Damien’s POV
“Why father, why is it so urgent I go and get her? Irina wanted to leave” I was planning on going after her anyway but it was annoying me that I still didn’t know the full picture.
My father rakes his hand through his thinning hair, he was beginning to look old!
“You don’t understand Damien. You have to bring Irina home!”
His eyes are wide as he starts pacing and shaking his head
“Irina had been planning to leave for a long time father. It’s not something she has just thought about. She has been planning it for years!”
It was obvious by the amount of money she had stashed away, she had been planning on leaving for a long time, maybe even years.
Irina’s POV“I’m not mated yet”. It was hard to speak, my whole body was trembling, it even felt like my eyes were shaking.“You’re not marked?” Shaun’s eyes were wide“No”“Do you know who your mate is? Have you met him?”I shake my head; I couldn’t tell him. What if they took me back, what if they won’t let me join their pack??“What’s happening to me Shaun?”He was holding my hands, trying to stop me from scratching myself, but I wanted to do more than scratch myself, it was like I wanted to punish myself for feeling this way.
Irina’s POVShaun carries me into another room at the opposite end of the building. It had recently been decorated in a pale blue colour, basic items such as a bed and a wardrobe were placed around the room and yet I didn’t take any notice of the woman until she introduced herself. Her hair was short, fiery red and a chaotic mess like it had never been brushed. Multiple necklaces hung around her neck with some beautiful blue gems that matched her eyes. She was probably around the same age as me and she had the biggest smile plastered on her face.“I’m Rosy, you must be Irina”She offers her hand out for me to shake as Shaun lowers me and ducks his head out of my bound wrists.Rosy giggles and tak
Damien’s POV“I won’t ask you again Ivan. Where is Irina?”He raises an eyebrow at me “Careful now Damien. I could end the treaty right now”His dark eyes focus on me and they looked like they had turned a shade darker as he spoke. Ivan's appearance was more menacing than normal. He fiddles with the large skull ring on his finger as he smiles.“Irina chose to come here” he glances back up at me as he folds his arms “Like I said at your so called Alpha party, no one forced her”I try to keep myself in check, but Aiden was telling me to challenge Ivan. The problem was Ivan would end the treaty which would put our packs at war again and I couldn’t do that to my pa
Irina’s POVI thought it was Damien coming for me, I had scented him. Yet as the soft knock became more urgent, Damien’s scent was fading, and I climb out of bed confused.“It’s not Damien” Raine whispers to me and she seemed nervous. The knock comes again and this time they try turning the handle. I was so grateful I had locked the door. There is a pause and the handle is turned again and I hear the click of the lock. Whoever it was, they had unlocked my door from the other side.I was frozen to the spot, a mix of fear and confusion as the door opens slightly and Alpha Ivan steps in closing the door behind him and turning the lock“Are you okay
Damien’s POVAiden charges us up the stairs, following Irina’s cries. Whatever was happening, she didn’t want it!We push against the door but there is no movement and I realise it was locked, without waiting we take a run up to it and barrel through the door.Irina was naked, her skin flushed as she sobbed. Her eyes met mine and her mouth barely moves but I could see just how much fear was in her eyes.Alpha Ivan was too busy trying to rape my mate that he didn’t even notice that I was there.Jumping up, I wrap my teeth around his leg. A howl erupts from him and he lets go of Irina, a second was all she needed as Ivan tries to take a swing at me. Irina grabs a dagger from under her pillow and strikes
Irina’s POVI was so relieved to see him, so grateful that he had come to save me.After everything I had said to Damien, after everything I had done, he had still come back to help me!Alpha Ivan’s departure had me totally confused. He didn’t fight, he didn’t challenge Damien, he just left telling Damien the treaty was over.I think I must have been in some sort of shock. I don’t remember much between leaving Alpha Ivan’s and arriving outside of Damien’s packhouse. But I keep myself huddled up, the dagger close by. I needed a shower, I needed to scrub myself clean. I needed to remove any memory of Alpha Ivan being on me.I find myself shaking my head at Damien, I had no idea what he
Damien’s POVIt had broken her! After Vivian, I thought her mother’s death would have been the thing to tip her over the edge. Then again, no woman expected this to happen to them. She had gone with him in the hopes of being able to leave my pack safely and Ivan had betrayed her trust. Her skin was bright red when she came out of the bathroom, and I couldn’t help but look at the jagged mark on her neck. When I ask, she lets me hug her. I thought she might have refused. It takes a few moments before she breaks down. As I hold her, I try to ignore the mark Ivan had given her but it was staring me in the face. The unwanted mark of another Alpha, that was why it was so jagged and angry looking. My father had so
Irina’s POV He said it like it is a bad thing. He had raised me as his daughter, I had called him Dad and now he was speaking to Damien like I was some kind of disgusting abnormality, like I wasn’t even relevant. “What is that even supposed to mean father? You have been sending me in circles with your riddles” Damien continues to demand answers as I stand there trying to process his fathers words. “She is the only thing that is keeping this pack from certain death” “You wanted me to bring Irina home, you told me to go and get her” “It’s to late Son, she has been marked by him”. He shakes his head and turns away, resting his hands on the window frame. “Well I brought her home and like I said, the treaty is over father” The old Alpha sighs “Then you will bring death to this pack, you are not strong enough to go up against Black Crescent” As they discussed what was happening, the mark on my neck was beginning to sting. It was sore to touch, and I try to ignore it. “Stop it, plea
