I bowed my head with respect, and she squeezed my arm gently, before turning towards Thane and Cole. "I will go now, if one of you will allow me," she said, and they nodded, Cole coming over to take her upstairs and open the door for her. I gave him a sympathetic smile as I noticed the harrowed look on his face, and went over to see if I could be of any help to Dorian and Thane.

"Oh, goddess!" I gasped loudly as I reached the open cell door, noticing Elsie on the floor, a horribly bloody mess. Her cell was in a similar state, with smears of blood all over the place, clearly from her many wounds - most of them around her head. Dorian was shining in a torch in one eye, then the other, holding the eyelids open gently with his thumb, then sighed softly.

"She's out, but responsive to stimuli," he said quietly, "We won't know how bad it is unless we can take her to the hospital." I looked up at Thane then, wondering if he'd allow it, and he sighed deeply, running a hand through his hair,
