Xena’s POV

I sat in my room, unable to believe what just happened. The walls felt like they were closing in, like a trap room with no place to run to.

I couldn’t think straight. They were going to execute me tomorrow. Tomorrow… I could already feel the cold steel of the executioner's blade at my throat or worse Kael's sharp claws slicing through my neck.

The thought of it made my stomach churn.

My eyes kept darting to the window like the solution to my problem was there. The night sky was dark, too dark, and I felt like I could hear every little noise outside the door.

Every time the wind rustled the trees or the floor creaked beneath me, I flinched, expecting someone to burst through the door.

The guards were still outside, their footsteps echoing down the hallway but I couldn’t even hear their conversations anymore but who cares, today was going to be the last day in this cruel palace and I was the one that killed myself.

I should have just listened to Susan, Orion, Lady Megan an

  • Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.   Dinner served with karma.

AUTHOR’S POVThe restaurant was as lavish as Chloe’s ego. Crystal chandeliers dripped like stars from the ceiling, casting shimmering light over the polished marble floor. Waiters in white gloves served cocktails and rare seafood as Chloe and her entourage laughed over an expensive dinner that could feed a whole village.Chloe, glowing in a body-hugging red dress, scrolled through gowns on her phone. “What about this one?” she asked, turning the screen to show a sleek, diamond-encrusted white gown with a sheer corset top.“Oh my Goddess,” squealed Ava. “That’s the one! You’d look like royalty, Chloe!”“You already do,” another girl added quickly. “Jason’s going to pass out when he sees you walk down the aisle. You two are perfect together.”Chloe smirked. “He already thinks I’m his queen.”They all giggled.“He’s so hot,” said one. “God, if he ever leaves you, I swear I’d throw myself at him!”“He won’t,” Chloe said coolly. “Why would he settle for less when he has perfection?”The g

  • Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.   Burn for me.

Kael’s POVI stood frozen for a moment, the room buzzing around me. My mind went blank, trying to process what I was seeing. How the hell did she leave the house? What happened to the securities I placed around her? All my men were ten times stronger, faster, and more vigilant than most average bodyguards. So how did an impure wolf sneak past them? Well, I guess I know the first thing I would be doing when I get back home and trust me, it's more than firing them. Xena walked towards me like she had every right to be here and there was something off about her. I wasn't the one to believe in fairytale so the most logical explanation to what is happening here is that — this isn't Xena. But that was a lie, this was the real Xena, as difficult as it was, it was the real Xena. My eyes darted to the empty glass I dropped on the table. I wasn't the type to get drunk easily— I don't think I have ever been drunk so yes, I was fucking very much sober, so I wasn't hallucinating…but I badly wis

  • Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.   The Alpha's queen

Kael's POVDays had passed since Xena had done something stupid. She hadn’t dared make another move since I had made it clear what would happen if she stepped out of line again. She had learned her lesson, and I made sure she didn’t forget it and I made sure the security around her was tighter than ever. If she wasn’t so useful to me, I would have gotten rid of her already. But for now, she was still useful—just barely.Tonight, though, I had other things to focus on. I was invited to a party—one of those typical gatherings that high ranked wolves wanted to show off and of course, I had to be there. It was a ritual practiced for centuries. It was a boring ceremony— at least not until I modified it. Rather than the old boring pack thing, I made it an international thing where everyone comes to serve me. As soon as I walked in, the crowd went silent as I walked past them, some bowed their heads in respect and fear while some gave me slow nods. I didn't give a damn— I don't give a d

  • Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.   Taught by fire

Kael’s POVI grabbed Xena’s arm and pulled her out of the room. She struggled to free myself from my grip, but I didn’t let go. Her eyes were wide and filled with fear, her soft sobs becoming music in my ears. We walked through the cold stone halls of the palace in silence. I could feel her heart racing just from the way her feet kept stumbling. The maids moved out of the way immediately they saw us. None of them dared to talk. “Please,” Xena pleaded. “Please let go of me, please, I beg you.”I ignored her, increasing my pace. We reached the gate at the back of the palace. The guards opened it without a word as I led her to the center of the field. Weapons were laid out neatly on a long table. Pistols, rifles, blades—all tools needed to carve fear in her mind. She froze when she saw them, her hand unconsciously going to her stomach.“You think I’m going to kill your child?” I asked, in a calm tone. Her lips pressed into thin line as she sniffed. I stared at her for a while wo

  • Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.   Death wears a smirk.

Xena’s POVIt had been months since I last saw Lady Megan. I wasn’t even sure if she still thought about me or even remembered who I was. I had sent her letters of invitation…twice and there was no response. Susan was the one who stopped me. She explained the importance of dignity…she was right, sending more letters would only make me look desperate but the waiting was killing me.Finally after what felt like eternity, Lady Megan invited me to her house and we also discovered that those letters never got to her. Someone was watching us…and pray the moon goddess that it isn't Kael. The car ride felt long, maybe because I had too many thoughts in my head. I inhaled deeply, watching that city as we drove past. I wasn't really familiar with the human world or the werewolves world, I was a loner who didn't have any friends so I knew almost nothing about the world. I stared blankly at the world outside, admiring the beautiful faces on the billboard, the city filled with life as the hum
