~Eunice

I was flipping through the stack of student files on my desk, routine paperwork that usually bored me to death when Iris Rivera’s folder landed in my hands.

I opened it without thinking, and there she was, the passport photo staring back at me.

Even in that stiff, official shot she was stunning.

Dark waves framing her face, full lips curved just enough to look like a secret, eyes that seemed to dare you to look longer.

I’d seen pretty girls before, plenty but none like this. None that made my pulse kick up with one glance.

I set the file down and grabbed my phone, fingers already typing her name into Facebook before I could stop myself.

Her profile wasn’t private. Good girl.

I scrolled straight to the album from last summer, beach photos. There she was in a black bikini, water glistening on her skin, curves on full display as she laughed at the camera.

One shot had her lying on her stomach in the sand, back arched just enough to show the dip of her waist, the swell of her hi

~ Eunice pov Alpha Duncan was leaving. That alone was enough to unsettle the entire pack. When word spread that my brother was travelling beyond the borders, preparations began immediately , guards doubled, routes secured, messages sent ahead like prayers wrapped in Protocol. Alpha Duncan didn't move without intention, and he didn't leave his territory unless something demanded his full attention. And yet, before dawn, a message arrived for me. Meet me before I depart. No warmth. No explanation. Just a summons. I arrived at the private terminal just as the sky began to pale, the air sharp with early morning cold. Duncan stood near the transport vehicle, already dressed for travel, long coat fastened, presence commanding as ever. Even away from the throne room, even outside pack lands, he carried authority like a second skin.My elder brother. My Alpha.“You’re leaving,” I said, stating the obvious as I approached.“ Yes.” “ For now long ?” “ as long as necessary.” That answ

~ iris I stared at the video, until my eyes burned. I didn't want to blink, because blinking felt like acceptance. Like if I looked away, it would become real in a way I couldn’t undo. The room felt too small, the walls closing in as the screen replayed the same short clip over and over.his voice, low and familiar, the slope of his shoulder, the way his presence filled the frame like it always filled a room.Alpha Duncan. With someone else. My hands started shaking so badly I had to press the phone flat against the mattress to keep from dropping it. My throat closed, a hard knot forming there. And for a long moment I couldn't breathe. I sucked in air like I was drowning, chest heaving, eyes stinging. This couldn't be happening The bond, our bond had felt undeniable. Fated. Violent in its certainty. It had wrapped around my ribs and sunk into my bones, rewritten everything I thought about myself, about desire, about love.Has it all been one sided? A sob ripped out of me before I

~irisThe dorm room was quiet when I finally stepped in, dragging my bag behind me. I thought Alice would be here. My scarf and coat were still wrapped tight, lingering smells of coffee and the only city clinging to me. I dropped my bag near the bed and collapsed onto the edge, pulling my phone out almost automatically.Missed calls. Alice. A dozen of them.I swiped them away. Not yet. Not while I was still catching my breath, still shaking off the lingering energy from my outing with Ky. Tonight she was flirty, teasing, bold in a way that made my pulse spike. And when she’d finally waved goodbye, giving me that sly little smile as she slipped off into the night, I’d felt my stomach twist in a way that wasn’t entirely innocent.I let the phone sir on the desk and took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing thoughts. Alice would wait. She always did.I swung the door open to see Alice standing there, her hair falling perfectly over her shoulders, a backpack slung carelessly, and t

The dorm was quiet.Too quiet. The low hum of the overhead lights, the faint clank of the old radiator, even the distant laughter drifting in from somewhere down the hall, all of it felt muffled, as though the world itself had decided to tread carefully around my thoughts.I sat cross-legged on my bed, phone clenched in my hand, staring at the screen like it might suddenly confess something. Like the truth would finally spill if I stared hard enough. But it didn’t.No new messages.None from Iris.My chest felt tight, heavy, like someone had wrapped a fist around my heart and refused to let go. Seven days. Seven days since she’d come back, and somehow she already felt farther away than she ever had before.I clenched the phone harder, my knuckles whitening.I love her.The thought hit me like a bruise. I kept pressing just to see if it still hurt. I hated how fast my heart reacted to her, how easily she owned parts of me I pretended were under control. One memory was enough, her laugh,

~ iris Ky walked down the aisle slowly, her boots quiet against the floor. She stopped at the empty seat two rows ahead of me,then hesitated. Her head tilted slightly. Her eyes met mine again. This time, they widened just a fraction.Recognition.My breath caught.No.It couldn’t be.She smiled. Not the polite, classroom kind. The I-know-your kind.Oh.The café.The scarf. The heavy coat. The way she’d leaned closer, laughed softly, slipped her number into my hand like it was nothing.Ky turned fully then, ignoring the empty seat, and walked straight toward me.“Mind if I sit here?” she asked, already dropping her bag beside my desk.Alice glanced between us, confused.“Uh sure,” I said, my voice steady even though my pulse wasn’t.Ky sat, leaning back casually, her knee brushing mine under the desk. “Didn’t expect to see you here,” she murmured, low enough that only I could hear.I leaned closer. “You followed me?”She smirked. “Relax. I transferred weeks ago. Guess fate’s just mess

~iris One week. That was all it had been, seven days tucked away inside walls that smelled like safety and power. Seven days where fear didn’t follow me into my sleep. Seven days of quiet laughter, lingering looks, and moments I knew I wasn’t supposed to get attached to.But I did.The suitcase at my feet, felt heavier than it should have. Duncan had gotten me new clothes. I folded my clothes slowly, like if I took my time, the week might stress itself into something longer. The mansion was quiet again, like it knew I was leaving.Duncan stood by the door, watching me. “ You don't have to go,” he said, not ordering, just saying it.I smiled sadly. “ If I stay longer, questions will start, Miss Eunice might see it as a perfect way to suspend me. And I can't keep Alice worried.”“ I'll handle them.”“ I know,” I said softly. “ But I need to go back. I can't hide forever.” He stepped closer, his thumb brushing my wrist gently. “ This place will always be yours.”That almost broke me.
