Lily's pov.

"Don't you think your step-sister is weird?" My best friend, Alicia, nudged me and I turned to furrow my brows at her.

"How?" I asked and Alicia folded her arms across her chest.

"She is always jumping around your husband. You should do something about that." Alicia pointed out and I took in a deep breath.

It's not that I hadn't noticed it too, I had discussed it with Darius, my husband and he told me to just ignore her, assuring me he had no interest in my step-sister anymore and just wanted me.

'So what else do I need to start up a drama for?' I pondered and just shrugged. Besides, if he was cheating or something, I would be feeling the pain by now.

"It's fine. As long as Lila knows her boundaries and doesn't try to cross it, it's okay, she can jump around for all I care." I told Alicia who frowned.

"I don't think that's it." Alicia insisted and I let out a sigh.

"Then what?" 

"Why isn't Darius doing anything about it, himself?" Alicia questioned and I furrowed my brows at her.

"Because he doesn't care?" 

"I doubt that. It's dee..." Alicia tried saying when I let out a growl, my expression tightening.

"Don't you dare finish that statement, Alicia. I wouldn't take any suspicious sayings against my mate." I warned my best friend who shivered due to the tone I had used on her.

She nodded meekly, bowed and then exited the field where we were currently patrolling together and I felt guilt pinging my heart, for speaking to her in such a manner.

I just get so tense and protective whenever Darius is mentioned. I loved him too much and didn't even want to imagine him cheating on me..

I wasn't supposed to be here as the Luna of this pack. But then, I was bored and decided to accompany Alicia since Darius had some important pack meetings to attend to, which he should be back from by now.

It's been three years since my parents died and I took over this mighty pack after getting married to Darius, my mate and Lila's ex-boyfriend.

Apparently she cheated on him the night we discovered we were mates and now seems to regret her decision because I stepped down from the position, Alpha and allowed him to take over while I ruled by his side as Luna.

Ever since then, things have been quite peaceful except for Lila and her mum who always tried to create ruckus with every opportunity they get.

Lila's mum was my mum's personal maid who had drugged my father to have sex with her then she got pregnant and demanded my father take responsibility.

She thought she could be Luna by betraying my mother and giving my father an heir since my mother hasn't conceived yet but luckily, my mother also got pregnant around that time.

Since we were born, Lila had tried to do everything to compete with me but always ended up failing because I came from a special bloodline of wolves who trained women to be dominant and not submissive, except to their mates.

I was about to go back to the pack house when my phone rang in my pocket. I brought it out to see it was an SMS from my step-mother.

"I hate to disturb you Luna, but Lila seems to be in trouble at Mavis' hotel. Can you help?" I read out loud and bit my lower lips hard.

'What were these people up to again? Was there a period Lila doesn't get into trouble?' I pondered as I began typing on my phone but then changed my mind, and decided to call her instead.

"Hello." She said, picking on the first ring which means it was something important.

"Sorry, I can't spare time." I lied and there was silence on the phone for awhile, which was weird.

"Alright then, no problem, I also informed Alpha Darius who had his meeting around that location, he sh..." My step-mother, Jessica was still saying when I cut in.

"You sent my husband after his ex?" I felt anger burning through my veins.

"You mean his sister-in-law? You should really move on from the past, Lily." My step-mother chuckled and I dug my nails into my palm.

"Anyways, he should be there soon. I wonder what the pack will have to say when they find out that their Luna is more concerned about their Alpha cheating on her rather than her sister who could be in danger." Jessica said and ended the call on me.

I wasn't thinking properly and didn't even get changed but rather grabbed one of the car keys from one of the guards on standby and drove towards Mavis' hotel.

It wasn't that I didn't trust my husband with Lila but then the press was always on my family 24/7, looking for a way to start some sort of scandal and I wasn't going to let Darius make an headline for something he didn't do.

Besides, what could Lila be doing in Mavis' hotel of all places? 

That hotel was known for it's crimes and the funny thing was, nobody was ready to nail them down and find out what the hell was going on.

I dashed into the hotel and the guards recognizing me, paved the way for me to enter immediately.

"Which room is Lila Nightshade?" I asked the receptionist who immediately told me the room number.

I thanked her and dashed through the stairs since the elevator was occupied. Luckily, it was on the third floor. Room 35.

I was about to knock on the door when I heard a very loud moan followed by a hefty groan, indicating some erotic business was going on in the room.

I froze.

'Wasn't Darius here yet? Or was this the wrong room?' I pondered as I looked at the key card the receptionist handed over to me just in case I couldn't open the door.

It was room number 35. The right one but didn't Jessica say her daughter was in danger?

It seemed to me that her daughter was enjoying a night of bliss instead or was she being raped?

Another moan ripped through the passage and it was one of pleasure so what was the need of this false alarm? 

I can't believe Jessica tried threatening me with this bullshit.

'She was so going to pay for this.' I thought, letting out a sigh of relief that Darius wasn't around yet.

I was about to turn around and leave but decided to get proof of Lila screwing around to send to her troublesome mother. That should keep them in place, for some months.

I noticed the door was locked and used the key card to enter but regretted it as soon as I saw whom the blonde laying on Lila was.

"D-dairus?" I called out in disbelief, blinking repeatedly to be sure that I wasn't dreaming.

Does my husband now have a twin I don't know of?

Seeing the look of panic flash across his green orbs confirmed my fears and made my heart tighten in pain.

I gritted my teeth against one another as I watched Lila trembling as she used the duvet to cover her nakedness while Darius scratched the back of his hair nervously.

I noticed a bracelet on his waist and inched closer. I widened my eyes when I realized it was the charm bracelet that allowed one to cheat without alerting their mate or causing them pain.

"So you were lying to me all these while?" I roared, as I moved towards them on the bed. Rage was an understatement for the numerous emotions that were bursting through me at the moment.

"I c-ca-can ex-explan." Darius tried saying but I raised my hand up, wrinkling my nose at them in disgust as I bit my lips hard, trying not to break down them in front of them.

Tears stung my eyes but I blinked them back forcefully. I wasn't going to cry now. These fools weren't worth it.

To think Alicia tried to warn me. How could I have been so stupid?

"Save whatever excuses you have, for the council members." I told Darius who sprang up from the bed immediately, looking like someone who had been shot with a bullet.

"W-what?" Lila's voice cracked as all colors drained out of her face.

Satisfaction drafted through me as I watched how terrified they looked. I brought out my phone and took pictures of them.

"Adios." I waved with a wink and turned around to leave when I felt someone drag my hair from behind.

I elbowed the person and turned around to see it was Darius. I clenched my hands into fists and punched him hard in the face, so hard that I could hear his nose cracking.

He let out a scream and collapsed to the floor. I smiled, distracted and had no idea when Lily leapt on me from behind, biting me on my ear.

I winced in pain, refusing to scream and trying to pry her off me but all to no avail.

'When did she get this strong?' I pondered as beads of sweat gathered on my fo

rehead. 

I tried reaching out to my wolf for help when Lila jumped down from me and smashed my head against the wall, hard.
