Reborn

Lily's pov.

I collapsed on the floor, my head pounding as blood gushed out of it, soiling the white rug.

"Oh, moongoddess! What have you done?" Darius half-yelled, and as my eyes struggled to close, I saw Lila covering his mouth with her hands.

"Shush! It was either this or we are doomed." Lila whispered, and I dug my nails into the rug, trying to get up, but the pain that shot through me was beyond what words could explain.

"W-what do we do with the b-body?" Darius stuttered, surprising me. I had hope he would help, but he just left me lying there.

"Burn it, of course, or do you want to get charged as an accessory to murder?" Lila asked and I could feel my heart skipping a beat in fear.

'Burn what? Oh no!'.

"Then let's do it fast. I can still hear her slight breathing. Finish the job." My husband's words to my step-sister sliced through me like a blade. 

Hot tears stung my eyes but I was too weak to blink them back. I let them roll as Lila came towards me, grabbed my head, and smashed it harder to the floor.

I blacked out, feeling myself sink into exile, into nothing as my heart burned with pain.

How could he? How could they do this to me?

'I couldn't just die like this, I needed revenge, I needed to see them at their lowest, begging for mercy, If possible, I wish for another chance to relive my life and make them pay.' I thought as vengeance burned through my heart.

I couldn't feel my body anymore but I refused to accept death.

"Your wish shall be granted." A non-familiar voice whispered into my ear, followed by an heavy wind blowing rapidly.

I felt my soul being moved back into my body so I let out a gasp and struggled to open my eyes but felt nothing still.

"Miss, miss, please wake up." I felt a hand shaking me strongly but gently.

I let out a groan, feeling my head ache as I fought to open my eyes only to be greeted by a bright, shinning light.

I immediately closed my eyes back not able to bear the impact.

"Miss." I heard the familiar shriek again and flicked my eyelids open to see Iris staring down at me, her eyes watering.

I jerked away from her immediately, going pale as I tried not to tremble.

'What the hell was she doing here? Wasn't she dead? I saw her dead body.' I pondered in panic, trying to stop my heart from beating too fast.

A tear dropped and Iris wiped it as she sniffled.

"M-miss, I h-honestly didn't try to kill y-you." She hiccupped and I felt a strong feeling of dija-vu go through me.

I have experienced this scene before. I ignored Iris for awhile and looked around in curiosity, trying to place my fingers on it but then;

"Alpha Lily, are you alright?" A bunch of guards appeared out of nowhere and ran towards me in a straight file. They surrounded me and Iris.

"Grab her." One of them pointed to Iris and all colors drained out of her face as she was lifted off the ground roughly.

"Miss." She cried out, tears streaming down her face. "I am truly innocent."

I laid there stunned and then it hit me.

Have I been reborn? 

Was my wish granted because all of these happened a few years ago when I was still courting Darius.

If I could remember clearly. It was my birthday and I was poisoned. My personal maid, Iris, was in charge of my meals so she was proclaimed to be the culprit and was excuted before I could question her further.

Infact I refused to see her then because she also lured me to a secret spot and tried to kill me, if not for the guards that arrived on time.

But now that I can view it clearly, something was amiss. Iris would never do anything to hurt me.

"Let her go." I said and everyone froze.

"W-what?" The commander-in-cheif of the army stuttered as he dropped to his knees heavily, his head bowed.

"You heard me." I tried to sit up but suddenly felt very dizzy and my whole body seemed to be burning.

It was the effect of the poison. It was so strong even for an Alpha like me and that made me more certain that it couldn't have been Iris who had poison me.

She was an omega so where would she get such poison?

"But... miss Lila...." One of the guards tried speaking when I shot him a cold look immediately, a feeling of suspicion arousing through me.

'Could these guards know something as well? How come they arrived perfectly in time to save me?' I pondered as the hairs at the back of my neck stood up.

Then, they were rewarded greatly and became my personal guards who always followed my biddings but somehow sabotaged everything that had to do with Lila.

"What about her?" I tried not to growl and the guard trembled, dropping to his knees as well.

"S-she was worried when s-she d-didn't s-see you and sent us o-out to c-check." The guard stammered and I found myself smiling, no matter how hard it was.

"What a caring sister I have." I mocked and chuckled.

"But I am your Alpha and you shall obey me. Let my maid go." I roared and they immediately did as told.

They couldn't do otherwise because the Alphas' command left no room for hesitation.

"Good. Now give me the antidote." I stretched forth my hand and didn't miss the look of surprise on their faces as I spoke.

They were shocked that I knew they had it. Well they fed it to me in my previous life. 

"Thank you." I appreciated as I immediately poured all liquid in the little bottle into my mouth without missing a single drop.

I waited for two minutes before my body returned back to normal but even so, I still had to relay on Iris who helped me back to the palace.

"Oh my God! Lily baby, are you okay?" I heard another familiar voice that made me stiffen. I raised my head up to see both mum and Dad, running towards me.

Words couldn't describe the happiness that filled my heart upon hearing seeing them. My lips parted in surprise but then I remembered that I was taken to four years before their death happened.

This time I would make sure it never happened. I met them halfway and threw myself into their arms as tears gushed out my eyes.

"Mum, dad, I have missed you so much." I wailed, basking in their familiar warmth and scent.

Their hold on me tightened as my heart soared with joy. My hands on their waists shook as I couldn't believe I was holding them with my arms again.

"Dad? Lily? Is everything okay?" I frowned as that bitch's voice echoed beside me.

I released my hold on mum and Dad and fought the urge to glare at her. Rather I forced a smile.

"Sis." I clenched my fists, fighting the urge to attack her.

"Oh moongoddess! Are you alright? I heard from the guards that Irish tried to poison you but yet you released her." As anticipated, Lila blurted this out Infront of my parents because she knew how protective they were of me.

While I hesitated, unsure if Irish really did it, my father would have her locked up and killed. Then her ( Lila's) crimes would be hidden since someone else already took the burnt.

"Poison me? That omega is too scared to try such." I immediately refuted her words. 

"Please don't try to accuse her without proofs or are you trying to send the only trusted maid by my side away?" I scoffed and Lila looked like she had been punched in the guts.

I hid a grin watching as father frowned in dissatisfaction at her while my mother glared daggers.

"Gideon, this is all your fault." My mother snapped, grabbing me by the arm gently and leading me away from them.

I didn't miss the look of guilt that flashed in my father's eyes, neither did I miss the scolding he gave Lila.

The bitch. I intentionally said those words to spark my parent's anger. Lila did cause an accident that led to the loss of my trusted maids but then she played it so well and made me look a bit guilty.

'This time, she shall have a taste of her own medicine.' I thought, about to walk inside the hall when;

"Damn! If it isn't Lily Greystone?" I heard a deep chuckle that sent shivers down my spine behind me and my blood turned cold.

'Oh my God!' My mind screamed as my legs w

obbled.

It couldn't be. How is he here right now?

Didn't I have him charged for crimes he didn't commit?

Or was he back for revenge?
