Adrian’s POV

She looked at me with patience in her eyes, her gaze steady, almost urging me to speak. I could see she wanted to hear what I had to tell her so badly it almost hurt to hold it in. But how could I possibly tell her that her brother, the man she considered family, someone she trusted implicitly, was behind all of this?

I’ve always been a man with clear intentions. I wasn’t with Eunice because of her wealth, even if she was richer, more influential. After all, she was the Eunice Morgan, the richest woman whose name was on everyone’s lips. Anyone hearing what I was about to reveal, without understanding my side of the story, would think I was after her fortune.

They would assume I wanted to erase her brother from the picture and have her sign the Eerrie branch over to me. But that wasn’t the case. I could only hope that when I spoke these difficult words, she would see the sincerity in my heart and not think otherwise.

Eunice’s POVI could hear his heartbeat, steady, warm, alive, beating for love, beating for desire.I didn’t know what came over me. Perhaps it was that same heartbeat that seemed to echo inside my own chest, syncing with mine as if the two were made for one rhythm.I felt like I was losing control over my own consciousness, yet not in the sense of blacking out or being unaware. No, I could see everything, vividly. This was not the loss of awareness that people speak of. This was the surrender of choice, the decision to remain pressed against his chest a little longer, to let myself breathe in the scent of him. When I finally lifted my head, my eyes wandered to his lips, such tender lips. My gaze moved to his face, a perfect balance of softness and strength, and then to his bold, well-built body, crafted like a sculpture meant to be admired.I wasn’t entirely sure what I was doing in that moment, but I knew with equal certainty that he didn’t fully understand what he was doing either.

Eunice’s POVI lowered the phone from my ear slowly, the weight of the conversation still settling in my mind. I had just spoken with Mr. Blame, Sonya’s husband, to inform him about what had happened to his wife. For some strange reason I couldn’t quite explain, he didn’t sound shocked at all. His voice carried no tremor, no grief, just a distant coldness. In fact, he didn’t even show the slightest interest in her body. But perhaps because the call came from me, “I will come check her body and see for myself.” The words were spoken reluctantly, as if he were forcing himself to act out of obligation rather than care. I ended the call with a quiet exhale, still trying to understand his reaction.Yes, Sonya had tried to get into my system, tried to hack the location of the gold, bronze, and jade. But thanks to Adrian, I now knew she hadn’t been working alone. In fact, there was no way she could have. She had been pushed into this, and the one who pushed her was no stranger, it was my own

Adrian’s POVIf Sonya, who was in police custody, could still be murdered while under their watch, it meant only one thing: the person who had sent her had already made their move. And it wasn’t just a move. It was a dangerous one.But could he really do it? Could he actually want to murder his own sister? The thought burned in my mind, yet I couldn’t dismiss it.Without wasting another second, I walked briskly to the reception, making sure my pace was quick but not suspicious. My mind was alert, my steps calculated, because we never could tell what could happen in the space of a few minutes away from her. One wrong moment and the situation could spiral out of control. One thing I knew for certain—though I had no military training or background—was that if anyone ever wanted to hurt Eunice, they would have to go through me first. And I wasn’t the type to step aside.Deep down, I already had a strong suspicion of who might have done this to Sonya. If it was indeed her brother who had s

Adrian’s POVWithout much delay, I instantly connected the dots. The break-in by this woman named Sonya Blame at my babe’s office had Gabriel Stabley written all over it. The thought hit me like a dart to the chest. This wasn’t some random act. This was calculated.I didn’t waste another second. I picked up my phone and dialed Eunice’s number.“The number you are trying to call is not reachable, please try again later,” the robotic voice announced coldly on the other end.My stomach tightened. That mechanical voice told me more than any words could — Eunice was still in a compromised state. Whatever Sonya had done to her inside that office was still lingering. I couldn’t afford to sit back and wait.I called CEO Anderson immediately.“Hello, CEO, may I be briefed about the situation at hand?” I asked, keeping my tone polite but firm.“She is currently in the hospital,” he replied, his voice low but steady. “The sedation has been flushed from her blood. But right now, she’s too weak an

Gabriel’s POVFor a minute, there was silence so loud it felt like it could slice through the air and cut the ear off.Every beat of my own heart seemed amplified in that stillness, echoing in my chest. Then, out of nowhere, he burst into laughter, a deep, sudden explosion of sound that shattered the tension like glass.“I love that. You are a damn criminal to have been able to find us,” he said, his voice warm but edged with something sharper. He smiled as he curled his hand around my neck in a way that looked almost friendly to anyone watching, though we both knew we weren’t friends. Not even close.“Tell me, brother man, what do you want us to do for you?” he asked, speaking like we had known each other for years, as though the gap between strangers and allies could be crossed with one question.“You are not angry I found you on my own?” I asked. My voice stayed steady, but my hands betrayed me with a faint tremor, the kind you hope no one notices.“No!” His answer was direct, fi
