(Damien's Pov) Hurt

 ‘You hurt our mate after she begged us not to cause her pain!’ Hunter growled at me in my mind. ‘I will rip you to shreds, you keep making her cry, you piece of shit, she doesn’t understand that she is our mate yet.’

       ‘Yeah, and she never will’ I retorted as I bounced down the stairs.

       ‘She will, if you would be patient and kind with her, her...’ But I cut him off, I was tired of his idle threats and just wanted to eat and go to bed. I walked into the kitchen and sat at the table when my nanny Suzette brought me my plate of food.

      “Thank you, Nanny,” I replied, grabbing my fork.

      “Not for you, idjit, for the Luna Queen,” She smacked me on the back of the head and my once slicked-back black hair was now a mess. “Go, you get yours when she gets hers.” She glared at me. Honestly, this old woman was the only one I trusted and allowed to beat me up. 

      “Kara!” I yelled with a smirk on my face staring at Nanny Suzette. “Bring this plate of food to the Luna Queen,” I handed the young woman the plate and watched as she headed up the stairs, when I turned back my nanny had already started hitting me with the towel. As I laughed I heard a yell from up the stairs, which prompted me to laugh more.

      “Why did you have to go and scare the Luna Queen you idjit? You know Kara likes showing people her severed tongue.” Nanny said as she dropped my plate in front of me.

      “Oh Nanny, how was I supposed to know?” I replied with a smirk as I shoveled food into my mouth. I knew Kara would show her half tongue, it’s a tactic I like people to see. It sparks fear that I am ruthless, but the truth is her family sold her to rogues and they cut out her tongue before I was able to save her and the other teenagers in time. “Nanny don’t go, I’m sorry,” I yelled out to my gray-haired nanny as she grabbed her purse, and walked out the back door, shaking her head. After I finished my meal, I made my way up the stairs and opened up her door. I stood by her bed and watched her sleep before pushing back, her curly brunette hair out of her eyes. I slowly began dragging myself away from her and to my room. I woke up the next morning and opened the door to her room, I watched her still asleep, and lightly kissed her cheek before making my way down the stairs to morning training. When training was over, I grabbed myself a bagel and kissed Nanny on the head before heading upstairs for a shower. I am determined to try my best with my mate and get her to understand that she is mine. As I finished my bagel I dropped my clothes and headed for the shower.
