To obtain a piece of concrete evidence, Romeo brought out his phone to capture the moment. That was his assumption that turned out to be true.
Some moments later, Lucas went away, using the strange exit that no one ever thought of.
It became clear to Romeo why Lucas hadn't left yet. Because the last time Romeo checked, Lucas claimed he wanted to go home after he gave Romeo the letter.
Shortly after Lucas's departure, Romeo decided he was going to see Dexter. Until he arrived at Dexter's cell, he couldn't stop glancing around ensuring that no one saw him. Most especially Rhoda who wouldn't keep her mouth shut.
Arriving at the cell, Romeo saw that Dexter was fast asleep and already snoring like a baby dragon.
Romeo shook his head and said in pity. "Poor kid. He must have been through a lot. Just his first night in the cell and it's already looking like he's been here for ages,"
Romeo tried calling Dexter without having to cause a scene or let anyone know about it.
Quietly, he whispered Dexter's name, hoping the latter would wake up.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, as Dexter kept snoring so loud as though his life depended on it.
Tired of whispering, Romeo decided to employ another tactic. He decided to whistle at Dexter with the intention that it would work out.
And Of course, it did work out. After whistling for the fifth time, Dexter tossed off his feet as though has been chased in the dream with a machete.
His gaze was directed at Romeo, but he wasn't able to detect the identity due to his blurry vision.
"Officer Romeo?"
Dexter called out after a second look at Romeo
Covering his lips, Romeo signaled Dexter not to scream. He made another gesture, asking Dexter to come forward and he obeyed.
"I waited so long for you to show up. Please, how did it go?" Dexter asked.
Romeo edged backward after inhaling Dexter's stinking breath.
It didn't take too long for Dexter to notice why Romeo was acting funny.
"My breath, right?
I am sorry about that. I haven't had my bath since I was locked up. That's why I was desperate to reach out to my father," Dexter apologized. It still didn't stop his mouth from smelling like a rotten fish.
"I spoke with our superior and trust me, it didn't end well. As we speak right now, I've been dismissed for five months,"
Romeo shared the devastating news with Dexter. He didn't waste time spilling because he knew that it was just a matter of time before he got caught.
"Holy moly!
I apologize for causing you pain. Is there a way I could hold out?" Dexter said.
"Like seriously?
Are you even listening to yourself right? You haven't even helped yourself yet and you want to come through for me? Please don't even start," Romeo scoffed.
"I need your Father's phone contact and address. I need to speak with him myself. If I don't do that, you are going to spend the rest of your life in jail because Lucas isn't ready to let go," Romeo demanded.
"Now you freaking me out
Is there something I need to know?
You making it seem as though my life is in danger," Dexter raised the alarm. He couldn't withstand the fact that Romeo was speaking in parables.
"I can't tell you anything about that.
Do you want to come out of this place? Then you must obey me. I don't have the luxury of time to explain things to you. Just obey the fucking instructions," Romeo ordered. He didn't bother telling Dexter about the nasty thing he saw Lucas doing with the inmates. To him, that wasn't relevant.
Dexter was trying to convince himself that Dexter had no hidden agenda. However, his conscience keeps telling him otherwise.
"Can I have your phone?" Dexter stretches his hand to receive Romeo's phone. It dawned on him that if Romeo might come this far to the extent of losing his job, then he has got good intentions.
"Please do everything you need to do and get me out of here. Once again, I apologize for your Job," Dexter appreciated Romeo after typing his Father's phone number and contact address.
"Hey, what are you doing there?"
A voice called out from afar.
Immediately, Romeo went into hiding. He couldn't wait to confirm who was being called.
From his hideout, he pleaded with Dexter not to expose him. Romeo had every reason to run outside for safety, but he decided to hide. He still hasn't cleared the desk in his office yet.
"Who was with you?" Rhoda asked Dexter. The moment Romeo realized that it was Rhoda, his tension worsened. Not because he feared Rhoda, but for the fact that it was the same Rhoda that got him dismissed after she filed a report against him.
"You again?
I don't know what you are talking about," Dexter denied. He tried his best not to look at Romeo's hideout.
Rhoda was relentless
She combed the entire area trying to find the cop that Dexter was speaking with, but she couldn't find anyone.
She went back to Dexter with a different strategy. "Hey, if you tell me the truth, I promise to get you out of here,"
It was a sumptuous offer that may seem difficult for Dexter to resist.
If there's anything he wished for right now, it would be his freedom even if it means paying a fortune to ensure that happens
Even in his hideout, Romeo was restless. He knew how smart Rhoda was. He also feared that it might be difficult for Dexter to turn down the offer because Rhoda successfully used his weakness against him.
He waited.
Romeo waited for a response from Dexter. The delay in response was one of the reasons he lost all hope in Dexter.
Romeo started praying inside of him.
