CH 03

~Legend's POV~

I walked through the corridors as I quietly anticipate her to be there. At least.

"She does not have a wolf." Ryder's voice said in my head and I halt to a stop.

"What did you say?" I asked him.

"I tried trying to connect with her but.. ask what she is." He said and went to rest back. That's how he does. He leaves me to do all the work while he tells me bit by bit, putting me on suspense. I shook my head and walked into my chambers. I opened the lock and went in.

"Mate!" I called out.

"Mate!" She mimicked me and I chuckled low key.

"Tell me why you are being like this towards me?" I asked her.

"Because you must have mistaken me to be your mate. Like let me tell you, I don't have a wolf and besides I am a witch." She said and just like that I jerked back immediately.

Impossible!

What kind of shit is this?

"You are my mate. I can feel it." Was all I could say to assure her.

"I don't know what to say because I have a fiance who I love so much and I am not going to give it up because of some mate bond your maker worked up." She said.

She has a freaking fiance!

"Well, I guess you don't have a choice. You know deeply that you feel the connection. And I am not stopping you from deceiving yourself or even stopping yourself from believing it. But guess what, it is either you call that fiance of yours and break all things up or I can do things more comfortably." I said to her. She looked at me and laughed out.

"You don't even know this guy." She said.

"What is technology for?" I asked as I walked towards her.

"I am going to introduce you to my parents so please act normal," I said and took her by her hands.

"What?! No!" She said as she tried to wriggle out of my grasp but instead I held her tightly. She had just mentioned getting to a man that is not me. She has just mentioned that she was in love with a man that is not me. She had just mentioned that she could give up our mate bond for some stupid love.

As we walked through the corridors, the maids bowed in greetings and that was when she started acting proper.

"Leave me, Legend." She gritted out and I stopped to look at her.

"Say that again" I said and she furrowed her eyebrows. It was sort of cute.

I shook my head. I can't be thinking about that now.

"What?" She snapped.

"Say my name again," I said and she scoffed. I knew she won't by the way.

We walked into the throne room and saw my father talking with some people.

"Oh, Legend. We were informed that a lady has gone missing and she happened to be Alpha Leonard Stones' sister." He said as he approached me. My mate gasped.

"Where is he?" She asked and my father furrowed his eyes on me. No, not me. But my hands that was intertwined with that of my mate.

"I am his sister." She said and I looked at her.

"How is that possible?" I asked but I guess this is not the time.

My father looked at her as if he was studying her. My mother walked up to us with her usual vibrant smile.

"Well, mother. I must say that father's birthday did some good." I said with a grin. She looked at me, not getting what I meant. I chuckled and waved her off.

"Anyways, the moon goddess decided that I meet my mate before ascending the throne. She is my mate." I said and pulled her closer. She tried to struggle against me but I pinched gently at her waist for her to stay still. My mother's lips stretched into a bigger smile. My chest swelled in pride. My father looked at me with faint smile but I know deep down that he has a complaint already about her.

"What's your name, darling?" She asked her. She looked at me and I smirked. At least, my mother is able to get her name.

"I..."

"Oh, Leticia. Where have you been?" A masculine voice said and we turned to look at him. Ryder stood at alert at the way he stretched his hands. She tried to leave my grip but I did not bulge.

"Who is he?" I asked and reared him back as he wanted to hug her. He growled lowly which earned a glare from me that made him bow slightly. Then I felt something hot on my arm.

"Ouch!" My eyebrows scrunched and I winced out in pain. Wait, my mate just bit me.

"He is my brother, dummy." She said and everyone that was around looked in our direction. I glared at them and they turned away instantly.

Oh, he was her brother. I breathed out in relief. I thought it was that stupid guy she said she was in love with.

"Legend Brendon by name." I introduced, extending my hand out to him which he reluctantly took.

"Leonard Stones." He said and we shook hands.

"I know you may be wondering why I am holding her, she is my mate," I said and there was this lady beside him who I am supposed is his mate gasped.

"Really?" He asked as he stared at his sister whose name I now know as Leticia.

"Yes," I replied. He raised his eyebrows at his sister to confirm but she could not give a reply.

"Son, can I see you for a moment?" My father's voice interrupted and I looked at him. A shaky breath escaped my nostrils as I planted a peck on Leticia's cheek and while I smiled at my mother.

I followed my father to his shade outside. It is where he and mother always have their afternoon rest or even play together. But it was evening already and the sun was setting.

He stopped walking and I did also.

"She is a witch." He affirmed which so much surprised me. I swallowed lightly and put my hands into my pockets.

"She can not be the Luna Queen." He said again which made me look up and glared daggers at him.

"But she is destined to me by the moon goddess," I said with my jaw clenching and unclenching.

"I know. But you know how your mother will react to it once she is told." He said again trying to play mind game with me. I looked away.

The mother card. He is playing it.

"Father, she is my mate and for as long as you did not reject yours. There is no freaking way, I will reject mine." I said to him with a scowl on my face.

"Language!" He snarled.

"I am the Alpha King and I get to decide who ascends the throne. I can't have you mating a witch. You only have just two options." He said with a glare.

"It is either you get mated to the daughter of the chief council of the werewolf community or you forfeit your position as the Alpha Prince." He said and my eyes almost bulged out of their sockets.

"And you have just a week to decide." He said before walking away.

"You..." I scoffed with a frown. I hit the nearest place I could find and blood oozed out.

Just when I found my happiness, I was given two choices.

"Arhgg!!!"
