CHAPTER 2

Aurora's POV:

"Who are you?" I asked the white spirit wolf because I did not have a wolf. My sister possessed a brown wolf, and she demonstrated strength, but since I turned fourteen and could not shift, my parents' behavior toward me grew worse.

"I am your wolf, a spirit wolf. The Moon Goddess gifted me to you to keep you safe and help you through your life journey," she said, and it felt like a dream.

"Are you for real?" I asked her, doubting the reality of my situation.

"Of course," the wolf said before she came forward to meet me.

"Do you want me or not?" The spirit wolf asked, and I hesitated, not knowing if I could trust her.

"Trust me, Aurora. The Moon Goddess hears all your cries," she said, and I sighed and accepted her hand.

Once my hand touched the wolf's hand, it entered me like a magnetic force, and I felt light glow in my chest until it vanished.

"Spirit wolf, are you there? Spirit wolf, can you hear me?" I tried to reach out to the white wolf, but she had gone.

My heart grew heavy, and I started sobbing again. "Why did you leave me?"

"I have not left you, Aurora. I am in you. I take time to adjust to my new body. We stand together in this, and I serve as your wolf," she said, and I felt happy.

"Can I shift to you?" I asked her nervously, remembering the day of my fourteenth birthday when my parents took me out to the woods to shift. Snow fell heavily, but they wanted to know if I had a wolf or not.

However, they waited in vain when I could not shift. They looked at me with disappointment and hoped I would shift on my fifteenth birthday. But seeing that I remained wolfless, they focused all their love and attention on Quincy.

"You do not have to think about all that," my wolf said.

"What is your name?" I asked her, and she replied, "Malani."

"Well, Malani, my parents will not allow me to go out of the house. Today marks our Alpha's son's birthday, Alpha Xander Roland. My parents believe that he will propose to Quincy, my older sister. They believe she will become the next Luna, so they forbid me from going tonight. How about we shift tomorrow?" I asked Malani, excited to shift to her.

"Mmm. I do not think that is a good idea. You should not weaken yourself because of your family. They do not care about you, and you should prioritize your happiness first," Malani said, and I sighed.

"Mmm. Let us wait. Next weekend marks my eighteenth birthday. I feel so happy to have you, Malani," I purred, and she laughed, making my heart flutter.

"You are welcome, Aurora," Malani said before I left the room to find the maids and have them serve me dinner. After all, I had the big house to myself.

Once I found the two maids, they looked away from me and gossiped in the kitchen as they towered over me. Because of my parents' maltreatment, I had not eaten well. So I remained somewhat short and slim.

But now, I chose to believe Malani, my wolf, and I wanted to eat as much as possible instead of sobbing over a crime that I did not commit.

I met the two maids, Lola and Linda, in the kitchen; they were older than me and over twenty-two years old.

"Can I have my dinner?" I asked Lola first; she wore a brown dress and black slippers. She had long brown hair too.

"Haha! Did you hear anyone talking?" Lola asked Linda, who laughed. "No. I cannot see anyone beneath my feet. Haha!"

"Mmmm," I fumed with rage, and I realized this rage came from Malani, not me.

"Serve my dinners now unless you both face firing!" I yelled at them, and they trembled, looking at me in shock, as I had never talked back to them before.

"Fine. We will serve it," Linda murmured as she turned and went back into the kitchen.

Lola looked at me in surprise, wondering where I had gotten such bravery from. However, as I peered at Lola's face, I saw through her past, like I could see a vision at that moment. Did Malani cause this too? I panicked but trusted my wolf.

"You stole the jade earrings and tried to frame me for it?" I asked Lola, and she trembled.

"I do not know what you talk about. Do not try to frame me," Lola said, and my brows furrowed.

"Mmm. We shall see about that," I said while Linda came out of the kitchen and handed the tray to me.

"Here is your meal," Linda said, but I refused to take it.

"Take it to the dining table, and you will have to taste it first," I said with a smile, even though I knew Linda had not put anything dangerous in the food.

Not wanting to lose her job, Linda muttered, "Fine." She swiftly marched away and went to the dining table to serve my meal.

