Chapter four
Kade
I shut my eyes, slowly tapping my fingers on my thigh, clenching my chiselled jaws as I tried to contain my rage while receiving information from my Beta via mind-link.
A bastard was caught snooping around the pack borders! How unlucky he was.
Successfully Submerging my furious wolf who kept whining and growling in my head, I quickly mind-linked my beta to send him into the dungeon where I was.
Where my captives were taken care of.
I took a long drag on my tobacco, feeling the gush of adrenaline throughout my body that charged me with pleasure and vigour.
"Ahhh," I exhaled slowly, puffing out the smoke in the air with my eyes tight shut.
I relished the feeling and at once I was excited. Excited to execute, to cause a massacre, to wreak havoc.
The swinging and slamming of the door broke my euphoria, causing my eyes to open at once. A small smile broke on my lips as I smelt my Beta fast approaching. He was the only one that could barge into my space without getting torn apart by my irate wolf. I could sense his closeness and I could sense another presence with him.
The smell of sweat and blood suddenly swept across the room, making me cringe my nose in disgust. That moment, I knew it was the spy sent from my rival pack. My Beta, Silvius, had delivered him the way I wanted.
Brutally beaten.
Slowly turning to my Beta who held a man in his late thirties that looked like he was about to pass out any moment, I nodded at him signifying a job well done.
"Alpha," He bowed, before lifting his eyes to meet my gaze, "He was caught trying to..."
I raised my finger in the air, interrupting him as my eyes were fixed on the body of my blood-soaked prey. Suddenly, the excitement I felt died, replacing itself with apathy.
"Take care of him," I said, quite surprised at how dull my voice sounded as I started walking towards the door.
"But why?"
I stopped in my tracks, drawing in sharp breaths as I snapped my eyes shut before opening them slowly. I almost forgot that Silvius was the only one who could question my authority. But not all the time. He was my Beta, my right-hand man. Even if we started as enemies to friends, he had proven to be trustworthy and I trusted him with my life, the same applied to him.
"Don't tell me you just beat him up without noticing the tattoo on his body," I bellowed as my gaze didn't leave the half-dead man. I let my eyes travel from his blood-stained head that made his hair appear sticky as they concealed his face to his badly broken torso as his cloth was ripped apart and then to his twisted knees that couldn't support his legs anymore.
Silvius had done a good job. He had been brutally beaten which made it difficult to recognize him. But I recognized him, and this time, he won't slip off my fingers.
"Don't be dumb. Don't tell me that you didn't see those," I pointed at the mark and tattoo on my prey's body that hid beneath his ripped cloth and blood, "It is crystal clear that even the blind can see it,"
"I am sorry, Alpha," Silvius mumbled as I watched him from the corner of my eyes as he scratched the back of his head in confusion.
The sound of my footsteps resonated throughout the room as I walked Silvius with my hands buried in my black leather jacket. I could smell their fears as Silvius' hands won't stop trembling behind his back and my prey won't stop gasping like he had seen a ghost, mumbling pleas that triggered my anger.
I like that. Fear me.
"You know what this means," I muttered, pointing at my prey's ripped arm, maintaining eye contact with Silvius.
"Yes, Alpha. He belongs to our rival pack, the Dark Moon pack. The tattoo says it all," He said, admitting his stupidity.
"This mark here..." I placed my heavy black boot on the left side of my prey's chest, balancing my weight on the leg that pressed his badly injured chest, "Means the mark of secrecy," I added, increasing the pressure on his chest, ignoring his screams, "He will never reveal a word," I angrily crushed his chest with my boot causing him agonizing pain.
"But we can torture him, Alpha. We can make him talk, this time, he might give us some information..."
"We can do nothing!" I yelled, irritated by Silvius' optimism, "He is a trained spy for fuck's sake, he won't reveal a thing," I sighed, looking at his badly crushed chest as he gave his last breath, "You think you can make him talk by causing him pain? He had gone through hell... Just like..." I paused and looked away as I remembered my days of hell, the days I craved death.
The Alpha of the Dark Moon pack took something from me, something of inestimable value and I will never relent till I watch him give his last breath, together with those he loved.
Make him die slowly and painfully before throwing his carcass to the vultures to feed on.
"Never stop fighting," The last words of my dying father rang in my head as my eyes met with the moon outside the window and a small smile broke on my lips.
"When is the Alpha of the Dark Moon's pack birthday?"
"Tomorrow," Silvius replied as stared at me in confusion, wondering what I was up to. No one knew what I was up to, not even Silvius, my Beta who was my childhood friend.
No, you cannot predict me.
"Great. Tell Gamma Lukas to prepare a lovely birthday gift for the Alpha. The gift should contain the bastard's head and his balls, wrapped in a beautiful foil, with the pack's tattoo on it. Tell him not to forget to wish him a happy birthday," I laughed devilishly, holding my stomach. How interesting this game was.
