally see her as weak, she expected to have problems with her in the near future, there was something in her eyes when she looked at her, jealousy, loathing...Something. The scrape of the doors opening broke Lena out of her trance. Annie and Helga entered, they walked with silent footsteps, respectable and invisible, the perfect omegas. They both bowed slightly to the other three women and then approached Lena's chair. "Luna" Annie said softly, like she was trying not to disturb the others. "It is time to retire to your chambers for the evening" The room seemed to shift in an instant. Ally let out a sharp, condescending laugh. She leaned back in her chair and rolled her eyes. "Wow, Special treatment already, two omegas at your be

"He's early, he wasn't supposed to come for another week" Annie's fearful hiss penetrated Lena's uneasy sleep and she opened her eyes."Yes, probably because of the new Luna" Helga whispered back, more composed than Annie. "It'll be fine, but we need to get her ready".Lena's chest tightened with anxiety WHAT NOW? "I can hear you both you know" Lena snapped at the door, it opened quietly and Annie and Helga entered the room with their heads bowed"S..Sorry Luna, The Alpha is coming, we need to hurry" Annie said urgently, Lena was still barely awake and surrendered to their fussing, they dressed her in a plain purple gown and styled her hair up with loose curls hanging down her face. They worked fast, by the time she had gotten her bearings, they were putting shoes on her feet and leading her out of the room. They made their way to the same dining room that Lena had met the other Luna's the night before, she was pleased she was able to walk on her own this time, her physical ability s
