The moment Sebastian got close enough, his cold gaze landed on the girl Levi held protectively at his side.

His expression didn’t shift, but his eyes seemed to take her in carefully, like he was studying a problem rather than a person.

“Greetings, Alpha. Beta. Gamma.”

He paused briefly, and his eyes settled once more on Kaliyah.

“Luna.”

The way he said it made something twist in her stomach. It wasn’t kind. It was… formal and cold, like acknowle

Leon, who had stepped out for a bit, just walked in, and then he looked at everyone. “What’s going on?” He asked, after noticing the tension.Mirella looked at him. “The doctor needs silver leaf for Kaliyah’s treatment… and so Levi has to go to Crimson Moore to go get it.”Leon looked at them. “What? Crimson Moore?”And then Ray looked at him. “That’s the exact same thing we’re saying. We can’t let him go alone.”Levi sighed. “Fine. Oliver, Leon,” he tilted his head toward them, “you both are coming with me.”Then he turned to Ray. “Ray, handle things here. Be with the doctor and take care of things till we get back, okay?”Ray nodded. “As you wish. The three of you better be safe.”“Aww, you love us so much. Don’t worry, we’ll be safe.” Oliver, ever being so dramatic even in the midst of tension said.Ray looked at him, but didn’t say anything. He just scoffed. And then the three men headed outside. They made their way into Levi’s black SUV. Levi sat at the driver’s seat, with Olive

Dr. Elric sighed, his brows furrowed with tension, then turned to Nurse Clara.“Go find Kirk downstairs. Both of you should head back to the hospital and bring some silver leaf immediately.”“Yes Doctor,” Nurse Clara nodded, already moving. She turned swiftly and hurried out the room. Some minutes passed then Dr. Elric made his way downstairs where the rest of the household were seated in silence. The room felt heavy with worry and eyes turned toward him instantly, begging for any drop of good news.He straightened, giving a calming breath.“Don’t worry,” he said gently, “everything is going to be alright. She’s strong.”Then his eyes moved to Levi.“Alpha,” he said, his voice more serious now, “we can start the blood transfusion. I’ll just run a few checks, and we’ll begin immediately.”Levi stood without hesitation.“Yes, Doctor.”They both ascended the stairs and entered the newly-prepared medical room. One side of the room had been neatly sectioned off with a blue hospital privac

And outside, the faint sound of doors opening and equipment being unloaded meant things were already in motion. While they waited for the maids to finish cleaning up the room, Dr. Elric moved to the entrance and began directing four young men dressed in clean blue hospital uniforms. Each of them carefully handling medical equipment. Two of the boys were wheeling in a heart monitor and an IV drip stand, while the other two carried in a portable oxygen concentrator and a digital blood pressure machine. They moved steadily, placing the equipment in a line near the staircase, awaiting further instruction.Just then, a Felicia came rushing out from upstairs. She bowed quickly, slightly out of breath. “Alpha, everyone, the room is ready.”Levi gave a single nod. “Good. Show them the way.”“Yes, Alpha,” she said, turning immediately. “This way, please.”Dr. Elric, the nurse, and the four hospital assistants followed behind her, carrying the equipment carefully up the staircase. “It's nothing to worry about”. He said softly, while avoiding her gaze. “You’ll be fine. You just need treatment.”Kaliyah lifted her hand to raise his chin so that he could look into her eyes. “Levi… what did the doctor say?” She urged softly.Levi forced a smile and kissed the back of her hand. “My love.. you're just a little unwell, you just need rest.” He said, motioning for her to lie back down. But she wasn’t buying it. She knew him to an extent by now. And this wasn’t how he usually behaved. Something was wrong. “Why are you lying to me?” Tears welled up in her eyes.Levi’s eyes turned even gentler. “Hey… don’t cry. Please don’t cry, baby.”“Please tell me what the doctor said.”Levi sighed and made her lie down. “I didn’t want to tell you so you don’t get worried. You’re already unwell.” He said, stroking the back of her hand.“Please…” “The doctor said… there is poison in your blood. You’ve been consuming wolfsbane for a very long time.” He finally said.Kaliyah looked at

“Wait, does that mean she’s a werewolf?” “Yes. The Luna is a werewolf.” Dr. Eric said.Levi dropped to his seat.Everybody's mouth hung open and they were dumbfounded for a while. And then Oliver spoke. “So… she didn’t smell human because she wasn’t human, and she didn’t smell like a werewolf because—”“The wolf’s bane was suppressing her wolf.” Ray completed. “Exactly.” Dr. Eric nodded.Levi ran a hand through his hair. “This means her foster mum has been giving her wolf’s bane…” He murmured. “From what the test says, she’s been given wolf’s bane in small amounts for a long time. We’ll conduct more tests and see how long she’s been taking it, but what we can see right now is that the wolf’s bane suppressed her wolf. That’s why she has never shifted… and it’s probably really fatal for her health.” The doctor stated.Levi stood up from his seat and walked toward the doctor. “I’ll worry about who’s been giving her wolfbane and all that shit later. Right now, her health is the priori

He sat back beside her, took the damp cloth from her forehead, dipped it back into the bowl of cool water, wrung it out, and gently placed it back onto her skin.He leaned forward, brushing his knuckles along her cheek with infinite tenderness before pressing a soft kiss there.“Baby... you’re scaring me so much,” he whispered hoarsely. He picked up her hand and kissed it too, holding it tightly in both of his.Kaliyah’s lips parted slightly, and it looked like she wanted to speak, but no sound came out.Levi's heart cracked. His entire body tensed, and a flicker of desperation flashed in his eyes.“No, shh…” he said softly. “Don’t try to talk. Just relax, okay? I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”He adjusted the cloth on her head once more and stroked her hair with his fingers.“You’ll be okay… you’ll be okay…” He whispered over and over. And as her breathing softened and she drifted back into a light sleep, Levi sat there beside her like a mate who would burn the world down jus

“Come upstairs,” he said, his tone deadly serious. And then he turned, heading for the stairs with Kaliyah cradled protectively against his chest.
