Marcel rushed in at the sound of my voice and he tried getting my hand off Ruby’s neck but I didn’t budge.

“Alpha, please you need to calm down,” he pleaded.

Rage coursed through me as the thought of what could have happened if I had not returned back home flooded my mind. I wanted to squeeze the life out of her the same way she had planned on doing to Linda.

How dare she try to harm my mate? How dare she!

She held onto my arm, fighting, struggling, and kicking around for her life but I didn’t release my grip on her neck, instead, I tightened it and watched as her face began to turn pale due to lack of air.

Marcel left my arm and ran towards Linda's bed. “Alpha, it’s the Luna. Her eyes are opened and she just made a sound,” he said.

My rage subsided and I immediately released my grip from Ruby’s neck. In my anger, I had not seen that she had opened her eyes nor did I hear the sound she made.

I rushed towards her and took her hand in mine. Peering intently at her.
