Following Gabe

Gabe could hear the footsteps behind him, because of his heightened sense of hearing, but whenever he turned to see who it was, he wasn’t seeing anything. He couldn’t smell the scent of whoever it was that properly because it was dead in the night, or as it was the early hours of the morning when dew would start to cover the plant. Thankfully, he wasn’t someone anyone could hunt, whether human or animal, they weren’t a match for him. Besides, if someone was here, they would be trespassing as he owned this wood as well.

Soon, the sound faded away, and he couldn’t hear anything but complete silence like it should. That was good. It was an animal and it had veered from the path it was on.
