MasukWith not much strength in her legs, Denae walked back to her quarters, trying to be as silent as possible. She lived amongst four other girls, all of them belonging to Jerald; the man who had taken her father and mother’s life.
He had raided and taken over their packs as well, but the hate that Denae felt towards him was not the same shown in those girl’s eyes. It was as if they had given up on life and were now hanging onto anything they could…why else would they be so happy when the alpha called for them? And why would they hate her for being his favorite?
Adjusting the night gown she wore, she slowly shoved the door open, tiptoeing inside of the silent house. The door creaked as she slowly closed it and she hoped to the goddess that no one had heard.
Her legs took her towards the stairs, and she climbed up each as slowly as she did every time she came back after her nightly meetings with Zaid.
She headed towards her room, sighing out in relief when she made it inside. If she ever got caught, her life would be in grave danger.
She belonged to alpha Jerald, nobody else was supposed to touch her but him, not even his son. He had killed two of the girls that had been here because they were caught f*cking another man, and killed another when she asked him for freedom because she had found her mate.
He was a cruel man, Denae didn’t call him the heartless alpha for show, and if there was anybody she feared in her life, it was him.
It wasn’t a secret that he treated her better than he did the other girls, he had claimed he loved her many times too, but she knew that if he found out about her nightly sexcapades, he’d have her head.
But despite knowing how dangerous it was, she couldn’t stop. Every time Zaid called, she just had to answer. That boy was her weakness, mere words from him had the potential to kill or rejuvenate her.
He was just 18, but he was more of a man than his father ever could be. There was always this fierce look in his eyes…that look that showed up the very night he found out that she was his mate.
His birthday party had started even before the clock hit 12:00 and Denae had made it her point of duty to stay away from it. She had known he was her mate, but dreaded the act of him finding out.
Though she had been young, as his father’s favorite wife, it was her duty to treat him like a mother did a son, and she did. She’d stay with him, read him books, but as he grew older, they drifted apart.
He became cold, he’d barely even waste his breath to tell her ‘hi’, and would look away as soon as their eyes met. There were times when Denae thought it was because he found out about them being mates, but on the night when he traced her into the woods and f*cked her against that big oak tree, she knew that he hadn’t known it before.
She had run until she was out of breath, but he had caught her and as soon as he did…
Denae shook her head, trying to get rid of the memories…that night she had begged him to let her live…if not as his stepmother, then as his mate…
But he had declined both offer and instead said…
‘Live as my whore…show up at my beck and call. If not, I will tell my father about this and let him decide your fate.’
And what better could Denae do? She was trapped, one mistake and her life was at stake. His offer, she had accepted it and braced against the oak tree; legs apart, back arched…just as he demanded.
And he had f*cked her…once, twice, thrice, then left her against the cold, moist grass to grovel in self-pity. His cum had been dripping in large quantities down her bruised thighs and her breasts which he had twirled, sucked and bitten were sore.
Her skin was damaged by his rough touch, her eyes had been welled with tears and her heart with fear.
Back then; exactly one week ago, she hadn’t been sure of her own outcome. She had been sure she’d die, but then again, what was living if she had to live like this?
Sighing, Denae laid back against the bed, curling in on herself. It was foolish, but she couldn’t help but hope that one day her life would turn around and Zaid would be the lovely mate she always wanted…
A mate who’d care about her feelings, one who’d actually love her without bound and without end, one who’d always be there…
But that would be after she finally succeeded in getting rid of the man who got rid of her family; his father. Whether or not he accepted her after that was his decision, but she prayed he would.
