"Yes, Boss.
Rhoda is right.
I moved Dexter to another Cell just to keep him safe," Romeo confessed.
With the evidence against him, there was no need to play the hide-and-seek game anymore. He knew for a fact that Dexter's former cellmates would testify against him should Lucas attempt to investigate further.
"Keeping him safe from what?" Lucas stood up in full force. That was the part of the confession that triggered his anger.
"Does this place look like a kidnapper's Den to you? What makes you think we would want to hurt Dexter, huh? Start talking immediately," Lucas raged. He brought out his gun and made it seem as though he wanted to shoot Romeo dead.
"Sir, his cellmates wanted him dead. You needed to see the way they treated him like a piece of trash. According to Dexter, one of the cops paid the leader of the cellmates, Jaguar, to inflict severe torture on him," Romeo spoke in his defense while he dropped a shocking allegation that may see everything turn out in his own defense.
Lucas aimed his gaze at Rhoda as she looked elsewhere. It was an awkward glance and Rhoda was quite aware. She knew that it was only a matter of time before Lucas starts questioning her about what Romeo said.
"Are you sure about this?" Lucas asked Romeo for clarification, disregarding his earliest crimes.
"I can't joke with a delicate situation like this. Of course, I know what I'm talking about. If you're doubting me, you can ask Dexter about it. His former cellmates might spill unless they want to protect their crimes," Romeo affirmed.
His confession put Lucas in a tight situation. Lucas initially plan was to suspend Romeo indefinitely. But after hearing the latest allegations against some dubious cops, he is now having a second guess.
He went back to get seated and rack his head to avoid making the worst decision of his life. Not even a murder case has stressed the living daylight out of Lucas like that before.
After the thorough deliberation, Lucas cleared his throat and picked up the brown even lope on his desk.
The sight of the brown even lope freaked Romeo out. He already knew that Lucas decision would never be beneficial for him. He was already considering a life after being police officer.
"I've finally reached a conclusion and here's my judgment," Lucas stood up with the brown even lope that was pointing towards Romeo's direction.
Romeo's heart beat was pounding faster. He felt like walking away to avoid hearing the devastating news about his sack.
Looking behind him, Romeo discovered that the door was still locked, making it difficult for him to run away from the news
"No need to speak
Save yourself the stress. I already know what you wanted to talk about," Romeo broke the silence. Lucas was taking too much to speak, and it was starting to affect Romeo even though he already knew what his fate was.
"How dare you interrupt me while I speak? And how did you know what I wanted to talk about? Have you suddenly possess some supernatural powers to read my thoughts?" Lucas lamented.
"Isn't it obvious that you want to dismiss me? I mean, that's what the letter of the envelope says," Romeo assumed.
Few minutes after, he was already doubting his guts and wished he had shut his mouth instead.
Upon hearing from Romeo, Lucas dropped the envelope on the desk, and brought a plain paper and a pen. He went ahead to write on the paper as Romeo stared in the utmost confusion. He wanted to ask questions but decided to keep it to himself knowing that Lucas will get pissed off more.
A few minutes later, Lucas replaced the letter in the envelope with a new one and presented it to Romeo without making any remarks about it.
Quietly, Romeo accepted the letter. Confusing scrubbed just face in the mud as different thought plagued his head. He didn't even know where to start asking questions.
The previous letter envelope I was supposed to give you was your letter of leave. Remember you once talked about visiting your sick mom? I told you I would need to process your leave. Guess what? I just did. I was supposed to hand the letter to you, but what did you do? You messed things up," With a detailed explanation, Lucas briefed Romeo.
"And what about this new one?" Romeo asked in a low tone.
"Oh, you meant that?" Lucas pointed to the envelope in Romeo's possession.
"That's your suspension letter. You've been suspended for six months for misconduct and conspiracy. I would have made it an indefinite suspension but due to your good record, I decided to make it lesser. Good luck with your family," Lucas sharply announced and stayed quiet as though he never said anything.
He moved towards the exit door and unlocked it using his spare keys.
As he was about to exit the office, he told Romeo. "I don't want to see your ugly Ass around this station when I return by tomorrow. Else, you won't love what I will do to you. Don't play,"
Romeo didn't get the chance to plead for a second chance. He didn't even know the right utterances to use. In all of this, he blamed himself for speaking too early.
Perhaps, If I had shut my mouth and let him do the talking, I might still have my Job back," he mumbled in regret.
Rhoda walked out on Romeo as though she weren't aware what happened. She didn't even make any move to console Romeo.
Quietly, Romeo walked out of Lucas office straight to Dexter's cell. Few miles away from Dexter's, Romeo paused after spotting a familiar face at Dexter's previous cell that nearly got him killed.
Slowly, Romeo went to hid elsewhere in an isolated corner to prevent Lucas from seeing him.
What is Lucas doing with the inmates? And why are they smiling at him? Something must be wrong somewhere," Romeo soliloquies.
He had a feeling that Lucas was plotting a very dangerous move against Dexter that might turn out to be more deadly than a robbery attack.
