"In normal circumstances, I would kick your friend out of the hospital. Maybe I shouldn't have attended to you in the first place because you wasted my precious time," the Doctor lamented. It didn't seem like he was gonna stick to his word after the delay.
"Please, don't do this.
I knew what it took me to get him here. I don't want my effort to be in vain," Kelly pleaded. He knew it was that time when he needed to stay humble just to get what he wanted.
"What's going on here? Where's my father? Where can I sign the consent form?" Dexter asked after he joined them.
Doctor Escobar and Kelly never responded as they both shared a telling look. They both seem to have the same thoughts running through their head.
"Can someone please say something?" Dexter flared up.
Ignoring Dexter's ranting, doctor Escobar told Kelly. "Can you please teach this boy some manners?" Doctor Escobar walked to the office after the instruction.
"What is he talking about? Did you bring me here to be insulted?" Dexter fumed, directing his frustration at Kelly.
"If that's the reason you brought me here, then I as well go back home," Dexter added. He got the perfect excuse to leave, and it came at the right time.
"Hell no, you can't,"
Kelly pulled Dexter back with one arm.
"That man is the doctor attending to your father. I am pretty sure he didn't mean what he said. He is just upset that we showed up late," Kelly took his time to explain the reason for Doctor Escobar's rage.
"We?" Dexter echoed.
"Did you just say we showed up late? Why didn't you explain to the doctor that my father delayed us? Perhaps, if he had accepted my demand, we would have sorted it out a long time ago,"
"Okay. I apologize for blaming you. It was entirely my fault. I accept the responsibility. Can we go now?" Kelly pleaded. He was doing everything possible to make Dexter put a finishing touch on the consent form.
"Fine! I agree with you, but if he dares try to speak to me in that tone of voice again, I will leave and never return," Dexter warned as he finally accepted.
Immediately they got to Doctor Escobar's office; Kelly stepped forward to prevent a time bomb from awaiting explosion. "Before you speak, I want to apologize for what happened out there. Trust me, Dexter is a cool guy. He isn't who you think he is,"
Doctor Escobar sighed. He had already prepared his utterances before Kelly's apology returned the words to his mouth and sealed his lips.
"Sign here," Escobar passed the consent form to Dexter, indicating where to insert his signature.
Kelly had his eyes focused on Dexter's hand, making sure that Dexter signed the form because he was quite aware of what Dexter was capable of doing.
"Thank goodness!
It's over now," Kelly exclaimed and did a cross sign after confirming Dexter's signature on the consent form. To him, it was more than a narrow escape to death.
"We are done now.
I guess I am allowed to leave,"
Dexter asked
"You're just gonna leave like that? Without seeing your Father?" Doctor Escobar asked. He already promised not to get himself in Dexter's affairs. However, this one seemed too crucial to be overlooked. He can't seem to fathom how a son wouldn't care about his father's health condition.
"And who are you to tell me what to do? Who made you the judge over my life?" Dexter clapped back just when Kelly thought it wouldn't get any worse.
Kelly exempted himself from the chaos and took no side with anyone. The only thing he cared about was ensuring that Dexter signed the consent form, and that has been accomplished. Anything else that happens after that is irrelevant to him.
"Kelly, can you please say something?
Maybe he would listen to you. I don't want to say what's on my mind right now." Doctor Escobar backed off to allow Kelly to handle the situation.
"Dexter," Kelly initiated the conversation with Dexter.
He wasn't done talking when Dexter silenced him with an upraised arm. "Don't you dare say what's on your mind. I already did what I came here for. I don't want to get myself involved in anything else. It's not as though my father is dying anyway. It was just a normal panic attack. I'm sure with a few treatments, he would be fine,"
"Just a small panic attack?
The same attack you caused?
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Can't you be focused for once in your entire miserable life?" Kelly roared like a wounded Lion. He's been keeping quiet since for reasons best known to him, but not anymore.
Dexter had stepped on his toes and pushed him to the wall so many times he just couldn't ignore it.
"Now you listen to me.
You are not going to speak to me that way next time because you are not my father. My father won't even dare speak to me in that tone of voice, let alone a pauper like you," Dexter responded immediately.
Out of anger, Kelly stood up and raised his hand in an attempt to land a thunderous slap on Dexter's face. It took the intervention of Doctor Escobar to stop him.
"Please, let it go.
You don't need this.
I don't want you fighting with some kid that could pass as your son," Doctor Escobar begged. It was strange seeing him advocate for peace. Considering his tough personality, it would have been argued that Escobar isn't a staunch advocate for harmony.
"Why are you begging him to stop?
I want to see the stuff he's made of.
It's often said that poor men and anger issues are inseparable like Siamese twins," Dexter mocked Kelly with wicked laughter.
It was Kelly who was insulted, but it was Doctor Escobar who felt it inside his bone, forcing him to step into action as he kicked Dexter out of the office.
And when Dexter refused to leave, Doctor Escobar called the security, who showed up and bundled Dexter outside like a criminal. It was indeed a relief for both Doctor Escobar and Kelly.
