You're Getting Married

Chloe's POV

The night was cold, something crawled under my skin as I dragged the dead antelope on the floor. I wish I could just take a nap. I just ran so many miles to catch this thing.

The moon was full, giving light for me to see where I was headed.

There were howling sounds everywhere. Wolves.

I stopped in front of my step sister and step mother. I was in my wolf form while they weren't. Of course, I had to do the work of hunting for them. How stupid.

"Look mom, she's finally here. She brought a small catch" Ivy folded her arms and wore a frown on her face. She has a problem of not being contended. I've also learnt to live with her that way.

"Couldn't you catch something bigger than an antelope? Godforsaken bitch!" Alice said and kicked me away. I rolled on the floor and whimpered. I stared at them before I went to hunt for myself.

How I wish dad come back soon already. I've missed him so much. If he was here, Alice wouldn't treat me this way. I'm a slave in my father's house. I do most of the work while Ivy and Alice just sit their ass all day, doing nothing.

I finally found something to eat and went back home. I took off my jacket and hung it.

"I'm back mother" I announced my presence. I had to. I really had to. The last time I went to my room after coming back from hunting, my bed was soaked. All thanks to Alice!

"Go do the dishes! Find something to do! Make yourself useful!" She yelled from her room.

"Yes mother" I yelled.

"I'm not your mother! Don't be a bitch!" She yelled. A day never pass without her telling me that.

I'm not your mother. Anytime I hear it from her, something inside me breaks, shattering into pieces.

Strolling into the kitchen, I met Ivy in the kitchen, stealing some jam and bread. She does that every night. It's already a hobby, a bad habit.

"Really? Don't you have something else to do other than stealing?" I asked, folding my arm.

"I'll advice you to learn how to mind your business Chloe" she said and dropped the jam on the floor. The glass shattered on the floor.

I moved away and gasped.

"Mom! Chloe has broken the jam jar" she yelled and winked at me, taking a small bite from her bread.

"Chloe!!!!"

Alice yelled from her room. What next? Punishment! Punishment for a crime I didn't commit. Sometimes, I wish I could run away but I wouldn't, I couldn't bring myself to. I would wait for my father to come back. I know he would come back one day.

Good thing I'm a patient being.

.

I never knew who my mother was. I never met her, I have no idea what she looks like but dad said I look like her. I'm glad to be my mother's lookalike. She died hours after giving birth to me and dad raised me alone.

When I was five, he got mated to another woman who has a child, same age with me when she came. She was Ivy. I loved her. She cared for me but now Argh! I won't use the word hate. She's really annoying as fuck.

.

Crazy thoughts flashed through my mind as I wiggled my hands. I wiped my hands clean with a napkin and locked the doors. It was late already. Since everyone was asleep, it's time for me to also sleep.

The only thing they didn't take from me was my room and right to education. It's my family school so Alice has no right to stop me from schooling.

Recently, we just finished our exam and our graduation is in two weeks time. Yay! I can't wait. I wish dad would come for my graduation. I took my bath since my body was smelling of blood. Gross!

I had time to think about my life and my future. Who will I end up with? I wish it's Zachary. Rumors had it that he's going to be crowned Alpha. He never noticed me while in school, I just hope I end up with him. My cheek flushed red anytime I think about him. I would even dream about him and wake up with my hand in between my laps.

My family owns the Red Moon Academy. It's a school that was founded by great great grand fathers. Every daughter from our family must be trained and prepared because they will be married to the sons of the Alpha. It's a tradition. It happened every generation. Now, it's my turn. I can't wait to see Alpha Kai walking pass the door to ask for my hand in marriage for his son, Zachary.

Holy smoke! Alice! She's the only one that can change my fate.

.

I rushed downstairs, not minding if I'll injure myself. It will heal anyway.

I found my way to the sitting room. Immediately I barged in, four eyes diverted to me. The Alpha was here. It was as if he heard my thoughts last night and came today.

