126. Getting him to agree

Acadia's crib was in a room directly connected to Kiara's room and only separated by a single door. Every minute, Kiara felt the urge to check on her, making sure she was safe.

On top of the crib hung three birds that would make a chirping sound when blown by the wind, and Acadia would giggle jolly not be able to take her eyes off of them while awake. The hanging nightingale was now spun softly by Kiara's fingers.

The baby was fast asleep now, her soft breathing steady and her tiny lips slightly parted. Kiara spent more time admiring her daughter before reluctantly getting up.

It was late, and she should be sleeping, but instead of going to her bed, she headed to the kitchen downstairs. She grabbed a cup, took a spoonful of black tea and honey, and then filled the cup with hot water. After making the tea to Dave's liking, she took it upstairs to his study.
