Betrayal

I left the mansion with Marcel, the rogue, and a few guards, heading towards the first hideout of the rogues.

Once we arrived there, we parked our vehicles and rubbed sage on ourselves to mask our scents. We walked into the forest where the hideout was located. The forest housed the abandoned warehouse where the rogues sought refuge. We positioned ourselves in different hiding spots to avoid being detected while staying close enough to eavesdrop on conversations.

"Steve, it's Mark. I'm here," Mark's voice echoed.

He came out from the warehouse, shaking his head, "They're not here. Looks like they abandoned the place."

I signaled to one of the guards to go in and search the warehouse, but they found no one inside. However, one of the guards handed me a gold chain necklace with a half-moon pendant. I looked at the necklace and it felt familiar, but I couldn't recall where I'd seen it before. I pocketed it and said, "Let's go to the second hideout."