However, as Linda set the food on the silver dining table, I walked up to the first chair and sat there like a princess.

"Over here," I gestured to the table, and Linda carried the tray and came over to serve me again. She tasted the food and stepped back.

"Good. You can leave my sight and do not forget who holds charge here," I said with a firm voice, meeting Linda's gaze. She lowered her head and replied, "Understood."

Linda left my side, and I picked up the spoon and started eating.

My mind wandered to Quincy and Lola. I knew Lola served as Quincy's favorite maid. I caught a snippet of Linda and Lola's conversation in the kitchen. Surprisingly, I could hear them from the dining room, which lay farther away from the kitchen with closed doors.

"What has come over Aurora? How dare she talk to us like that? Did she forget who she is? She is an Omega too and a wolfless Omega," Lola spat, subtly angry.

Linda lowered her voice out of fear of losing her job. "Lola, I advise that we avoid Aurora. Did you not notice how her voice held so much command? What if she has found her wolf? You know her family will resume loving her, and they will punish us for disrespecting her. After all, she belongs to the Stanley family."

"Tsk. I doubt they want to have anything to do with that shorty. Do not waste your energy respecting Aurora. She does not have any wolf, and she stands not above us. The Stanleys said so themselves that Aurora serves as a maid here," Lola said, her voice irritable.

"Mmm. I still do not want to provoke Aurora. So you can choose to provoke her on your own," Linda said as she walked out of the kitchen and met my gaze. Her voice softened as she asked, "Do you need anything?"

A vision appeared to me, and I saw Linda's father remarry and cast her out of his home like my family had done to me.

"Your father will marry a new mate. You and your mother should prepare to leave the house," I said, and Linda panicked.

"What do you mean? My dad loves my mother so much," Linda replied, subtly annoyed, and I smiled.

"A word is enough for the wise. In just five days, someone will invite you home to pack your things. The new mistress carries a pregnancy from another man, but she pinned the baby on your father. Since he wants a son badly, she plans to kill your father and blame it on your mother. And not just that, she plans to advise your father to marry you off too. So get prepared. Either you move out now with your mother or face the doom that lies ahead," I said, and Linda stood staring at me in shock, as if she already connected the dots.

"Are you sure about this? My mother and I have nowhere to go," Linda sobbed, and I shook my head.

"I am sorry, but I cannot help you. You both have to figure a way out for yourselves. Before you leave, clear the table," I said as I picked up a napkin and wiped my lips and hands.

Malani had passed that message to Linda, not me. Before I met my wolf, I possessed no abilities. And now, learning that I could see the past, present, and future amused me. But unfortunately, I could not see my own.

(Aurora's POV)A few minutes later, as I saw the time in the room was past 4 p.m., my room door swung open, and a health worker arrived, carrying a tray of my dinner."Here's your food," she said, serving it on the table next to my bed. Before I could speak, the door opened again, and Nora Edmond rushed into the room to meet me."Aurora, oh my goodness! What happened at home? Why did you attack Quincy to warrant you getting punished before the whole pack?" She asked as she rushed up to my bed to meet me.Nora wore a pink dress that fell past her knees as it was a loose-fitting dress, featuring a pair of black shoes. She was carrying a brown bag and also wearing a brown pair of slippers. She packed her long brown hair into a ponytail, as she was a thick brown-skinned girl at 17."Nora," I wiped off my tears, my heart aching painfully after getting to know that Alpha Xander and Quincy had been intimate."What's wrong, Aurora? Speak to me?" She asked, taking a step forward to meet me on

  • Married To The Alpha I Hate   Chapter 11

(Aurora's POV) Waking up on the hospital bed, the thick smell of disinfectant filled my nostrils. The incident at the pack square echoed in my mind, and I discovered that I was laying on my tummy, my back exposed. "Mm," I whimpered and tried to turn, but I heard the voices in the room. "Dad, how can Aurora take your place and get flogged by Xander?" It was Kaleb's voice. He acted like he didn't care, now he was here in the hospital room, asking my father. Was he trying to know what our father has to say? Dad sighed and said, "I hope this heals faster. She doesn't have a wolf, and if it doesn't get treated well, it could leave a scar." "Mmm, you shouldn't have slapped Quincy last night. No matter what she did. Of what use is Aurora to us? Quincy is the one to become Alpha Xander's chosen mate, and you ought to have respected that position," my brother said, his voice sharp, like he was blaming Dad, like he believes that my father should have been the one to get punished. Dad sigh

