"Why are you telling me?
What do you want me to do with this irrelevant piece of information right now? Because I can't seem to understand where you are going with this," Kelly spoke from the back seat.
Turning his direction over to Kelly, Dexter responded. "Are you that dumb that you can't think? Do I need to spell it out to you? Isn't it obvious already? I want you to call my Father immediately. Let him know of the recent development to avoid getting him disappointed eventually,"
"How do you even sleep at night, knowing that your brain is empty? It must be so hard for you, isn't it? Don't worry; I thoroughly understand the pain you are going through. You must be the greatest fool on earth if you ever think I will pay attention to you. The last I checked, he's your father. You've got his mobile number, don't you? Why don't you call him yourself rather than burden me with your responsibility?" Dexter snarled. He remained firm on his decision and wasn't scared that Dexter was going to do something nasty to him.
Dexter sighed, checked his phone, and mumbled. "We can proceed with the trip. I changed my mind already,"
"Wait. Don't start the car yet.," Kelly halted Dexter. "Why the sudden change of mind? I am curious to find out. Don't tell me anymore. I think I know the reason now. Let me guess, your date disappointed you, didn't she? Serves you right. Now you know what it feels like to be disappointed in the dying minutes." Kelly burst into wicked laughter to mock Dexter, knowing how upset the latter was.
"This is the point where you mind your fucking business and stay out of my affairs for good. I am not going to remind you again.." Dexter warned Kelly.
"Gosh! How did I even end up talking to you, let alone seated in the same car with you? When was the last time you had your bath? If it wasn't for my father, you wouldn't even dare speak to me," Kelly's taunting penetrates deep into his skin.
Unfortunately for Dexter, his threat wasn't enough to scare Kelly away.
Until they arrive at the hospital, Kelly won't stop laughing to spite Dexter to unleash the beast in him. It got to some point, Dexter was tempted to pull over in the middle of the road to fight Kelly.
Somehow, he managed to control his rage. He just wanted to sign the consent form and walk away. He figured that stopping to fight Dexter would surely ruin his plans for the night.
"We've arrived at the hospital. I guess you are happy now? Now it's the time I need you to pay attention to me. Widen your ears so you don't miss out on what I want to say to you. Once we arrive in my father's ward, you are not allowed to speak unless you are being asked a question. Of course, I know my father would want to know why we took so long to get there," Dexter instructed Kelly as though he were his student.
Kelly nodded in response. "Yes, sir. Your wish is my command. You don't have to worry about a thing. Is there anything else you would want me to do for you? I would gladly obey your rules." Kelly also bowed to Dexter like a slave to his master.
Deep down, Kelly knew there was no way he would adhere to those silly instructions by Dexter. He pretends to agree just to lure Dexter to the hospital and sign a consent form. Kelly barely spent the whole day with Dexter, yet he already studied Dexter as though he were a course at the University.
As they walked inside the hospital, the first person they encountered was Doctor Escobar. They met him the moment he stepped out of the hospital. Doctor Escobar did see Kelly, yet pretends not to.
"Isn't that Doctor Escobar? Why did he ignore me as though I never existed?" Kelly muttered to himself. He couldn't understand why Doctor Escobar had to publicly deny him as though there was a heated argument between them.
"So now what? You haven't said anything since we got here.
Is this how we are going to stand here for eternity? It's late already. I have to be somewhere right now," Dexter complained about the silent treatment he was getting from Kelly. He had barely just arrived at the hospital, and his legs were hurting as though he'd been standing for hours.
Ignoring Dexter's question, Kelly ran after Doctor Escobar, screaming his name out loud. "Doctor, please wait,"
Doctor Escobar was still consistent in his pretense, as he walked faster with his short legs. Not for once, did he look behind to confirm who was calling.
Surprisingly, doctor Escobar wasn't heading to George's ward. This made Kelly wonder if George was still in the hospital or if he got kicked out as Doctor Escobar had promised.
Luckily for Kelly, he was able to catch up with Doctor Escobar. And when he did, his strength was gone. He held his chest while struggling to breathe.
"If you continue running that way, you might just end up replacing your friend in the ward," Doctor Escobar taunted Kelly without a smile.
"Wait a minute. What did you just say? Do you mean George is still In the hospital? You haven't kicked him out?" Kelly was stunned and needed some clarity.
"I don't understand your question. I can't recall telling you that I kicked him out. How did you arrive at your conclusion?"
"You know what?
Never mind! Just forget I asked," Kelly dodged an impending storm. He knew that the question got Doctor Escobar pissed off and quickly changed the topic.
"You see that man over there?" Kelly said, pointing towards Dexter, who was approaching their area.
"He's Dexter, George's son. His Father asked me to go fetch him to sign the consent form," Kelly added with a smile. To him, it was a mission of accomplishment, since Dexter had finally shown up in the hospital.