"That was his favourite spy,"
Guys, meet our male lead, Kade, the Blood Alpha himself. I am sure you are already in love with him. Thanks for reading ❤️ Your comments are appreciated
If you are reading this right now, you don't know how much grateful I am. It takes a lot to start a book from the beginning, but out of the many hundreds that started this journey with me, you chose to finish this book without considering my long breaks, grammatical inaccuracy and all. I really want to appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. I'm glad you invested both time and money into my book. Bless you all. I know the way I ended the book didn't please some of you, but it's the best I can do. I also didn't like the way I rushed my book, especially the part two. At least, Esmeralda and Selene got their happy ending. I planned on making the part two at least 30 chapters, but I have to study for my examination. It's next month and it's already here. I don't want to leave you hanging again. After my exam, I can write as much as I can because I'll be a graduate (BA) I'm studying English and literary studies 😉 This chapter was intended to appreciate those that spend time, gems, a
Chapter 114 (T.R.O.P) Esmeralda I had almost finished meditating on my powers when my stomach growled in hunger. The more I tried to focus on building my strength, to control my powers, the more the war in my stomach doubled. When I couldn't take it anymore, I got up from the floor where I knelt, picked up the piece of cloth that I knelt on and went inside the house. I almost missed the melodies the birds filled my ears with. I love nature and it helps me concentrate better. It fuels my strength when I draw powers from it. A smile crept on my lips when a delicious scent wafted my nose. I couldn't wait to devour the new recipe I just tried. I decided to try out a recipe that I found in an old jotter in the kitchen. I was sure it belonged to the man's wife that owned the house. After several hours of mixing, frying, stirring and boiling, it came out well. Even though I turned the kitchen upside down. I couldn't wait to try out more recipes in the book when I get
Chapter 113(T.R.O.P) Esmeralda A sigh of relief slipped off my lips, "Home sweet home," I muttered tiredly as I walked into the 'old house' as Selene often referred to it. Staying in the old house was my idea which she hated because it belonged to an old couple that died several years ago. The house was built in an old-fashioned way to Selene's distaste. But I cared less. Whether old-fashioned or not, the house was warm and comforting. It reminded me of my mother's house. The option of moving to my mother's house was a tempting one, but I discarded the idea. I didn't want to be reminded of those memories. As far as I was concerned, they were dead and buried. And I had already moved on. I strode to the dining table tiredly, poured some water from the jug into a glass cup and gulped every drop of it down my throat. My throat was almost on fire! The sun was merciless and I had exhausted the water in my bottle. Worst of all, I and Selene were the only ones here. I w
Chapter 112(T.R.O.P)EsmeraldaThe night was long and terrifying. I couldn't sleep all night as I was afraid of what he would do to me. The sounds of his constant mumbling, groaning and jerking kept my eyes glued on him. And his cursing too. Sometimes, he whispered words that sounded like pleas while sometimes, he shouted from his sleep like someone was after him or chasing him in a hot pursuit. It was strange because I had never imagined anything could make this monstrous Alpha behave vulnerable in his sleep. I couldn't fathom what was happening to him but I knew it was a dream. A bad dream. His worst nightmare. But what kind of dream frightens the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack? Suddenly, he woke up, gasping and panting hard. My blood almost froze when he shot me a deadly glare. But after a few seconds, he went back to sleep. It didn't take long before the jerking began again. The second time was the worst. He jumped on the bed like he saw a ghost in his dream and dashed out
Chapter 111(T.R.O.P) Aphelion Impatient, I banged the door repeatedly with my large fist, ignoring the person's sleepy voice as I banged it again. "Fucking answer me," I cursed with shaky breath, swallowing hard as I was partly consumed by fear. Yes, you heard right. The Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack was afraid. If it were by some lousy Alpha, I would have understood, but it was by some strange woman. A woman from my nightmare dressed in green robes with strange strawberry hair. My breath hitched when the cold breeze swept up on my skin and I quickly turned back to look into the darkness. I could feel her flaming emerald eyes giving me a haunting disapproving look. And that evil grin plastered on her face...and her words that left me in shock. My heartbeat quickened as my eyes roamed the darkness. It was like she was here... watching me... haunting me... And in times like this, there was only one person I needed… "Open this fucking door!" I tried to use my Alpha vo
Chapter 110 (T.R.O.P) Kade "Alpha," Lucas, my Gamma called, bringing me out of my deep thoughts. I snapped my head at him, accessing him shortly before signalling him to come in. My heart skipped a beat when he walked into the room. I tried to keep my emotions in check, but my heart won't stop pounding in anticipation. I didn't miss the surprised look on his face as he walked into my room with his mouth slightly ajar. My room was as messy as hell. It looked like the third world war happened here. Things were scattered everywhere, including broken objects. He carefully navigated his path, avoiding the broken wine glass on the floor before bowing briefly to me and stopping to watch me. Just go straight to the point! I shifted uncomfortably on my seat, watching him eagerly to speak. Don't look desperate, Kade. But fuck it, I was desperate. I've never been so desperate in my life. Since he wasn't going to speak, I'll go first. I hope it was a positive result. "A
