Nyssa froze for a moment, unsure if she had heard him correctly. “You’re sending the Queen away?” she asked, her voice remained calm but edged with disbelief.

Lucien nodded, pacing slowly across the room. His eyes remained on the ground, and his jaw tightened. “I don’t want any more drama between her and Elder Albert. The last thing this pack needs right now is gossip or another wave of unrest. The elders have already started whispering since she regained her strength. If she stays, things could spiral out of control.”

Nyssa frowned. “But why would there be gossip?”