"What are you scared of? I don't bite. Come on, take the envelope from me and stop acting like a baby already. An officer like you shouldn't be fidgeting. Have you forgotten what I told you about being courageous? You never can tell, it might be your letter of promotion," Lucas said. Romeo saw that as a trick and refused to fall for it. Without hesitation, he went on his knees immediately and pleaded for Lucas forgiveness. "I am sorry for the things I did to you. None of them were intentional. I've learned my lessons now. Please, I don't want to end up like Tony. I deserve a second chance,"The dismissal of Tony still lives rent-free in Romeo's head like a movie. He wouldn't want his situation to be like that. "You don't want to end up like Tony, right? That's quite ambitious if you ask me," Lucas scoffed."I don't know what you are talking about. I can't recall what happened to Tony. Can you please remind me?" "You dismissed him because of Dexter Cooper, sir. Not just that, he als
"He needs to reach out to his Father. His Father is not even aware that he's been arrested," Romeo pleaded. He was ready to scrub both knees on the tiled floor just to prove how serious he was. "Now this is getting more serious than I expected. How much did Dexter pay you to do this for him? Because I mean, you can't go this for a total stranger you know nothing about," Rhoda confronted Romeo with the disturbing question."Excuse me?" Romeo fumed. "What do you take me for? Do you think I'm one of those hungry-looking cops out there who would sell their dignity for money?" "Perhaps, she might be right. No one knows the reason you are doing this," A masculine voice interrupted them from close range. The voice sounded like Lucas. Where Romeo was, he prayed silently and wished it wasn't Lucas. Lucas, so far, has proved to be Romeo's greatest fear ever. He wasn't even confident enough to look into Lucas' eyes and speak to him directly, let alone confront him. "Good evening, Boss. You ar
"I am listening to you Romeo. Since you got here, you haven't said anything worthy of my attention. I just hope I am not wasting my time with you? Because I was doing something significant before you showed up," Rhoda raised the concern. What Rhoda was concerned about was Romeo's lack of confidence. She didn't know him to be this shaky to the extent where he could barely speak fluently to save his life."Of course not. I assure you, you're not gonna regret having this conversation with me, and I am not even kidding," Romeo created the assurance. He paused afterward. Rhoda signaled him to speak further, but he missed the sign. Romeo made it seem like that both placed a bet on the last person to hold his breath for too long."What the fuck do you think you are doing? You've been quiet for some time now. I should have known that you were just wasting my time. What exactly do you want me to do for you? And I do hope it's something I can handle?" Rhoda asked for clarification. Romeo's a
Dexter struggled to keep up with Romeo's tempo. At the same time, he struggled to breathe properly. He hasn't seen anything like that before. The taunting from Romeo got into Dexter's head. But what was he going to do about it? Absolutely nothing! He was willing to endure the present struggle and hope for a better tomorrow. Dexter was quite aware of his numerous tortures in the hands of Jaguar and would rather not go back to that phase anymore. No one has ever inflicted so much pain on Dexter before since he was born. Not even his beloved Father or late mother.Jaguar treated Dexter as though Dexter were his biological son. It was an ugly experience for Dexter. He would give up an arm to forget about it. "Take a look at these bunch of keys. What do they mean to you? Do they ring a bell to you, or do you want me to spell it out so you would understand perfectly well what I am talking about?" Romeo asked, flashing the keys to the cell across Dexter's face. "They're the keys to y
"Welcome to your new cell, Dexter Cooper. I hope you do like it here. What the heck am I saying? Surely, are going to love it. I mean, it's surely better than your Father's palatial mansion, isn't it?" Romeo teased Dexter with a burst of wicked laughter after they arrived at a new cell. Looking at it alone, Dexter hated it. He chose not to say a word about it to avoid getting on Romeo's nerves. . It turns out that the former cell was more attractive and conducive than the new one Romeo brought Dexter to. The only difference there was Jaguar and his boys that made life a living hell for Dexter. Dexter spent lots of time scrutinizing in his new home. He was filled with regret and wished he hadn't wished for a transfer. But the thought of being beaten to death by Jaguar still scares him to death. "What are you going to say about this? You are taking too much time on something that isn't even worth that stress, and I don't like it. Are we going to spend the entire day talking about
"What do you expect me to do about this now? I still can't believe that are seriously seeking for my help. Everything is still a dream to me. Someone should please wake me up from the illusion before I go insane," Romeo said, slapping his chin to be certain he wasn't imagining things that aren't real. He still wasn't convinced about his decision yet. If Romeo was made to decide immediately without thinking about it, he would chose to walk away from the case just like every other cops. Not for once did Romeo liked Dexter. These two has got a lot of history together. Thinking about the nastiest things that Dexter had done in the past is making Romeo have a second guess. "Please, take me to a new cell. I might end up dead once you leave. These guys are threatened to torture me to death. Please come to my rescue. I don't wanna die," Dexter pleaded as hot tears rolled down his eyes. "You wanna be transferred to another cell? Now I see why you're being dealt with. What have you been