Something he hasn't done before all his life. Just when he thought all hope was lost, he heard Dexter telling Rhoda. "You can suck my dick! I rather die than speak. To hell with your offer. I can never be cajoled into your world of lies,"
"George, can you just listen to your son? Why aren't you saying anything about it?" Doctor Escobar asked George for some support. Sadly for him, it looked like George was ready to take sides with Derek. The look on George's face says it all. He might not have uttered a word, but he managed to send a message across that Doctor Escobar understood perfectly fine. He needed no one to explain further."What a show of disgrace. Just when I thought you'd be different from your brother. You turned out worse," Escobar hissed and walked away.Derek wasn't bothered by the gesture towards him. He would rather focus on the issue that brought him to the hospital."Derek, that was rude. After this conversation, you need to apologize to the Doctor. I didn't raise you to be that rude," George demanded and Derek obeyed without any argument. Even on his sick bed, he still has some sort of authority over Derek. "I just found out about Dexter's arrest from one of the nurses. Why haven't you done anythi
It's been over fifteen minutes since Ciara arrived at the address that Walters described, and she hasn't entered the building. She kept calling for Walters to come outside so she could hand him over. Unfortunately for Ciara, he wasn't picking up his calls. It got to a point where his phone reportedly went off. This got Ciara worried and scared at the same time. She regretted ever accepting to return the clothes and wallet to Walters. She only did that just to stop Walters from showing up to her Father's house again like he did the last time. What hurt Ciara the most was the fact that she had to disobey her Father just to come see Walters. The thought of this alone made her not to give up. She was determined to stay back and wait for Walters to return. She wasn't bothered by how long he stayed. She wouldn't want her effort to be in vain.As Ciara waited for Walters, she had her eyes combing the entirety of the neighborhood to ensure that no one came to assault her. "I still don't k
"Oops, it looks like you weren't aware that Dexter was arrested. Damn! Why did I tell you? I should have kept it to myself," Olivia facepalms. She thought Derek was aware of it. Now, she just got herself involved in bigger trouble because Doctor Escobar had warned them not to discuss Dexter's arrest with anyone. "I need to see the doctor or my Father this minute. I will address the arrest of Dexter after. But first, my Father is important. Lastly, don't be scared. I am not going to tell your Doctor that you told me about the arrest. It's nothing for you to worry about. I do understand how significant your job is, and I wouldn't want to jeopardize it," Derek assured. He wasn't ready to kill two birds with one stone."That way, please. That's the road to the Doctor's officeAnd please - don't forget the promise you had made. You know what they said about promises, right?' Nurse Olivia gave up trying to argue with Derek. She was damn convinced that the argument wasn't going to yield a
After spending ten minutes in the bathroom, Romeo stepped outside. At that time, he had already convinced himself that Nancy had gone for good. It was worse than a near-death experience for Romeo. He knew the wife he married and decided to act smart. He hadn't told her yet, and she was already acting like she would set the house ablaze. He can't imagine what will happen when he eventually does. "I just hope I can keep up with this lie for the next 6 months until I get my job back," Romeo prayed. He did a cross sign and went back to bed. The suspension at the station was somehow becoming a blessing in disguise for Romeo because he couldn't call the last time he had that long sleep. Let alone staying at home that long before. It wasn't too long when Romeo went to sleep, and he was already hearing some footsteps in his dream. He thought it was all a dream until he heard someone call his name. "Romeo!" The voice sounded like Nancy's. Instantly, Romeo tossed off the bed as fear grippe
It was just the first day without a Job, and Romeo's life hasn't remained the same anymore. There's a part of him that's missing from inside that he just can't fathom. He would roll to both sides of the bed like a snake due to frustration. He couldn't even summon the courage to tell his wife about the devastating news. He was scared that his wife might react badly to the news or do something crazy. He intends to keep the news to himself for the longest time possible until he's done helping Dexter get out of prison."Honey, I am off to work. I would also drop the kids at school on my way to work. If you ever feel hungry, your food is in the dining room. Love you!" Nancy, Romeo's wife, informed him. She kissed his forehead afterward.26 years of age, light-skinned, curly hair, and curved. They've been married for 10 years and blessed with 3 beautiful kids. Nancy was never supporting Romeo's decision to become a cop. She was scared that he might get shot to death on duty. As a gradua
"Hold on a second! I hope It's not what I am thinking that's running through your mind right now?" She freaked out. "I don't know what you think I'm thinking. But whatever it is, who knows? It might be a beautiful thing. Don't you think so?" Derek winked at Ciara and winked seductively. "Then you must be the biggest dreamer on earth. I don't see that happening. Just so you know, your dad and my Dad had arranged for your Brother, Dexter and I to be married," Like a rocket, Ciara launched the shocking news straight into Derek's heart."What the heck?" Derek exclaimed in shock and pulled over Immediately. "What are you doing? Why did you have to pull over like that? Were you trying to get us killed?""Have you agreed to get married to my brother?" Asked, Derek as he breathed heavily. He was lucky enough not to suffer a cardiac arrest. The news caught him aware. "Does it matter? I haven't arrived at my destination yet. Unless you want me to come down and start searching for a cab,"
