LOGINLilith's POV
At first, I thought that she had talked to me.
But that wasn't it.
I could tell that she wasn't addressing me. And if she wasn't, who was she talking to then?
I asked myself that question, and it easily answered when I noticed that Kieran stopped crushing me, and looked perplexed.
His eyes were wide with surprise, and he was visibly confused.
I guess the fact that I also looked confused must've thrown him off because I saw that for a mome
Lilith's POVAt first, I thought that she had talked to me.But that wasn't it.I could tell that she wasn't addressing me. And if she wasn't, who was she talking to then?I asked myself that question, and it easily answered when I noticed that Kieran stopped crushing me, and looked perplexed. His eyes were wide with surprise, and he was visibly confused.I guess the fact that I also looked confused must've thrown him off because I saw that for a moment,he was expecting to see something in my eyes.'What the hell is happening?' I asked myself, looking at Kieran and asking Dione the same question.I knew for sure that I hadn't opened my mouth, so there was no way that I said that out loud. And on top of that, the statement was made by Dione, and it even sounded like it was her voice. It was just the same way that she and I used to communicate, but Kieran had heard it.No.She had made Kieran hear it.
Lilith's POVKieran was boiling up, and with every passing second, he looked like he was growing a foot taller. He was about to charge at me at any moment, and I could tell that he was not going to hold back.Using the journal as my shield was a big mistake, and it made him even more committed to send a message."You think you can threaten me with that?" He roared, taking another step forward."I have gone toe to toe with Alphas who tried to threaten me with the lives of my pack members! And you think that using the journal as your bargaining chip will make me do what? Fall to my knees and beg you not to do it?"With that, he took another step, making me regret even touching the carpet in the first place.I was wishing that I could have stopped myself earlier or listened to Dione.Since she didn't want to be part of my snooping around, she had retreated to the back of mind, so far back that I couldn't even reach her for help.
Lilith's POVFor a split second, everything was frozen and silence took over. All that I could hear was the heartbeat of Kieran, together with his breathing.I had closed my eyes, and waited for the worst to happen, but nothing did.For what seemed to be hours, I held up that journal in the air, with the threat that I made still lingering in the air.Deep down, I feared that I had just sealed my fate by finding the journal, and the nail on the coffin was threatening to destroy it.So, as I awaited for Keiran to destroy me, I held my breath and begged for intervention from the moon goddess. There was absolutely nothing more that I could do to get out of that situation. The thought of even trying to go toe to toe with the Exiled Alpha, was a fever dream. There was absolutely no chance in hell that I could even survive a second against him.One swipe of his paw was enough to kill me, and I was even contemplating whet
Lilith's POVMy blood froze in my veins as I stared at the beast standing by the hallway.Kieran wasn't just angry, he was furious. Enraged sounds like the better term for what he looked like he was experiencing, but it was still not enough. His nostrils were already flaring, and the veins at the temples of his head were visible, pulsating so much that they threatened to rupture at the smallest inconvenience. And I was the inconvenience. The man was staring a hole right through me, and I was too scared to move. The notebook that was in my hands, trembled as I tried to steady my breathing. But it was all in vain.My body was already betraying me.As I looked into his eyes, one thought kept crossing my mind over and over again.'I should have listened to Dione.'If only I had done that, I wouldn't have found myself in that situation. The best that I could do was at least try and talk my way out of it.
Seren's POVWith that warning, Griffin was gone and I was left standing, wondering what my next move was going to be.There was no way that they were going to let me leave the pack and look for Lilith without being hanged. If I was going to defy them and go in search of Lilith, regardless of the threat that was just issued, I knew that I was technically sealing my death sentence. However, I couldn't just sit on my hands while my best friend was out there, in the woods, with a monster whose reputation superceded him.I mean, he didn't just come after the pack once. He did it the first time and took Lilith with him as a hostage.Well, that what went through my mind the moment the took her. However, when we got her back, I was ecstatic, more than anyone that she was back. However, when Kieran attacked the second time and took her, he proved to me that he was intentionally going after her.He was no longer coming after the pa
Seren's POVI hadn't even made it far when I heard someone calling my name."Seren!"The voice was pitched and it didn't take a genius to know that whoever was calling out to me, wasn't happy. In fact, I could already hear the anger in the tone that was from the person calling me.As I turned around, I was expecting to see Ryder standing there, probably after being taunted into doing something by his friends after I completely humiliated him. However, it wasn't him.I turned and noticed that the person that was coming after me was bigger than Ryder. For sure he was as tall as Alpha Zander, but he didn't have the same posture as the Alpha.Due to old age, Zander had slouched forward over the years until he got to his maximum.Even if he was old and slouched, he still wasn't a force to be reckoned with. So, you can imagine how my heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I thought that it was him. When
Zander's POVThe room was plunged into silence as all eyes looked at me and at my son, Ryder. This was not what I expected to be the outcome of elder Braun's question, and neither did Ryder. Obviously."I'm still set to be sworn in as Alpha," Ryder protested, concern in his voice. He had every righ
Zander's POVPushing open the doors to the meeting chambers, I could see all the council of elders seated at the table. The table, was a huge and curved table that housed all the seats for the elders, and mine at the very center of it. To my sides, were two extra seats. One for Griffin and the othe
Alpha Zander's POVThe pack was on a panic. And it wasn't rocket science kinda problem that was haunting us. No, it was none other than the brute, Kieran.Walking down the halls of the pack house, I sensed tension in the air. I could see the fear on the faces of every man and woman that passed me.
Lilith's POVLooking into his eyes, I almost wanted to believe him. That the man standing in front of me, was not influenced by his own actions, but those of his wolf.Sounds absurd, right?I know, I was having a hard time believing that. Actually, I was having a hard time believing anything that w
