It had been a rough week in Hollow hills, three students of Hollow high had been murdered gruesomely and found in the woods where they had been loitering. A memorial was held at Hollow high school and Mayor Tremont promised to get fish out the monstrous serial killer responsible for their deaths.

The following week, Sharlynn was on her way to school but she got emotional as she remembered how two years ago before she came to Hollow hills, this same deep sadness swept through her old school when Aliyah was murdered by what they labeled a diabolical serial killer but no matter how hard she tried to tell the police that it was a vampire who killed her friend nobody believed her, instead they called her crazy. Those were days that even she thought herself crazy.

She sighed as the bus stopped in front of her school and as everyone got up almost at once to leave the bus, she almost tripped and could've fallen face-first on the floor if the strong firm hands she felt on her waist didn't keep her from falling.

" Be careful" a deep, masculine voice said and everyone turned to look at the tall, muscular, guy standing in front of the door of the bus.

He let go off her waist and she came down from the bus carefully and looked at the guy who save her from embarrassment. His jet black hair which fell in dangerously sexy curls on his forehead, bounced with every stride as he walked and shook hands with another guy as they talked. The leather jacket and gloves he put on seemed like it was designed to fit only him.

Sharlynn thought she ought to thank him so she walked up to him but it seemed as though he sensed her coming, he suddenly stopped talking and looked at her or rather looked down at her because of his height.

" Hey umm, thanks for helping me back there. You saved me from embarrassment." She said with a smile but he said nothing, he just kept looking at her in a way that highly intimidated her and he almost looked angry even as he clenched his jaw and glared at her.

It was at that moment she noticed it - his eyes! When he glared at her she saw his golden eyes and she was provoked by how perfect he looked as his mere presence made every other guy look almost ugly in comparison - yet despite his perfect features, his attitude was vile and awful. He probably thought she was into him.

" You know what? Forget it...you don't care about my appreciation so... whatever" she said and walked away from him.

She wasn't sure if it was his perfect looks that annoyed her or the fact that he knew just how devastatingly handsome he was and was extremely proud and snobbish because of it. All she knew was that she hates proud people and whoever he was, she already hated him.

As she walked to class, careful this time not to trip over anything, she took in the dull look of the school. The brown brick building looked even grimmer as all the decorations were removed from the place. The flowers were the only thing that made the school less depressing, Sharlynn made up her mind to ask Dean and Ricky-Shawn about it. From how unsurprised they looked the other day, they definitely knew something about the death of those students.

Sharlynn was ready for yet another typical day at school but as she opened the hallway doors, she gasped as she saw Ricky-Shawn punching Darren. The boys from the football team kept cheering Ricky-Shawn as Darren's perfect face was all bloodied up by his punches but he still wouldn't stop. Sharlynn didn't care what did Darren did to make Ricky-Shawn beat him up so bad because she knew that he gets mad at the slightest thing.

" Ricky-Shawn!" Sharlynn called out and instantly Ricky-Shawn got up from Darren's body, he glared at her and without a word, strolled to the men's room. "Oh my gosh, Darren!" Meredith yelled, throwing her notes on the floor as she ran towards her brother.

" I'm sorry" was all Sharlynn could say to Meredith as two guys who were Meredith's friends came and carried Darren to the nurse. When Sharlynn saw that he was still breathing, she thanked her stars that Darren didn't die but she was so disappointed. " how did she even fall for a guy like Ricky-Shawn? He's always so angry and rash all the time!" She said to herself as she started to head for the men's room.

" Really Carter? Just a week and you're already making them fight over you?" Kenny, the captain of the school's basketball team said with a smirk and his clique snickered before they walked past her.

" What in God's name happened here?" Miss Jenna Ross, the biology teacher asked as she saw the blood-stained floor.

" Oh, the usual, the new-old kid pissed off Ricky-Shawn. He was eyeing Sharlynn over here - which is a totally normal thing to do by the way "  Pete said and chuckled when he saw Sharlynn's sour expression. He enjoys annoying Sharlynn even when he was well aware that Ricky-Shawn would kick his ass for it.

" Well, where are Ricky-Shawn and the person he beat up then?" Miss Jenna asked, flipping her overtly long red hair away from her eyes so she could look at Pete. " I don't know ma'am, I do know that you're looking smoking hot -"

" - finish that sentence and you'll have detention for the rest of the semester," she said harshly and  Pete and his pack of idiotic friends laughed before they left for class.

" Sharlynn, get your boyfriend under control will you?" She said patting sharlynn on the shoulder before she walked away, probably in search of Ricky-Shawn.

Sharlynn waited for her to get far enough before she charged to the men's room and barged in. She found him resting his arms on the sink with his face bowed down.

" What the hell was that Ricky?" She asked but he just looked at her, his face seething with rage before he walked toward her and said, " why don't you run off to your new boyfriend Darren?"

" New boyfriend? Are you kidding me? I've barely even spoken to him!"

" I see the way he looks at you Sharlynn! And the way YOU look at him"

" That's absurd!" Sharlynn hissed.

" Really? Okay. Look me in the eye and tell me that when you see that guy your whole body doesn't ignite." He asked as he looked at her, his eyes expecting an answer.

Sharlynn was thrown by his statement, of course, it would be a lie if she said it doesn't happen but she couldn't just tell him that she's attracted to Darren because it wasn't sensible that the minute she saw Darren she couldn't stop thinking about him.

She looked at Ricky-Shawn and when she saw the rage in his eyes, she knew she would have to lie, " Nothing of that sort happens Ricky, you're being paranoid" she finally said, looking him in the eye but he scoffed and said, " you're an awful liar"  before he walked out of the rest room.

The rest of the day, Sharlynn was uncomfortable and saddened by the fact that Darren had not yet recovered from the fight. She was so restless that she faked a cramp just so she would be allowed to go to the sick bay where she would probably find Darren. As she entered the bay, there were so many doors to unlock but she found the room where he was soon enough and knocked twice. She braced herself for the unfortunate state his face would be in.

" What the -" She asked no one in particular as she saw his face healing rapidly to the perfectly flawless state when she had seen him the week before.

But that was impossible, he's not supposed to have healed so fast! Sharlynn thought she should call the nurse, she dropped the gift she brought Darren and headed for the door.

" Just where do you think you're going?" Meredith said as Sharlynn turned around.

Meredith knocked her unconscious with a spell and Sharlynn lay almost lifeless on the floor.
