“Well now I know not to pick a fight with you,” Nathan joked as we settled outside. 

“You still wanna talk?” I tried to redirect the conversation so we could get it over with. 

“Yea,” he sat up a bit straighter, “I wanted to apologize, I know I haven’t been very accepting of you telling me not to pursue things between us. It doesn’t change how I feel about wishing there was something, but I’ll try and back off unless you tell me otherwise.”