  • Married To The Alpha I Hate   CHAPTER 10

Aurora's POV: "No way. I do not want anyone mistreating you, and as an alpha, I do not go back on my words. Guards!" Alpha Xander summoned, and two masculine guards came in. "Yes, Alpha," they bowed their heads to him as they dressed in black. "Get the whip and flog Beta Adrian. Twenty lashes on his back. I want him to feel the pain that he put on my girlfriend too," Alpha Xander said, unconcerned that the man he wanted to humiliate served as my father—his mentor who trained him in the warriors' camp and taught him how to fight. The two guards' eyes widened, and one of them hesitated to take out his whip as he asked Alpha Xander once more, "Alpha, do you insist that we flog Beta Adrian?" A flicker of hesitation crossed the guard's face because he did not want to do that. "Yes!" Xander growled. "Or do you want to get punished and suspended for failing to follow my orders? I serve as the Alpha's son, and I order you to flog Beta Adrian now!" The guards gulped hard. Their bodies tr

  • Married To The Alpha I Hate   CHAPTER 9

Aurora's POV: The following Sunday, I woke up in my room, and rays of sunlight seeped into my room and landed on my face. Getting up on the bed, the events of the previous night flashed in my mind, and I frowned at the thought of Alpha Xander kissing my lips. My room door swung open, and my mother stood there, wearing a white nightdress as she looked at me contemptuously. "What do you still do on the bed at this time of the day, Aurora? Get up quickly!" My mother yelled, and only then did my eyes land on the clock. I felt stunned to see that it stood at 10 a.m. "Oh no. I have slept so long," I said, getting out of the bed, and my mother looked at me disgustedly. Mom walked into my room, grasped my left arm, and yelled at me, "Aurora, do not think that because your father supported you last night, that will give you the right to behave as you like. Get out and take care of sweeping the house. Do not act as a lazy girl!" She let go of me, but I did not protest or say anything. I

  • Married To The Alpha I Hate   CHAPTER 8

Aurora's POV: My heart still throbbed rapidly when I arrived home. The guards still slept. I still could not believe that Alpha Xander Roland dared to kiss me tonight. His lips left a sweet grape scent in my mouth, and I felt annoyed at myself for allowing him to kiss me. "Get it together, Aurora. I cannot be with him. He serves as Quincy's boyfriend!" I growled at myself, and I heard the sound of footsteps approaching my door. "Aurora!" My father called to my attention, and I stilled because I expected him to sleep. I wanted to pretend that I slept because I lacked an explanation for him. Before I could rush to the bed and lie on it, my father threw my door open and appeared at the door. "Aurora, where do you come from?" Dad asked me, his voice stern, and I felt surprised that he knew I left the house. "Dad… I…" I tried to come up with an excuse as I stood beside my bed, and he scowled. "Did I not warn you not to leave the house, most especially at night to try to shift to a wol

  • Married To The Alpha I Hate   CHAPTER 7

Xander's POV: "What is that jasmine smell?" I growled aloud as the intoxicating scent drew me in. Johnny perceived her scent. It intoxicated him. Very addictive, it prompted Johnny to take charge of my body before I could react. "Mate!" Johnny growled in my head, and I hated that my wolf opposed me so strongly. I recalled that I wore the emerald bracelet that Bailey had given me, and it glowed greener on my right hand. "Damn it!" Even in my wolf form, Johnny stood massive. He ran as fast as a deer in search of his mate. Then we arrived at the spot, and I felt shocked to see Aurora hiding behind the grape tree. It served as my favorite tree. What did she do here? I pondered as my brows furrowed. Annoyed, I shifted back to my human self. Thankfully, I wore my black boxers; I would not feel comfortable if my girlfriend's sister saw me nàked. "Come out from behind the tree," I ordered Aurora, seeing her try to shield her body with the white dress that she held. Aurora stood stark
