“I said that I’d answer for what I did, but I was going to give this cure first. If it were your people you’d do it too.” She said and she’d meant that on both parts. She felt she could guess his character pretty well. He seemed rather loyal, clearly had respect of those he was in charge of from what she saw. His hand was still on the box, holding it in place. She thought about just pulling it away from him but was afraid she’d break a vile or something.
“If I don’t let you take this to them?” He asked with no real tone. “You took things from the stores you were allowed to use. We said you could make what you needed, but then you abused that privilege. Took from us.” He stated and she paled a bit. She was feeling sick all of a sudden. It was from nerves. Sybil was not the confrontation type. Didn’t mean she wouldn’t hold her ground. What if he didn’t let her take this, was that why he came himself and had
“We need to hurry, I’m worried we are too late.” She confessed and moved quickly toward the doors. Aries followed her but was glancing about the vehicles and narrowed his gaze. Something was moving in the shadows. He could sense it, and a couple times thought he saw the shadows deepen and move. Aries’s eyes had a sheen to them for a moment as he looked with his animal eyes. He felt a curl to his lip. Sybil was indeed in danger here. Her skill had been noticed by the enemy. He glanced at her as they hurried up to the building. Her pace was quick, he just had to lengthen his strides to keep up with her. Whatever was watching them had not made a move yet. Never good to rush an unknown enemy so he didn’t. Staying close to Sybil was smarter. “This way.” She said as they went in. He was still looking outside, he didn’t like this. His gut clenched and he felt malevolence and it made the hair rise on the ba
Sybil was telling her father what had happened. Where she had been when she got a cold chill down her spine. Her father also paused in speaking and looked about the room. The shadows in it seemed to deepen, like you couldn’t see into the corner and your breath showed suddenly. “Do you see this?” He asked and she nodded standing straight from where she’d been sitting and looked at the corner of the room. Something was there, something was moving. Like it was coming out of the wall or darkness itself. “I thought I was dreaming this before.” He commented and she reached below the shirt she was wearing and pulled out an ornate cross. She had faith in the higher power and she knew belief and real faith was a powerful thing. The belief in goodness and not letting that darkness in was sometimes as powerful if not more so than a glass full of holy water and she
Sybil sat reading through the tome that was really thick and she was making notes. Going through the stores here because that was asked of her. Over the week that she had been here she finally got a handle on where she needed to start. Aries hadn’t told her exactly what he’d like her to help with most while she was here yet. Just help them and she could start by going through what they had. Sounded like he wanted her to get familiar with this room.He wasn’t going to bother her with his main need until she was rested and able. He was very adamant that she be healthy and whole. Sybil kind of liked the chivalry that he was showing. Though she would like to just start now, she didn’t do well with idle hands. Hence why she was down here trying to figure out these stores. If this was where she was to stay for the time being. Especially working with Aries and his people for her tres
“Thank you.” Sybil told Aries as she took the glass that looked like a stout brandy glass. No stem and was a swirling translucent red. Her hand grazed Aries as she took the glass and he felt a slight tingle there. He had no idea what she was doing, but clearly she was doing something major. Who and what was this woman he’d found out in the woods? She might be his mate, but she was clearly a powerful creature. It was a draw he found. His mate was a strong capable woman. Clearly she would also make a very strong leader, and that was a relief to him.“Kal put this over your mouth and nose, breathe normal okay?” He gave a nod and looked at the glass. With a breath clearly steadying himself unsure of what she was doing he did as she asked. Sybil took a silk baggie and took out some yellow powder in her hand. She licked it and then bent so she was level with Kal’s navel
“I’d like you to explain what you just did. What you think this is and how you knew what to do.” Sybil bit her lip slightly and leaned against the counter there thinking for a moment. Then started to explain what she did, what she used.“It was really the energy that made me think of what to do. What was wrapping around the child wasn’t physically doing anything. It was feeding off the energy, draining the unborn of its very life. The parasite like thing that came out is just a tool for what is really feeding. There’s malice there, a hate toward your kind I could feel and a joy at what it was doing. What it was stopping.” Sybil felt a little sick at the idea of being happy at killing something so innocent.“Are you sure you know what this is?” She nodded. Clearly the demonic had a serious issue going o
“So it will just turn colors?” Daral asked looking at the goop that Aries had. He’d divided it up amongst the groups and they were slowly going through the lower area here.“Apparently.” He told him, and Daral was looking around slowly. They all were, they knew that this was probably going to be a surprise. Just jump right out at them, but that was why he put the groups together that he had. He knew who worked the best with who. He and Daral had fought together many times and were close. He’d also decided on Kal and Mecir with them this time because he was comfortable with them as well and wanted to make sure that Kal didn’t lose focus with how personal it now was. Especially since he got to see what was inside of them.“It’s disturbing knowing that something is in us and we didn’t even rea
Fire raced out in all directions consuming the floor below and then upward. There was a scream from a good number of spider demons as they were lit ablaze. The rest had no choice but to come up to escape the flames. Aries shouted for more to be lit and thrown down. No hesitation, they were lit and thrown. However several nasty looking spiders as big as a man came crawling out. That was when the fighting started in earnest up here. There were snarls, hissing and clicks as Aries people and these demons fought. However the most dangerous demon was still not up. Only a handful of minutes, but now the entire area down below was a blaze and the heat coming out of that hole was intense. They had to back up, however that also meant the spider demons could not go down. A large number of them were burning and the smell was atrocious. Something huge shot out of the hole and had gripped the ceiling above them.
Sybil was directing the few that came to help her. Two of which had skill in witchcraft and potion making. This Aubury also knew quite a bit. Sybil normally just worked on her own but having help was really nice. She managed to make those molotov-cocktails and send them. Which was going to help a lot. The others were very eager to take her direction and she was told that others were setting up an area where any wounded could be treated if needed. She heard that the fighting had started. Sybil felt in her element here telling the others what to do and use. She was moving about the room grabbing jars or herbs. Sybil twisted around the shelves or those helping adding things to their mixtures and testing them. Several giving her a look, even a smile as it seemed like she was dancing about the room. You could feel her energy and they all responded to it. It seemed that her movements were purposeful and a