"What are you scared of? I don't bite. Come on, take the envelope from me and stop acting like a baby already. An officer like you shouldn't be fidgeting. Have you forgotten what I told you about being courageous? You never can tell, it might be your letter of promotion," Lucas said. Romeo saw that as a trick and refused to fall for it. Without hesitation, he went on his knees immediately and pleaded for Lucas forgiveness. "I am sorry for the things I did to you. None of them were intentional. I've learned my lessons now. Please, I don't want to end up like Tony. I deserve a second chance,"The dismissal of Tony still lives rent-free in Romeo's head like a movie. He wouldn't want his situation to be like that. "You don't want to end up like Tony, right? That's quite ambitious if you ask me," Lucas scoffed."I don't know what you are talking about. I can't recall what happened to Tony. Can you please remind me?" "You dismissed him because of Dexter Cooper, sir. Not just that, he als
"He needs to reach out to his Father. His Father is not even aware that he's been arrested," Romeo pleaded. He was ready to scrub both knees on the tiled floor just to prove how serious he was. "Now this is getting more serious than I expected. How much did Dexter pay you to do this for him? Because I mean, you can't go this for a total stranger you know nothing about," Rhoda confronted Romeo with the disturbing question."Excuse me?" Romeo fumed. "What do you take me for? Do you think I'm one of those hungry-looking cops out there who would sell their dignity for money?" "Perhaps, she might be right. No one knows the reason you are doing this," A masculine voice interrupted them from close range. The voice sounded like Lucas. Where Romeo was, he prayed silently and wished it wasn't Lucas. Lucas, so far, has proved to be Romeo's greatest fear ever. He wasn't even confident enough to look into Lucas' eyes and speak to him directly, let alone confront him. "Good evening, Boss. You ar
"I am listening to you Romeo. Since you got here, you haven't said anything worthy of my attention. I just hope I am not wasting my time with you? Because I was doing something significant before you showed up," Rhoda raised the concern. What Rhoda was concerned about was Romeo's lack of confidence. She didn't know him to be this shaky to the extent where he could barely speak fluently to save his life."Of course not. I assure you, you're not gonna regret having this conversation with me, and I am not even kidding," Romeo created the assurance. He paused afterward. Rhoda signaled him to speak further, but he missed the sign. Romeo made it seem like that both placed a bet on the last person to hold his breath for too long."What the fuck do you think you are doing? You've been quiet for some time now. I should have known that you were just wasting my time. What exactly do you want me to do for you? And I do hope it's something I can handle?" Rhoda asked for clarification. Romeo's a
Dexter struggled to keep up with Romeo's tempo. At the same time, he struggled to breathe properly. He hasn't seen anything like that before. The taunting from Romeo got into Dexter's head. But what was he going to do about it? Absolutely nothing! He was willing to endure the present struggle and hope for a better tomorrow. Dexter was quite aware of his numerous tortures in the hands of Jaguar and would rather not go back to that phase anymore. No one has ever inflicted so much pain on Dexter before since he was born. Not even his beloved Father or late mother.Jaguar treated Dexter as though Dexter were his biological son. It was an ugly experience for Dexter. He would give up an arm to forget about it. "Take a look at these bunch of keys. What do they mean to you? Do they ring a bell to you, or do you want me to spell it out so you would understand perfectly well what I am talking about?" Romeo asked, flashing the keys to the cell across Dexter's face. "They're the keys to y
"Welcome to your new cell, Dexter Cooper. I hope you do like it here. What the heck am I saying? Surely, are going to love it. I mean, it's surely better than your Father's palatial mansion, isn't it?" Romeo teased Dexter with a burst of wicked laughter after they arrived at a new cell. Looking at it alone, Dexter hated it. He chose not to say a word about it to avoid getting on Romeo's nerves. . It turns out that the former cell was more attractive and conducive than the new one Romeo brought Dexter to. The only difference there was Jaguar and his boys that made life a living hell for Dexter. Dexter spent lots of time scrutinizing in his new home. He was filled with regret and wished he hadn't wished for a transfer. But the thought of being beaten to death by Jaguar still scares him to death. "What are you going to say about this? You are taking too much time on something that isn't even worth that stress, and I don't like it. Are we going to spend the entire day talking about
"What do you expect me to do about this now? I still can't believe that are seriously seeking for my help. Everything is still a dream to me. Someone should please wake me up from the illusion before I go insane," Romeo said, slapping his chin to be certain he wasn't imagining things that aren't real. He still wasn't convinced about his decision yet. If Romeo was made to decide immediately without thinking about it, he would chose to walk away from the case just like every other cops. Not for once did Romeo liked Dexter. These two has got a lot of history together. Thinking about the nastiest things that Dexter had done in the past is making Romeo have a second guess. "Please, take me to a new cell. I might end up dead once you leave. These guys are threatened to torture me to death. Please come to my rescue. I don't wanna die," Dexter pleaded as hot tears rolled down his eyes. "You wanna be transferred to another cell? Now I see why you're being dealt with. What have you been
