Gabe had been spending some time working at home because he wanted to be closer to Alex ever since the accident in the woods. They had both concealed the real occurrence of what had happened that night, instead saying that she had walked out to the garden that night to take a breath of fresh air when she slipped and fell, and he happened to be awake and heard her. Admitting that Alex had followed him would make Dee and Ms. Alice realize that Alex was a curious person, and if there was one thing a werewolf doesn’t like, it was people especially humans sniffing around. Detective Holmes loved working for Alpha Gabe, and he had always been a freelance detective, which made him able to keep working for him as confidential as possible. This wasn’t the first case he had worked on for him, but this seemed like the biggest of them all, and he had concluded that because of the things he was starting to discover. It’s been about three hours since he was bent over the table looking for something distinctive, something that would call his attention, but there was nothing so far. It might be true that he was taking his time to get things in place but this was still slower than he expected.
