Nothing prepared Olivia for the new life she was living. She had grown up being loved and cared for with every need being provided for. Her parents had gone above and beyond just to make her happy. It was like a compensation for not being able to give her another smile. They had really tried.

Now she had to be awake at 4 every morning to begin work. She and Lucy turned out to be one of the slaves that would work in the Alpha’s house. At first she hated it because it meant they were restrained to the house, but when she saw how the other people in the pack treated the freelance slaves, she was happy she was stuck here.

The amount of work she did resulted in the amount of food she got at the end of the day. It was the same for everyone which meant there was competition for who did the most work. She and Lucy worked together, watching each other’s backs and eating the little they got at the end of the day together. Though they worked in the Alpha’s huse, they barely saw him.

Just a couple of random wolves who dished out orders and made their lives more miserable. All this convinced Olivia that men were pigs. They often make sexual jokes and passes at them, all they tried to ignore, some were just too hard to pass.

So they started looking for work on the second floor of the house where they had been prohibited from going. Only the senior slaves were allowed to go there. That was where the Alpha's room was. Just to get away from the men and not make it look like she was not working, Olivia wandered to the second floor one day. It felt good to get away from the noise and the pressure. She just wanted to go back home.

She saw a door cracked open and she walked towards it. Everything in her head was screaming at her to turn away and go back but the little persistent one that urged her to go on overshadowed them. She was skeptical so she looked around to make sure no one was around, she had been warned from coming here after all. When she was sure she was alone, she pushed the door a little farther and peered inside the room.

It was dark because the curtains were drawn but the small rays of sunlight that seeped in through them was enough to illuminate the room. A strong smell came from the room and it made her heart beat faster. As she stepped her feet in the room, the sharp pain of someone pulling her hair dragged her out.

“What do you think you're doing, you pig?” She didn’t even get a chance to look up at the face of the person who slapped her hard across the face.

It was so hard she fell to the floor and her cheek throbbed. She finally looked up to see a girl. A short one who wasn’t even as tall as she was, she knew she could beat up this girl but she stayed down and seethed with anger.

“Jacob!” The girl shouted and Olivia heard heavy feet coming up the stairs.

"What is this thing doing up here? I thought I told you to make sure no one came up here!”

Jacob’s eyes darted from Olivia’s to the girl. Yes, Olivia didn’t even see her as a woman.

“I caught her trying to enter the Alpha’s room. She wanted to steal something!”

Olivia looked up suddenly and tried to defend herself. She had no idea it was the Alpha’s room.

“No, it’s not like that. I was just-“

She was silenced with another slap, this time from Jacob.

“Take her downstairs. She’s stinking up the place.”

Stacie stormed away and Olivia watched Jacob’s shoes come into her line of sight. She flinched when she saw him raise his hands. She felt something drop down her back and thought it was sweat.

“Relax, I'm not going to hurt you. I’m sorry for hitting you. I just had to so she would stop bitching. You can go now.”

Olivia wasn't sure he was being serious about letting her go for real so she hesitated until he urged her on. With his help, she stood up and slowly walked downstairs keeping her head down as a numb feeling took over her. She wanted to cry but the tears weren’t coming. She wasn’t surprised, it took a lot for her to cry. But she still wanted an outlet.

“The Alpha is back. Where the hell have you-“ Lucy stopped when she saw her best friend's face “Livvy, what happened to your face?”

Olivia didn’t answer. She just looked at Lucy with eyes filled with so many words, words that she couldn’t say. Lucy pulled her in for a hug and they stayed like that for a while. No words were said because there was nothing to say. They had gone through so much together and both girls just wanted to go home.

Lucy helped her put ice on the cheek. They had barely got any work done today so it was doubtful they were going to get any food today. Unfortunately, that was not the only issue she was going to have today.

“The Alpha is calling you.” One of the Alpha’s guards told her.

Lucy and Olivia looked at each other with eyes wide open. Olivia’s heart beat so loudly and she had chills.

“She’ll be there in a minute.” Lucy said.

“Now!”

Olivia followed the man back upstairs. This was her fault. Why hadn’t she listened to her head that told her to go back? Now, he has been reported. She had no idea what he was going to do to her but she braced herself up for it.
