“I can’t stay here for too long Tyler. I have to finish everything as soon as possible or I might end up beating a teenager to stupol.” I informed my best friend on the phone.

“Try not to. Control your anger. Remember he’s eighteen and you are twenty one.” Tyler reminded me.

“I’m trying but the bastard came for me. I have to make sure I discover the truth on time and leave because he’d keep pushing and you know what I hate the most and that’s stupid people like him.” I reminded him.

“What about her?” Tyler asked.

“Who?” I asked back.

“Your mate? Astrid?” He asked.

“There’s no way I’m claiming her.” I reminded him.

“You say that but you always come to her rescue.” He reminded me.

“So what was I supposed to do? Watch her get bullied? She’s too weak. Always crying and never stands up for herself. I don’t know why she wants to stay here because it’s evident the only reason she’s here is because they want to use her for their stupid experiment and I’m guessing that is the reason why she was allowed to come back in the first place.” I told him what I sincerely thought about.

“You can lie to everyone and even me but not to yourself. I saw the way you looked at her. I’ve never seen you look at anyone that way before and knowing you, you are very good at minding your business but somehow you’ve gotten involved in….”

“You know what, I will call you back later.” I whispered to him when I heard the voice of the headmistress and an Elderly man whose face I found familiar but couldn’t confirm since I didn’t see his face.

“I know what you are trying to do and you…”

I ended the call and hid behind the garbage can there so that I could listen to their conversation.

I quickly turn on my recorder.

“What do you mean by that? Someone found the hideout? How? Who is that person and what about the omega’s?” The elderly man asked, a hint of irritation evident in his tone.

“I don’t know. The men that were in charge were captured too so we don’t know who it is and the omega girl, she survived.” The headmistress informed him.

“So where is she?” The man asked.

“She’s back in the academy. When I learnt of this, I had to accept her back to the academy. That’s the only way we can find out who it is that saved her and also where they took her. She should be able to know something.” The headmistress answered.

“If anything goes wrong then I will blame you for it. You should have known better than letting someone find out about the plans. Who could have saved her? If I find that person, I will make sure that they regret it and you better handle things before it gets out of hand, is that clear?” The man stated in an authoritative tone.

“Yes, Alpha Randolph.” She replied and that was the answer I needed.

Alpha Randolph, Damien’s dad. I started putting pieces together and got to realize that they had expelled Astrid in the first place to capture her for their experiment.

It was now clear to me that the mistress has been giving omega’s scholarship to come to the academy not because they cared but because of their experiment and she was working for Alpha Randolph.

But why were they giving to these omegas? What was Alpha Randolph’s intention?

“Call the girl and speak to her. Get every information you can get from her as soon as possible so that we will know what to do next. We don’t want anyone knowing too much about this or else I will have your head.” Alpha Randolph warned.

She nodded her head in understanding. As soon as both of them were gone, I came out of my hiding, stretching my body because I had to bend for too long so as to conceal my presence.

I had to find Astrid and to make sure to tell her not to let the headmistress know that I was the one that rescued her. My identity was still hidden from them as they didn’t know that I was an undercover spy in the school.

It was all thanks to Tyler’s great effort that I was able to enter the school using my real name but a different identity.

I searched around the school for Astrid and luckily for me, I was able to find her and she was in the school field, crying.

I watched her from afar as she cried. Seeing her cry hurt me so much. It was all thanks to my wolf. He was overly concerned for her and because she didn’t know that I was her mate made it easy for me to conceal my identity.

“Go console her!” My wolf scolded and I sighed deeply before taking a bold step towards her.

The moment she saw me, she quickly wiped the tears in her eyes.

“Why are you here?” She asked.

“Why are you crying?” I asked.

“Crying? No, I'm not. Something got into my eyes.” She lied.

“How long are you going to keep crying? Do you think it will do anything? Do you think it will solve anything?”

She looked at me for a few seconds without saying anything. She took her bag in her laps, unzipped it and brought out a non scarring band-aid.

“Here. I got it for you. You should use it to cover the bruise on your lips. Thank you for standing up for me today.” She said, stretching her arms to hand over to me the non scarring band-aid.

I refused to take the band-aid from her. “The headmistress will call you soon. When she asks you what happened to you and who saved you, make sure to not mention my name and tell her that you cannot recall as you were knocked out and when you opened your eyes, you were on the streets.”

“Why? What’s going on?” She sounded confused but I couldn’t explain further to her.

“Just do as I’ve said. Do not tell her anything.” I turned to walk away but my wolf scolded me to take the non scarring band aid.

“Thank you.” I said to her after I took the non scarring band-aids from her.