I swallowed hard and bowed my head.

"Greetings Alpha" I muttered, trying not to stammer.

"You must be Chloe" he said. I wore a quick smile before raising my head.

"Yes Alpha" I replied.

"It's nice to you. I heard about your father. Do not worry, he'll come back very soon" he said. That's what everyone always say to me. He'll come back soon. When is the soon? How long?

"Thanks Alpha. I'll go bring tea and some snacks" I said, about to turn but what I saw next shocked me. I didn't know if I should cry or laugh.

Cry in the aspect that I've been set up. Alice knew that the alpha would be coming today but made me sleep late. She also made Ivy prepare tea and biscuit to make it look like I'm the incapable one. Wow! Just wow!

I would have laughed with the way Ivy held the tray. A little push would make her crash.

"Careful Ivy" Alice said.

"Y..yes mother" she said and gently placed the tray on the table. She has spilled the tea on the tray. Awful remarks!

The Alpha accepted it anyway. I sat down comfortably, wanting to hear what Alice has to say to the Alpha.

Ivy sat down close her mother.

We all watched as Alpha Kai sipped from his tea and placed the cup on the tray.

"Too much sugar. I don't like a lot of sugar Ivy. When you come to the Green mansion, I hope you won't make such mistake"

"Yes Alpha" she smiled and lowered her head.

Wait... What did I just hear?

When you come to the Green mansion? Why is she going to the mansion? What about me?

"She'll be a very great Luna, Alpha. She'll be able to take care of your family" Alice said. She kept praising her daughter when she knows how incapable she is. She can't even wash a cup.

"It's obvious. She'll get married to Zachary after her graduation. While Chloe will get married to Landon" Alpha Kai said, travelling his gaze to me.

Was he expecting me to scream or what? Tears gathered at the corner of my eyes. I wanted to cry but at the same time, I didn't want to cry.

"They'll make a perfect couple" Alice cheered.

" Congratulations to you sis" Ivy said. I swallowed hard but my saliva was just stuck in my throat.

When I said Alice was going to change my fate, I was right. She has ruined my life. Why didn't she make her daughter get married to Landon, why me?

I grabbed the edge of my seat, looking for what to channel my anger to.

"Once Zachary's wedding is over, Landon's marriage with Chloe will be up next" Kai said, standing up from the chair. We all stood up also.

"Yes Alpha. We'll prepare for it" Alice bowed her head, acting like a kind step mother. Her actions disgust me.

"Very well then. Good bye Chloe" he smiled at me and left. I smiled back but it was all fake smile.

Immediately I heard his old Benz zooming off, I turned to stare at Alice. My tears could finally roll down my cheek.

"How could you do this mother? You very well know that I'm supposed to get married to Zachary but you made Ivy his match already. Why?!" I yelled.

The next thing was a hard slap on my cheek. I touched my face. My reason to cry doubled. I gnashed my teeth as if I was cold.

" Ivy is more capable than you. Besides that, she's very beautiful" Alice said, touching Ivy's hair.

"Now clear the table and get out of my sight. What's wrong with you getting married to Landon?"

"Mom.."

"I'm not your fucking mother! Get lost" she pushed me away to the table. I crashed the tray on the table and ended up breaking one of the cups. It pierced through my laps. The pain was so much. I groaned silently and acted like nothing happened.

They left to their rooms while I cleaned up. I rushed to the woods to cry more. If I cry at home, they end up torturing me more. I found my usual spot and sat down, leaning my back on the tree. I could finally break down. I continued crying for a long time and raised my gown. I gently pulled the glass and threw it away.

"Argh!" I tightened my eyes shut.

The wound slowly healed but I didn't stop crying. I don't want to get married to Landon. He's a beast, a monster. A bloody one.

"I hate everyone!" I screamed, thinking that would relieve me but I heard a reply.

"Can you shut up please?" He said in a deep masculine voice. I froze, with my eyes wide. For some seconds, I thought the forest was talking to me.
