Chapter 18: A Business Deal
Veena seated herself beside Lois and he placed his arm around her shoulders. He filled her glass with wine and they clinked their glasses together.
"I'm sure you didn't steal me away from the party just to have a drink with you." she began.
"Can't I see my wife privately?"
She flushed. Why is he being so sweet these days? The breakfast this morning, this dress and now he wanted her alone in a private room.
"The contract for Luxuria is ready and the only thing I'll be needing is your signature. There is no need for the construction of the building everything is already done. The location is closer to my company so I can keep an eye on you if ever your family tries to do something against you."
She took the contract and signed it without reading the details. She trusts Lois that's why she didn't bother to read it. "You don't have to be worried about me I can take care of myself. I have Abby to protect me."
