When I come to, the first thing I hear is Eric's voice. Sounding irritable, he says, "Bring that over here. That way when she wakes up, she can be comfortable."
Opening my eyes, I glance up at Toby and William carrying a new four post bed made of mahogany wood, over to where the old one was. It even has a canopy, unlike the old one. Eric's voice thunders over the sound of everything else going on, "Not there, over there." He points in the other corner.
The minute Eric notices that I'm awake, he rushes over and asks, "Do you know what happened? I came back from the initiations and found you along the path to the house, unconscious. You slept through all the rest of the day and this morning. I even had doc come over and look at you."
Sitting up, I feel dizzy but nonetheless stay upright. Staring at him, I aswer, "No, I have no idea. I was walking along the path, when I sat down for a few mi
Horrified, I can't do anything but scream internally. Not wanting to be seen though, I stand still and when Eric recovers, he turns around. Our eyes meet and he growls. Annabelle trying to figure out what is going on, straightens and smiles as she sees what he is growling about.Once again the satisfaction on her face makes me feel sick and I now know that I have absolutely no more control. I take off down the trail, back to the pack house and run up to the bedroom. Crying, I don't know what I can do now. Before laying down, I lock the door and then throw myself on the bed. I must cry for hours, because the next time I hear someone it is dark outside. Picking my head up, I ask, "Who is it?""It's me." Eric says coldly. "Unlock the damn door."When I don't unlock it, he asks, "Why are you acting this way? You had to know that at some point I would find someone that I wanted
"Get off of her." Eric yells at the top of his lungs before throwing me clear across the room. Feeling pain shoot all throughout me, I watch as Eric hunches over Annabelle's lifeless body. His feet step in the blood pooling on the floor as he doesn't pay attention one bit to anything else around him. Watching as he sheds tears for her and throws his head back to howl, my wolf still fights to gain control again. Sitting in the corner, I am barely able to hold on. "Janessa, stares at the scene with a sick look on her face and then she walks into the kitchen. I on the other hand, find the strength to stand up and walk towards Eric. I touch his shoulder and try to comfort him, but he turns his head quickly and snaps at me, "Don't touch me. You will pay for this." Getting up, he grabs ahold of my arm and drags me out of the house. Alerting the security squad, he has me taken away to be dealt with later. They wa
"Pop" "Bang" "Crackle" Gazing at the beautiful sight in the open night sky, we all watch as the fireworks display sparkles against the stars. Eric picks me up and kisses me before everyone else sees and then when he places me back on my feet, he grabs my hand and leads me away. "I have something to tell you." He states with mischief in his eyes. Knowing better then to guess, I say, "What?" "Ryder is coming tomorrow." Wondering why he is making such a big deal about him coming, I ask, "Why are you so excited about it?" "Because, he has something for you. He told me about a week ago, that he saw something that reminded him of you on his travels and he wants to give it to you." "Oh." I look down and frown, because Ryder thinking about me isn't necessarily a good thing. "What's the matter my baby?" He takes my chin between his thumb and forefinger and pushes my head up to look me in t
"Is she O.K.?" I hear a concerned male voice say before I open my eyes. Taking a minute because of this steady heavy pounding in my head, I slowly open my eyes and wish that I hadn't. The pounding suddenly gets twenty times worse and I feel like the very first time I turned into my wolf form, except for there isn't any good side to this. When I try to open my eyes again, I open them only a little so I see a slight bit of light. It seems to help my agonizing headache to an extent. Realizing that it was the doctor's voice, I gradually open them more till I can see where I am and who is next to me. I turn to my left side where Eric is standing and look down to see that Ryder is nowhere to be found. So I ask, "Did you kill him?" He lowers his head, so he can whisper in my ear, "No, but I should have killed both of you. I know something happened between the two of you while he was protecting you. When you
"Look out!" I shriek, before the rogue closes in on us."Stop right now." Eric commands the rogue right in front of him and slices clear through his shoulder.Hearing bones breaking, I instantly know that he has just ended the rogue's life directly in front of him and is now working on another one. When I see the blood spraying all over the snow, I know that he is soon to be dead too. I on the other hand am in combat with a rogue twice my size and no matter what I do I can't hit him.Slashing him in the leg, I am a bit surprised that he doesn't even flinch when the blood starts to spurt from it. It's almost as if he feels no pain. Watching him, I wait for my next move to connect. Finally, I shred his abdomen and a shocked look registers the pain on his face. However, the next thing I know I am on the ground with blood in my mouth. When I see him, it's too late and he bites
I wake up in the doc's room with Eric holding my hand. Still not awake, I can tell that he is already going to wake up with a sore neck and wish that he had slept in the other bed last night. Carefully removing my hand from his, I try to get out of bed and discover that I am still in pain. My side feels like it has a couple stitches in it and when I pull up my shirt, I see why. On my side, there are stitches where a big gash about 3 inches long lay that had been ripped open. The incision looks really red and it begins to concern me before the doctor walks in. "Oh, yes. You are awake Raven. I am so glad you are, because I have to tell you something before Alpha Eric here wakes up." He says softly and extends a hand to help me out of bed. "Come with me, if you would." Watching him carefully, I wait for him to continue, curious of what he needs to tell me out of ear shot of Eric. Sitting down on the couch out
“No!” The very first thing Eric does before he leaves the doctor’s office, is to cry out. We have been through so much and now that he was promised his heirs, I can tell it is crushing him to know that there is a problem with them. If he only knew the real issue, he wouldn’t be so heart broken. Instead, he would probably rip my head off. He talks to the doctor further before we walk back to the pack house and then to our bedroom, because the doctor told us that we will have to find her before it is too late. In another month if we don’t do something, he probably will have to terminate. Knowing Eric, that is not even an option and then he will find out the truth and my pups will be dead anyways. Eric will never let Ryder’s pups come to pass, because that means he would let an heir from another alpha possibly take over after him. Impossible, he will say and that is what I am afraid of. Losing them now would ruin me, but
“Not now, what are you doing?” I hear Eric screaming at someone in the next room before I open my eyes. Slowly opening them, they hurt from crying all night and feel puffy. I run my fingers over my lids, and they feel oversized. “Great! Not only do I have to worry about being beheaded but dying while looking like I am having an allergic reaction.” I murmur under my breath and pray that Eric doesn’t hear me. I hear a door slam before I get off the bed and then Eric slams our bedroom door open with so much gusto that it almost knocks the door off its hinges. Looking up at him, I ask cautiously, “Is there something wrong?” I decide to pretend that I am innocent and have no idea why he is upset. He furrows his brow before looking straight at me and demanding, “Get out of bed, you know full well why I am mad.” Curious, I continue the conversation. I figure if I am to die today, I might as well get a rile out
