30. I'm Very Satisfied

This morning, Beverley was cooking in the kitchen with Aunt Daisy when suddenly someone rang the doorbell. “Who is it?” She asked curiously.

Edward, who happened to have just come down from upstairs, went to open the front door. His expression turned stiff when he saw who was coming.

“Where’s Brent?” the guest asked.

The old man answered quietly, “Mr. Oliver hasn’t come down yet, Miss Hale.”

Natalie smiled. “Very well. I’ll meet him upstairs then,” she said as she stepped inside. She didn’t need Edward’s approval, as she was used to going in and out of the house whenever she wanted.

The butler sighed as he watched Natalie walk up the stairs. Once she was out of sight, he galloped to the kitchen.

“That woman came again,” he said to Aunt Daisy and Beverley.

“Who do you mean, Edward?” Beverley immediately asked.

“Who else if not Miss Hale?”
