Jules groaned as he came awake. Gradually, he opened his weary eyes and winced as the light from the sun flashed into them. He shut his eyes and tried again. This time, slower than the first. “You've been moping all day, Madame. May I know what is bothering you?” Jules inquired, standing by the doorpost. He stared at Janice, and he noticed her hesitation. She bit her lips before letting a smile brighten up her face. He could tell the smile wasn't from within, and she only did it to dodge his question. The ride to his flat in London was taking forever. Jules groans, kneading the flesh at the back of his neck. He couldn't remember the last time he had been jet-lagged because he often had enough of rest before and during travelling. However, what was going on between him and Janice had made him stay up late. Also, it made him regret ever questioning her. She had not to bother walking him to the door like she usually does whenever he was going on a business trip. It seemed as if she was glad and couldn't wait to get rid of him. “We are here, sir.” The chauffeur mumbled, breaking Jules out of his thoughts. The man, Jonathan, who looked like he was in his late fifties, was the one that had always been his chauffeur ever since he arrived in London. He had stuck with him ever since. “8 PM,” Jules murmured, glancing at the wristwatch he wore before dusting the red plastic chair. Light flickered on his face as soon as he was about to sit down. At first, he thought it was from the power supply until he glimpsed the paparazzi some meters away from him. “What the hell?!” Jules's eyes glinted. Walking along the brightly coloured trimmed garden, Janice let out a deep breath. She inhaled slowly, and a smile appeared on her face. Her hair ruffled around her face as the wind blew it.The garden, which was beside the castle, was her favourite place to go whenever she felt like relaxing. Janice had often wondered why the garden was separated from the castle. The walk from the garden to the castle was fifteen minutes, and she had come by foot because she didn't want Jules to know where she had gone. She had asked him why the distance was so, but she had got no response. Rather, he had said they built that way. Even though his answer irritated her, she enjoyed the architectural design of the entire castle. “My Lady?” Janice jumped as she heard a voice beside her. She swirled, and her eyes met with the Earl of Brightstone, who had an amused smile playing on his lips. “W-what are you doing here?” Janice stuttered, squinting. “I should ask you the same thing.” Paxton grinned.

“How can I be so careless?!” Janice mumbled, whilst pacing around the room. Since her arrival back at the castle, she had been thinking of what Jules would do to her when he reached home. She had seen how furious he looked, and she wondered what punishment he was going to mete out on her. Janice shivered, clutched the robe she had slipped into around her body whilst glancing at the still-closed door. She hadn't thought Jules would ever arrive at the place she went to because he had left earlier to go hunting, and she hadn't mentioned it to him. Perhaps he arrived and didn't meet her at home. So, he had asked Grace, the only person she had told where she was going. Janice's heart fluttered as she sighted Jules from the window. He climbed from his horse and walked towards the entrance.
