Nathan’s POV

It was just a precaution, I tried convincing myself.

Rosalie was becoming unpredictable, and sending a guard to spy on her was my way of helping her.

Now I could vouch for her whereabouts without worrying.

But that wasn't entirely true…

That was just an alibi to hide the main reason I grew suspicious… Brad.

She was adamant to get me to talk but the moment she heard his voice she changed her mind.

Why did she want to speak to him in private?

What did she want to say to him that she couldn't in front of me?

I didn't want to pry in their business but the unease refused to go so I took drastic measures.

And sent one of the patrol guards, told him to keep his distance, just observe. I didn’t want to know everything. I just… needed to know enough.

If it was something casual this would only be nothing more than a security measure but if it wasn't…

No, there was no other outcome that could come out of this.

The knock on my door came earlier than I expected.

Rosalia's POVThe scent hit me before my eyes fluttered open, and for a moment I forgot where I was. A blanket was wrapped on my shoulders, one that had a strong male scent which reminded me of his cologne. Then I remembered it was Brad's penthouse. I couldn't recall when I fell asleep but the spot next to me was empty.I snuggled deeper into the blanket with a quiet sigh, the kind that slips out when you’re safe and warm and don't want to move.A soft voice cut through the morning stillness.“Good morning, Rosalie.”I blinked up blearily, leaning forward I caught him on the counter next to the kitchen.Something smelled so goddamn delicious.Brad walked towards me and my eyes popped beneath the apron. He was shirtless, bathed in a subtle red glow from the rising sun reflecting off the tall windows. It painted a warm hue across his skin, his large frame somehow even more intimidating and handsome in the light. My throat tightened. It just wasn't what was in the kitchen that stirred

Rosalia's POVMy eyes popped out at his utterance“You'll look good in a bunny suit!” he spoke again I blinked, staring at him, unsure if I heard correctly. It took all of three seconds before I realized…He was completely drunk.A startled chuckle escaped me, and I pressed a hand to my lips. “Brad… you’re wasted.”He squinted at me, one eye closing halfway. “You should join me.” I laughed, for real this time, and moved closer to steady him before he toppled over.“I love you too, Brad,” I whispered playfully, wrapping my arms around him, trying not to let the ache in my chest show. “Even if you smell like tequila and gin.”He melted into me, burying his face in my neck with a contented sigh. “You’re warm,” he mumbled. “Like a…a hot water bottle. But prettier.”I held him tightly, gently rubbing his back. I felt a pang of guilt deep in my ribs.Brad had been an amazing friend. In my eyes he was this perfect person but in the end we all had our own problems. And I hadn’t even seen it

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 119

Rosalie’s POVIt was like a taste of heaven, subconsciously I knew I was a freak taking his blood but I couldn't stop, I drank greedily.Savouring his taste on my lips, my wolf purred within like we had been deprived for so long.My insides became warm and my body tingled, the sensation was so good a tear slipped down my eyelids. Then suddenly—Strong hands yanked me back.“No!” I growled, fighting against the pull, not even recognizing my own voice. But the spell’s haze began to lift. My vision snapped back into focus, the pain that had been searing my insides abruptly vanished. My body slumped against the chair, shuddering with a strange emptiness where the ache had lived seconds ago.I blinked hard.Nathan.He was standing there, one hand pressed to the side of his neck where blood still trickled. His brows drew together, mouth parted in disbelief. He looked from his fingers, smeared red, to me. Then slowly to the Seer. His jaw clenched. “What the hell did you do?” he hissed at her

Rosalia's POV “I’m sure you know who this is Rosalia, the royal seer” he paused, noticing a figure next to her.Her face was hidden behind a cloak, I had my suspicions on who she was but I forced myself to remain unfazed.“You don't have to worry about her Alpha, she's someone I trust to help” the seer quickly clarified as the alpha gaze lingered."Make sure no one else finds out about this," Alpha Kincaid ordered. The Seer bowed deeply, her hands folded in front of her. “Your wish is my command, Alpha.”“I don't have much time, use any means necessary to ensure she gets her powers back.”My stomach twisted. The Seer glanced at me then her gaze unreadable. She stepped forward slowly, eyes narrowing as if she could see right through my skin.“Judging from her aura,” she said carefully, “her powers remain dormant. But I sense something. It's faint. I have something in mind… something drastic but I hope it will work.”Alpha Kincaid nodded. “As long as she's able to heal me I have no pro

Rosalia's POV I leaned against the wall beside me, arms crossed, watching the hospital hallway like it might swallow us whole. His eyes flicked toward me, something unreadable behind them.“I’ve never seen a display like that before,” he said finally, voice low.I pulled my arms tighter around myself, still wired from the chaos. My heart hadn’t slowed since we got here. “It’s absurd,” I muttered. “That I had to go to such lengths just to help someone. She’s a person. Not a title. Not a rank. Just someone who needed help.”He didn’t say anything to that. His silence stretched until I looked up and met his eyes. He studied me again, like he was trying to solve a puzzle he didn’t quite understand. Then he straightened and pushed off the wall.“I have to leave,” he said. “I’ll get a driver to take you back. I know you’re not going anywhere while she’s still in there.”“No,” I said softly. “I’m not.”He nodded, like he expected that. “Alright. I’ll send someone soon.”“Thank you, Damon,”

Rosalia's POV For some reason, I couldn't find Brad. And he wasn't answering his phone either. My anxiety was killing me.But it wasn't enough to devour the fear I felt, after the last incident in the hospital I was scared to go alone.I still needed a blood sample from Nathan which I'm sure Brad could get easily.I let out a breath feeling a bit frustrated. I didn't know why I wanted to rat Daphne out so bad.Maybe because she had toyed with my life for so long I finally got to do the same or Nathan…A knock on the door snapped me out of the thought. I stopped pacing then stalked to the door and opened it.“Lana,” I breathed, surprised. My maid stood there, hands folded in front of her apron, her dark eyes darting briefly behind me before settling on my face.“I came to get you ready,” she said quietly. “The Alpha has returned.”My stomach dropped.“What?” My voice came out flat. She nodded once. “He’s to be released from the hospital.”I felt my throat tighten. I forced myself to s