"George, can you just listen to your son? Why aren't you saying anything about it?" Doctor Escobar asked George for some support. Sadly for him, it looked like George was ready to take sides with Derek. The look on George's face says it all. He might not have uttered a word, but he managed to send a message across that Doctor Escobar understood perfectly fine. He needed no one to explain further."What a show of disgrace. Just when I thought you'd be different from your brother. You turned out worse," Escobar hissed and walked away.Derek wasn't bothered by the gesture towards him. He would rather focus on the issue that brought him to the hospital."Derek, that was rude. After this conversation, you need to apologize to the Doctor. I didn't raise you to be that rude," George demanded and Derek obeyed without any argument. Even on his sick bed, he still has some sort of authority over Derek. "I just found out about Dexter's arrest from one of the nurses. Why haven't you done anythi
It's been over fifteen minutes since Ciara arrived at the address that Walters described, and she hasn't entered the building. She kept calling for Walters to come outside so she could hand him over. Unfortunately for Ciara, he wasn't picking up his calls. It got to a point where his phone reportedly went off. This got Ciara worried and scared at the same time. She regretted ever accepting to return the clothes and wallet to Walters. She only did that just to stop Walters from showing up to her Father's house again like he did the last time. What hurt Ciara the most was the fact that she had to disobey her Father just to come see Walters. The thought of this alone made her not to give up. She was determined to stay back and wait for Walters to return. She wasn't bothered by how long he stayed. She wouldn't want her effort to be in vain.As Ciara waited for Walters, she had her eyes combing the entirety of the neighborhood to ensure that no one came to assault her. "I still don't k
"Oops, it looks like you weren't aware that Dexter was arrested. Damn! Why did I tell you? I should have kept it to myself," Olivia facepalms. She thought Derek was aware of it. Now, she just got herself involved in bigger trouble because Doctor Escobar had warned them not to discuss Dexter's arrest with anyone. "I need to see the doctor or my Father this minute. I will address the arrest of Dexter after. But first, my Father is important. Lastly, don't be scared. I am not going to tell your Doctor that you told me about the arrest. It's nothing for you to worry about. I do understand how significant your job is, and I wouldn't want to jeopardize it," Derek assured. He wasn't ready to kill two birds with one stone."That way, please. That's the road to the Doctor's officeAnd please - don't forget the promise you had made. You know what they said about promises, right?' Nurse Olivia gave up trying to argue with Derek. She was damn convinced that the argument wasn't going to yield a
After spending ten minutes in the bathroom, Romeo stepped outside. At that time, he had already convinced himself that Nancy had gone for good. It was worse than a near-death experience for Romeo. He knew the wife he married and decided to act smart. He hadn't told her yet, and she was already acting like she would set the house ablaze. He can't imagine what will happen when he eventually does. "I just hope I can keep up with this lie for the next 6 months until I get my job back," Romeo prayed. He did a cross sign and went back to bed. The suspension at the station was somehow becoming a blessing in disguise for Romeo because he couldn't call the last time he had that long sleep. Let alone staying at home that long before. It wasn't too long when Romeo went to sleep, and he was already hearing some footsteps in his dream. He thought it was all a dream until he heard someone call his name. "Romeo!" The voice sounded like Nancy's. Instantly, Romeo tossed off the bed as fear grippe
It was just the first day without a Job, and Romeo's life hasn't remained the same anymore. There's a part of him that's missing from inside that he just can't fathom. He would roll to both sides of the bed like a snake due to frustration. He couldn't even summon the courage to tell his wife about the devastating news. He was scared that his wife might react badly to the news or do something crazy. He intends to keep the news to himself for the longest time possible until he's done helping Dexter get out of prison."Honey, I am off to work. I would also drop the kids at school on my way to work. If you ever feel hungry, your food is in the dining room. Love you!" Nancy, Romeo's wife, informed him. She kissed his forehead afterward.26 years of age, light-skinned, curly hair, and curved. They've been married for 10 years and blessed with 3 beautiful kids. Nancy was never supporting Romeo's decision to become a cop. She was scared that he might get shot to death on duty. As a gradua
"Hold on a second! I hope It's not what I am thinking that's running through your mind right now?" She freaked out. "I don't know what you think I'm thinking. But whatever it is, who knows? It might be a beautiful thing. Don't you think so?" Derek winked at Ciara and winked seductively. "Then you must be the biggest dreamer on earth. I don't see that happening. Just so you know, your dad and my Dad had arranged for your Brother, Dexter and I to be married," Like a rocket, Ciara launched the shocking news straight into Derek's heart."What the heck?" Derek exclaimed in shock and pulled over Immediately. "What are you doing? Why did you have to pull over like that? Were you trying to get us killed?""Have you agreed to get married to my brother?" Asked, Derek as he breathed heavily. He was lucky enough not to suffer a cardiac arrest. The news caught him aware. "Does it matter? I haven't arrived at my destination yet. Unless you want me to come down and start searching for a cab,"