Denae’s eyes fluttered shut as she pulled the sheets over her trembling body, the night was long, but she knew the day would be longer…
Zaid looked up at his tormentors then at the food on the floor, trying his best not to glare, not to lash out. They’d only provoke him more if he did. “What? Are you not hungry enough to eat it?” The group of men chuckled, all seeming to enjoy his downfall a lot more than they should. “It’s rice…it’s a little too expensive to go to waste especially by someone like you. Pick it up! Eat it!” Zaid clenched his jaw, defiantly shaking his head. “No.” “Did you hear that? This piece of sh*t said no! Hey you…!” A kick landed against his side. “You still don’t know your f*cking place, do you? You do what I tell you to, no questions asked. Clean the f*cking rice off my floor with that tongue of yours.” “No.” “No? Did you say no again?! Did you say no again you little sh*t?!” He grabbed Zaid by the collar, forcing him to look at him. “You still don’t understand, do you? You’re not an alpha anymore. Your status is now lower than that of an omega. Since you aren’t learning, let me demonstr
Denae stood in deep panic until she could finally see them. Her expectations were all destroyed, her fear and her doubt all disappearing when she noticed that it was Draco who was hauling Jerald towards where she stood and a warrior hauling Zaid. All four of them was a bloody mess…naked as though they all had fought in their wolf form despite all the weapon they had in their possession. Had the war been that intense? Did Draco get hurt too?On her legs that quivered immensely she walked towards him, meeting him half-way. “U-Uncle what…are y~?”Draco threw Jerald on his knees in front of her and threw his sword too. “Pick it up, child.”Denae looked down at the bloody sword and then at her uncle. “What are y~?”“You wanted to fight, didn’t you? You wanted to kill him yourself, so I’m giving you the chance to. Pick up the sword.”“I…I…” Denae’s lips trembled as she picked up the bloody sword, holding it in hands that trembled just the same. It was true, the only reason why she wanted to
Denae was dragged to the back as the war began, Jake hauling her away from the scene just like he had been told to. “Come on…hurry.”Denae pulled her hand out of his. “No, you shouldn’t have brought me along when you knew that I wanted to fight too. I will not just run away, even if I’m scared.”She quickly reached for the sword etched into the baldric over his shoulder, pulling it out before he could stop her. “My legs are shaking, but I will kill Jerald if that is the last thing I do.”Jake’s eyes widened as he tried to grab her hand again. “You promised Denae…you said that you’d listen to me if I begged your uncle to take you.”“And you believed?”Denae was sorry for deceiving him, but she had no other choice. Draco had pledged not to take her, so she had to ask Jake for help. She couldn’t just not come, this fight started because of her, she had to be present. She’d made Jerald a promise, how could she live on without fulfilling it?She’d kill him…the amount of vengeance in her he
Zaid sat up in bed, lifting his shirt to look at the healed wound against his side. He still couldn’t believe it, that woman who loved him too much to refuse him even when he was blatantly being unreasonable had stabbed him with the intention to kill.Since then, he barely ever slept, and he could not fathom why…the fact that she wasn’t around anymore gave his mind no rest or peace and the matebond was like a storm within him; wrecking him inside out…all for her.His wolf too has been acting out…that beastly side of him that acted on instincts seemed to be blaming him; it keeps howling in longing and clawing at the cage that bounded it with persistence, agony and desperation. It wanted to be set free, to take control…to become feral.Zaid had heard it before…a man who lost his mate could possibly lose himself. Was that what was happening to him? Was he losing himself because of that woman who’d slept with his father numerous times? Was he losing it because of that woman who made him f
Denae was placed in the room across from Jake’s and she was now staying there for a week. Her uncle barely spoke to her, or rather he barely spoke to anyone. He kept himself at a distance that was too far to reach.Denae wanted to ask him why he wasn’t close to her dad, but every time he saw her, his glaring eyes would tell her not to approach. But even so, he’d promised to help her, in fact for the past week, he’s been training his men and compiling weapons to fight. Jake trained too, and even though Denae was advised not to, she trained as well. She didn’t care if omegas weren’t made to battle, for all Jerald had done to her, she’d be the one to kill him and if Zaid was still alive, she’d be the one to kill him too. She’d spare no one, for Jerald hadn’t thought of doing so when he had attacked her pack. Picking up the heavy sword at her feet, she walked back onto the field, over to where the dummies were. She hadn’t gotten used to the weapon as yet, but she was working on it.Day an
Before now, Denae had thought entering an unfamiliar pack was no big deal, but as she stood at the borders as a rogue, the possibility of being attacked had fear growing in her heart.“You ready?” Jake asked her.Denae shook her head, biting her lips. “Not at all…”“Well, I am…” He grabbed her hand, hauling her across the borders against her will. During the two weeks they’d spent together, they had gotten a lot closer. Despite their situation, they’d joke around and laugh, something that Denae did not do often. Having someone to talk to or rather having a friend was more convenient than Denae ever thought it could be. It was nice, especially since she knew that she could rely on him, but not at this moment. “Jake you litt~let me go, I’m turning back.”“It’s too late, do you hear that? Someone just yelled something about rogues…they aren’t far, it’s probably the patrollers.”“B-But Jake…!”A shiver wracked down Denae’s spine when the scent of unknown wolves clogged her nostrils, and t
