[ALESSIA'S POV]

Two weeks feel like two years.

Every morning, I wake up and wonder if today is the day I'll know.

Jeffrey barely talks to me anymore.

But I notice everything. The way he won't look at my stomach.

The way he leaves the room when I mention the baby.

The way he's there but not really there.

[ALESSIA'S POV]I can't stop thinking about what Davison said."It feels like I'm invisible sometimes."My twelve-year-old son. The boy who survived cancer. Who saved his brother's life.Feels invisible.Because I've been so consumed with Alexander's drama that I forgot to check on him. What kind of mother does that?I'm lying in bed at 2 AM, staring at the ceiling, when Jeffrey rolls over."You're still awake.""Can't sleep.""Thinking about Davison?""How did you know?""Because I know you. And I know you're probably beating yourself up for not noticing he was struggling."He's right."He thought the cancer was back, Jeffrey. He was in pain for two days and didn't tell me because he didn't want to add more stress.""But he's okay. The tests came back clear.""This time. But what about next time? What if he's really sick and doesn't tell me because he thinks Alexander is more important?"Jeffrey sits up. Turns on the lamp."Alessia, you're a good mother. To both of them.""I don't fe
